NCSU CBE Conference Room 2018 EB1 Touchpanel Users Guide The Crestron wireless touch panel should be kept on the docking station located in the equipment rack when not in use. When removed from the docking station the touch panel uses an internal battery or can be used with a power supply (located in the equipment rack drawer). If the Touchpanel will be used for an extended amount of time, it is recommended to use the power supply. Touch the screen to wake up the touch panel. If the touch panel is powered off push the power button located on the left side of the touch panel.

Start Page Selecting the Configure the room for a video conference button will turn on the Sony projector and the Eiki LCD display. You will be prompted to the VTC control page on the Touchpanel. The Polycom HD video codec home page menu will be displayed on the Eiki display, and the local video camera will be displayed on the projector screen. Selecting Use the room for a local presentation will prompt you to the presentation control page on the Touchpanel. No displays will power on.

Video Conference Session Controls There are three wireless tabletop microphones and one wireless lavaliere microphone located in the equipment rack drawer. Press and hold the ON/OFF button (located on the bottom of the table top mic) for approximately 2 seconds. The LCD illuminates green when mic is active and red when mic is muted. To turn the transmitter off, press and hold the ON/OFF button again. Place the MX690 within 1.5 m (5 ft.) of a talker. Aim the microphone toward the talkers and away from loudspeakers and noise sources. Use one microphone for every two talkers. Pickup angle with a cardioid cartridge is 130.Please turn these on prior to making a call. And remember to turn them off before to returning them to the drawer. To make a phone call select the Home button (if the Polycom menu is not shown on the Eiki LCD display). Use the up, down, left, right and enter buttons to navigate the Polycom home screen. Use the keypad buttons to enter the IP address(remember to dial the dot in the IP address), or phone number, of the far site you wish to call. Press the Call button. Press Hang Up to disconnect from the current call.

Video Conference Session Controls (continued) To display the laptop connection (located on the table); select the Send Laptop button. The laptop image will be displayed on the projection screen and a notice Sending Computer will appear on the Eiki LCD display.a laptop icon will be displayed on the LCD display. If you do not see the image and the notice please make sure that the VGA output is activated on the laptop. Press the Stop Sending Laptop button to stop displaying and sending the laptop video. The Far site volume can be adjusted by using the Call Volume Up and Down buttons. This will display a bar graph on the Eiki display. Pressing the Privacy will stop/start sending microphone audio to the far site. When muted there will be a no microphone icon on the Eiki display. Laptop audio levels can be adjusted by using the Laptop Volume controls. Select the Camera Controls button to access the camera control page.

Controlling Camera s You can select which camera you wish the far site to see. (Near Right or Near Left) When one of these is selected the pan/tilt and zoom controls will operate the selected camera. If the far site codec is setup to allow far site camera control, you can select the Far End and the controls will operate the far site camera. Select one of the six preset buttons to recall a camera preset. These presets store both positional and camera information. To save a preset move a selected camera to a frequently used camera angle of view, press Save, then the preset number. Press Polycom Controls button to return to the VTC controls menu page.

Ending a VTC Session When you are finished with the Polycom conference session, press Hang Up to disconnect from the current call, press the EXIT button, located on the top upper right of the page. If you are finished using the room pleased select Exit, and power off the AV System. This will turn off both displays in the room. Select End VTC session, and continue to use the room for local presentation if you wish to show laptop video on either display. This will prompt you to the Local Presentation page. Cancel will close this page with no action taken.

Local Presentations If Use the room for local presentation is selected from the start page, please connect the VGA and audio cable to the external outputs of your laptop. Selecting the View Laptop on the Projection Screen will power on the projector. Selecting the View Laptop on Right LCD Display will power on the Eiki flat panel display. Each display has a Power off button if you wish to turn off one of the displays. If you power off the projector, a cool down bar graph will appear. It takes approx. 90 seconds for the projector to cool down

Ending a Presentation Press the EXIT button will prompt the following choices. Exit and power off the AV system this will turn off displays and prompt the Start page with a cool down timer. This takes approx. 90 seconds. End local presentation and continue to use the room for a video conference. This will configure displays and controls for the Polycom VTC system. Cancel will close this page with no action taken. When finished please put the touch panel back on the charger, and place power cable back in drawer if used.
