Please read the following course descriptions carefully to determine which course is the right one for you. The card awarded will reflect the type of course completed with a recommended renewal date of two years. The signs of stroke, heart attack, and the prevention of SIDS and childhood injuries will be discussed. Oral Radiography HTH-7380 (4.1 CEUs) Prerequisite: Before clinical experiences at area medical institutions, students may be required to provide proof of current health insurance and/or a negative drug screen, and may be required to have a criminal background check at their own expense. Dental assistants will be trained to prepare patients, safely obtain radiographic dental images, and process and mount films. Stress is placed on infection control and safety. Skills will be refined in the dental office where the student is employed. Topics include anatomical landmarks, types of radiographic surveys, radiographic techniques, biologic effects, and types of radiographic and film composition and processing. Obtain the clinical hours for inactive RNs and LPNs necessary to complete a Maryland Board of Nursing approved course for licensure. Nurses work with a registered nurse preceptor to update their organizational abilities and decisionmaking and technical skills while caring for clients in a variety of healthcare settings. These supervised clinical experiences allow nurses to gain self confidence while managing patient care and demonstrating accountability for their own practice.
