Journalism Programs One of the things I ve loved about teaching at UCLA Etension is that the curriculum changes at the speed of journalism. Because I m coming from the office to the classroom, it s easy to engage my students about some of the challenges and changes to the industry just as those changes are occurring. And in a field as competitive and in flu as journalism, being at the cusp of those changes is essential to staying atop the field. Scott Bowles Journalism instructor and film writer, USA Today Launch your career in today s eciting and diverse media world With countless media outlets delivering a 24/7 stream of news and information, journalism has become one of today s fastest-changing professions. Everywhere you look, reporters, photographers, editors, and bloggers are telling stories through multiple platforms, including websites, blogs, social networking sites, video notebooks, and podcasts, not to mention traditional newspapers, magazines, and live broadcasts. Yet, for all this change, we still need a free, well-trained, and ethical media corps to help us make informed choices about our lives and core values. A journalism career etends not just that responsibility, but provides a chance to eperience the world unlike any other profession.
