Board of Registration for Master Electricians, Journeyman Electricians, Apprentice Electricians, Electrical Contractors and Electrical Subcontractors CONTINUING EDUCATION APPROVAL FORM REQUIREMENTS The Board of Registration for Master Electricians, Journeyman Electricians, Apprentice Electricians, Electrical Contractors, and Electrical Subcontractors has prepared a Board-approved listing of recognized colleges, institutions, trade schools and training programs accepted to satisfy the Continuing Education requirements in Prince George s County. Please see attachment for the Board-approved listing. Per the Prince George s County Code (Subtitle 2, Division 14B, Section 2-253.55 (e)), ALL active Master Electricians and Master Electricians Limited are required to obtain ten (10) hours of Continuing Education Units (CEU s) for license renewals. Courses MUST relate to the current National Electrical Code (NEC) and any changes or updates. Licenses approved by the Board and issued by the Permitting & Licensing Division are valid for a period of two (2) years from the date of issuance. Such licenses are thereby subject to biennial renewal. The Permitting & Licensing Division notifies licensees of the upcoming license expiration date sixty (60) days prior to that date. The Continuing Education Approval Form must be completed and submitted to the Board for review for ANY courses taken from places not listed on the Board s approved listing and any courses the Permitting & Licensing Division deems necessary for Board review. Course certificates from the training institution are required as verification of course completion. Verifications must include the name of the training institution, the course title, the number of CEU s and the date(s) of the course.
