MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY IN IMPRESSIVE 3D

ABOUT 3D MEDICAL PRINT As a master dental technician with my own dental lab, I have always been looking for further education and innovative techniques in the medical sector. Finding a possibility to produce high quality 3D models for the medical sector was the beginning for the company 3D medical print. It was founded in October 2012 and I now dedicate myself fully to this new technology. Future-oriented... Since there had been no one providing 3D printed model in this sector in Austria up to this point, I decided to invest in 3D printing in order to produce dental models made out of different resins. With the company Objet/Stratasys, a pioneer in the domain of 3D printing, I found the right technical partner for our company. Since January 2013 we have been offering a large range of 3D printed products for the dental sector, which we continue to improve and expand....and quality-oriented On our website www.3dmedicalprint.com dentists, dental technicians and surgeons can easily order medical and dental models, drill guides and models for surgical planning. ZTM Stefan Remplbauer 3

FROM FILE TO MODEL From file to model During the ordering process open STL-files can be uploaded directly on our website. Also CT and DVT files are possible to process in an open DICOM format. Via our 3Shape Inbox, we are able to work with data of the most common intraoral scanners (e.g. 3Shape Trios, cadent itero, sirona bluecam, COS 3M Espa Lava ). With the help of a CAD-software, a 3D model is designed out of the intraoral scan data. This virtual model can then be uploaded via our ordering portal. If you don t have access to a model builder, we will also design the model for you. Ultra-thin layer for layer With the help from the patented PolyJet technology of our partner Objet/Stratasys, the most modern photopolymer materials are applied in 16 μm thin layers. On a construction platform the model is built layer by layer. After the so-called jetting, every photopolymer layer is cured with UV light. This way, the printed model is ready to be used right after cleaning, without it having to be cured again. The high-speed grid construction of a PolyJet 3D printer doesn t just allow for fast processing. Multiple objects can also be created simultaneously. Resin can be loaded and removed without contact. The gel-like support material, developed especially for the complicated geometry, can easily be removed with water. High quality... We only use high quality, cold sterilizable resins for our 3D models. A broad spectrum of FullCure materials allows us to create parts with varying geometry, mechanical qualities and different colours....and biocompatible Stratasys biocompatible material med610 is a solid material with excellent dimensional stability and colourless transparency. Ideal for usage which demands a longer period of skin contact (more than 30 days) and temporary mucosal membrane contact (up to 24 hours), this material is perfect for 3D products in the dental sector. Five medical approvals cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, type IV allergies, irritation and resin USP Class VI guarantee the biocompatibility of the material. Optimally suited for: n Medical and dental use n 3D printed dental templates n checking the fit of the surgical templates and the positioning trays n monitioring the oral soft tissue during the use of surgical templates through the transparent material 4

FROM FILE TO MODEL HOW IT WORKS UPLOAD 3D MODEL After one-time registration on www.3dmedicalprint.com, select your desired product and send the associated data as part of the ordering process. 3D PRINT OF THE DATA The uploaded STL-files will be printed with liquid resin into a 3D model - with a resolution of 600 dpi and a layer thickness of 16 μm. DELIVERY OF THE 3D MODEL The finished 3D model will be delivered by DPD (in Austria) or DHL (internationally). Keep track of your order status on our website. 5

Saw cut model Die model Digital drill template Removable partial

OUR PRODUCTS DENTAL Models for crowns and bridges Die model: a model with removable dies; the gingival areas remain unchanged. The dies are segmented from the model below the margin line and they can be taken out of the model base once printed. Saw cut models: in this model, virtual cuts are planned between the dies and divided into individual segments. Therefor a base with virtual pins must be aligned onto the scan, so that the individual segments can be repositioned accordingly after printing. Possible platforms we use for this are from Baumann (Evo Ms 2000) or Dentona (dentobase). Solid model: for this model the scan is prepared and provided with a model base. Unless otherwise specified, the models are printed with a three-pin fixation. Implant model Our implant models are (unless otherwise specified) delivered with a simple three-pin positioning of the maxillar and mandibular model. It is also possible to attach and print other articulator interfaces on the model (e.g. for 3 shape). Implant model with gingival mask: our implant models are available with removable pink gingival mask in a soft composite. The model can be ordered with or without lab implants. We offer lab implants of the most popular implant manufacturers (see list on our website) Master model For immediate dentures, finalization of removable partials, dentures, wax-ups and much more. A solid model made of intraoral scans, supplied with a three-pin fixation unless stated otherwise. The master model can be transfered onto your own articulator and your planned technical work can then be finished. Digital drill template The drill template is printed based on the free STL information provided by your implantation planning software. On request we also insert the titanium sleeves. For the templates we use med610, a biocompatible resin which is cold sterilizable. Removable partials: You upload your constructed removable partials in STL format on our website and select a printed or molded form for further processing. We will cast the partials using a vacuum pressure casting method with the high quality alloy Remanium GM 800+ from the company Dentaurum. 7

OUR PRODUCTS ORTHODONTICS Aligner model We produce arch-shaped and setup models using med690. The models are printed at an unbelievably thin layer thickness of 16 microns and a resolution of 600 dpi; provided with a base, if necessary. Master model for orthodontic appliances We provide these models including a base and a simple three-pin fixation, so that maxillar and mandibular can be fixed according to occlusion scan. Digitally designed orthodontic appliances With the use of different CAD software it is possible to construct Herbstappliances and RPE devices. These appliances are then sent to our partner company CAM4DENT for laser sintering. Digitally produced splints We print Michigan splints, bleaching splints, occlusal splints, therapy splints and NTI splints using a transparent, biocompatible polymer with a layer thickness of only 16 microns. Bracket model or bracket transfer templates Position brackets virtually on your scan using special software and order either the model with the previously planned brackets or a transfer template made from biocompatible resin. With the help of the template you can attach the brackets and adhere them in the mouth. 8

Medical prototypes Craniofacial System Cardiovascular System Orthopaedics

OUR PRODUCTS SURGERY Based on CT or DVT data we segmet the bone or other regions and convert them into an STL format which will then be printed into a 3D model. Surgeons can use these models to plan major surgeries in advance and test the fit of titanium auxiliary parts. Cardiovascular system We prepare transmitted DICOM files using special software and print the desired models to help with the surgical planning. We can either print the whole heart or only certain areas, such as veins and arteries. If requested, we can also plan virtual cuts, so that it is possible to separate the objects and put them back together. Craniofacial system We offer 3D printed models for Oral and Maxillofacial surgery after tumor treatments or accidents. Therefor we segment the bony parts of the CT record and print these for the surgical planning. Orthopaedics PROTOTYPES & SMALL SERIES Medical prototypes For companies involved in the designing and development of medical devices we offer the possibility to present prototypes in a tactile way. Transfered data will certainly be handled with strict confidentiality. Small series. Upon request we offer the printing of customized gift items, 3D company logos or other advertising materials in various resins. Minimum purchasing quantity is 5 pieces. General prototypes For all those, who want to see their creativity printed in 3D, we offer prototype construction up to the size of 490 x 390 x 200 mm. We will print objects in one single piece. Larger moldings can be separated using our CAD program and put back together after printing. 11
