ACCOUNTING POLICIES NOTES TO THE ABBREVIATED ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2014 Accounting convention The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008). Turnover Turnover represents net fees for services, excluding value added tax. Revenue is recognised on the provision of services on a percentage degree of completion basis calculated with reference to the time expended compared to the total time anticipated. Tangible fixed assets Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life. Fixtures and fittings Computer equipment - 25% on cost - 33% on cost Investments are in listed shares and are valued at cost. 2.
