The 2008 Annual Employee Auction topped all expectations by raising over $11,600 for Cancer Patient Care Agencies in Spokane, North Idaho, Wenatchee Valley and Tri-Cities areas. Numerica supports the annual Tom s Turkey Drive, a regional food drive to benefit 2nd Harvest of the Inland Northwest. By providing a secure online donation form and accepting monetary donations in branches, Numerica has helped make this event even more successful each year. In addition to the sponsorship, Numerica employees and members donated another $7,000 to 2nd Harvest.
Unity in the Community is an event coordinated by the African American, Hispanic, Asian and Native American Association (AHANA). Numerica is a corporate sponsor of this local event that celebrates differences and healthy business within multi-cultural communities. SNAP Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs and Numerica are working together to bring individuals who do not have a bank account (or use the fringe/predatory firms) back into mainstream banking. This outreach program provides financial education and stresses realistic money management.

Low-Income Housing Project Numerica is helping finance a $1.3 million low-income apartment complex that will have 160 units. The loan was completed using the FHLB Community Investment Program. Small Business Administration Express Lender Numerica is an SBA Preferred Lender, which allows for expedited processing and approval. We are also designated as an Express and new Patriot Express lender. For real estate loans, we have the ability to finance under conventional SBA 504 and 7(a) programs. Micro Enterprise Program For over 10 years, Numerica has participated in the Micro Enterprise Development Program, which offers small business loans in cooperation with local Spokane Economic Development Groups. In addition, Numerica partners with Spokane Neighborhood Assets and World Relief, the region s refugee resettlement agency. Supporting Education Biz Kid$ A children s television series about financial literacy and entrepreneurship airing on Public Broadcasting Stations (PBS). The show is possible through a partnership between America s Credit Unions and Junior Achievement. Numerica s local underwriting has ensured the program is available to the Inland Northwest. First Class School Champion A recognition program that encourages students to nominate a school employee that has gone above and beyond to contribute to their success. The student and school employee are recognized on local television and radio following an all-school assembly awards presentation.

Home Ownership Owning a home is the foundation of individual financial security, and home ownership is critical for creating strong communities. During 2008, Numerica funded a total of $50.5 million in home loans. Each of these loans represents a family and a stronger community. By utilizing and educating members about assistance programs such as State Bond Money home loans, 0% Down and FHA/VA loans, Homestart Grants, and Home Choice Loans (Spokane Neighborhood Action Program), first-time homebuyers, low-income purchasers and buyers with disabilities are able to achieve the dream of owning their own home. Conventional Loans, through the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA), allow up to 100% LTV. Through FNMA, local lenders are provided with a continuous mortgage funding cycle. My Community Home Buyer Program is a Fannie Mae low-downpayment program that enables borrowers to use a greater amount of their monthly income toward housing costs. Affordable Home Program is a Federal initiative that allows homeowners to refinance their mortgage loan despite their loan-to-value ratio or lower their mortgage payments to avoid foreclosure. Home Buyer Education Seminars Free seminars prepare people for the purchase of their first home. The seminars are presented by professionals in real estate related fields. Foreclosure Prevention Numerica takes proactive measures to help members who are facing financial difficulty by providing helpful online resources and directing members to services that can help, such as Fannie Mae, Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the HOPE NOW Alliance.
