About TLI The Texas Laser Institute, founded in 2011, is a result of a steadfast commitment to providing excellence in training and certification for aesthetic professionals. Using an array of treatment modalities, The Texas Laser Institute takes a holistic approach to providing comprehensive instruction and professional development to its students. As approved by The Texas Department of State Health Services, the Texas Laser Institute s program is designed to satisfy state mandated certification for laser hair removal professionals in Texas. State Of The Art Facilities The Texas Laser Institute is headquartered in Houston, Texas just on the periphery of the prestigious Texas Medical Center. With state of the art classroom and conference facilities, the Institute also gives students the ability to provide hands-on treatments within a clinical medical spa environment. In addition, The Texas Laser Institute provides an excellent selection of very sophisticated laser technology including several alexandrite lasers, Nd: YAG lasers and an IPL machines coupled with a selection of several hand pieces with proper filter variations. Students also enjoy training on solid state cooling systems as well as the application of cooling gel as proper techniques in providing heightened epidermal protection during treatments. As appropriate and desired, students may be trained on any of the following aesthetic platforms: 1. Alexandrite Laser Systems, 755 nm, long pulse systems with variable speed and pulse durations. 2. Combination systems, allowing the selection between an Alexandrite Laser System, 755 nm, or an Nd: YAG Laser System, 1064 nm. Both in long pulse modalities. 3. Short pulsed, Passive Q-switched Laser System, allowing a selection between an Nd: YAG laser, 1064 nm, or a KTP/Nd: YAG blend 532 nm/1064 nm blend. 4. Active Q-switched Alexandrite, 755 nm, short pulse system. 5. Palomar StarLux IPL machine, with selection between the Lux Y, Lux G, and Lux R handpieces 6. Diamondtome Microdermabrasion 7. Diode & Radio Frequency Platforms The Institute s headquarters is located within the Avery Medical building, which affords students with free off-street parking, with close proximity and easy access to local restaurants, hotels, and access to public transportation. With nearly 2,000 square feet of training space, a multitude of fully equipped treatment rooms, and an on-site physician medical director, the Institute is well poised to offer comprehensive training and certification to its students.

School Administration Texas Laser Institute is founded by Robert E. Logue, JD, LSO. At the Institute, Mr. Logue fulfills the role of President and Dean. Robert is considered a worldwide leading expert in the use of lasers for aesthetic treatments having provided interviews for news outlets, attended speaking engagements, and published articles in leading industry journals. Robert E. Logue, JD, LSO President & Dean Mr. Logue maintains almost half a decade of experience in the safe and effective operation of lasers for non-ablative procedures. He has overseen the delivery of tens of thousands of aesthetic laser treatments be it from providing treatments himself or through the hundreds of individuals that he has trained and directly supervised in the use of lasers. Mr. Logue has received extensive one-on-one training by leading innovators in field of laser hair removal and medical aesthetics. His expertise includes: laser mechanics, light absorption and depth of penetration within the dermis and epidermis, laser scatter and dissipation, refraction with related hazards, measurement of fluence, beam profiling, and optimal parameters for balancing thermal relaxation, containment and destruction times. Considered an expert by professional colleagues and doctors, Mr. Logue has developed extensive course materials for the Texas Laser Institute. Mr. Logue earned his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his Juris Doctor from Washington And Lee University School of Law and is a current member of the Texas Bar Association. He has extensive experience in teaching, having formal training as an instructor at UNC at Chapel Hill. He also serves as the Laser Safely Officer for the Texas Laser Institute. Mr. Logue remains active in the classroom instruction as well as hands-on training and frequently conducts on-site, destination training. Vivian Rodriguez, MD Medical Director Dr. Rodriguez has practiced medicine for nearly 20 years. She completed her residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. With specialization in internal medicine, Dr. Rodriguez is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as the American Board of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Marc N. Stock, D.P.M. Dean, Lasers & Podiatry Dr. Stock has practiced medicine for nearly 20 years. He completed his residency at Yale University in New Haven, CT. With specialization in podiatric medicine, Dr. Stock is Board Certified in Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Stock oversees course instruction on the use of lasers for the treatment of onychomycosis. Christa Murray, Laser Professional, LSO Dean of Instruction Christa oversees the college curriculum as well as fulfills the role of lead instructor. Christa's background includes nearly ten years of industry experience. Prior to joining TLI, her experience includes successfully managing multiple medical spas, training and certifying laser professionals as well as providing expertise for news outlets and professional resources. Christa is certified as a Laser Hair Removal Professional and Laser Safety Officer. Course Offerings 40-HOUR LASER HAIR REMOVAL TECHNICIAN PROGRAM COURSE (Texas state mandated course to become a Laser Hair Removal Technician Apprentice in Training) Over 4 comprehensive days, our students enjoy extensive classroom training on the theory, concepts, and practice of laser hair removal. In addition, we provide hands-on experience on a wide modality of laser systems in a real world state of the art office setting. PROFESSIONAL LASER HAIR REMOVAL CERTIFICATION WITH 4-HOUR REVIEW COURSE (For senior technicians electing to upgrade to the level of a professional laser hair removal technician.) The Texas Laser Institute, through its Association of Laser Professionals, serves as a Certifying Entity for the state of Texas in offering training, testing, and certification for those wanting to become a Professional Laser Hair Removal Technician. LASER HAIR REMOVAL TECHNICIAN (CLHR 101) 24 Classroom Hours with focus on the following topics: Course Description: CLHR 101 provides training in both theory and in practice to individuals seeking to obtain training as a Laser Hair Removal Technician. This seminar is approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services and satisfies the required training to perform laser hair removal treatments as a Certified Laser Hair Removal Technician, Apprentice-In-Training throughout the state of Texas. CLHR 101 is a 40 hour seminar, with both theory and practical hands-on application. At the completion of the program, an examination will be administered. There are no special requirements for completion of the course other than to complete at least 90% of the classroom hours, take active part in class discussion and the hands-on practicum, as well as to score a passing mark on the final examination of at least 70%. A certificate of completion from the Texas Laser Institute as a Laser Hair Removal Technician will be awarded to each individual with the completion of necessary course hours and a passing score on the examination. Additional training is provided for practice success. Seminar includes all training materials, model forms, sample product and supplies to be used during training, testing and certificates of completion. Student may show current enrollment in a program or attainment of licensure or education where a high school diploma served as a prerequisite.
