Commerzbank Vocational Trainee Scheme 2016Fact Sheet Page 3 Traineeship overview If you are successful in your application you will be assigned to an area within Commerzbank, where you will stay for three and a half years. Here you will learn to specialise in that particular area but at the same time you will also be exposed to other areas within the bank. After completing the programme, your position is reviewed and it is decided whether there is a permanent position for you in the bank, either in the area you have been working in or another. During the first two years, you will study towards an HND in Business & Finance at the European College of Business and Management as well as a separate banking qualification (Bankkaufmann / Bankkrauffrau). This means attending college once a month for approximately three days. Upon successful completion of the HND, you will study for a further year and a half to top-up to a BA (Hons) degree in Business and Management. Typically you will have to attend college three days per month, however sometimes this may be at weekends. More study will also be required in your own time. Your progression with your studies at college is considered as important as your progression within the working environment. You will be given full support by the college and by your line manager to ensure you achieve your full potential and maximise your skill set, both academically and practically in the workplace. You will also be able to speak to other trainees that have taken part in the course, for help and guidance along the way. All college fees are paid for by the bank on top of your basic salary. All trainees will start on the same salary and will continue on the same salary whilst on the programme. Other benefits include private healthcare, life cover and a non-contributory pension scheme. Successful applicants will be assigned to a role based on suitability and the requirements of the bank. It is highly likely that you will be allocated to one of the following business units for the duration of your programme. 1. Commerzbank Transaction Services (CTS) This department supports the Bank s Corporate clients, based in the UK, in Germany and other countries where Commerzbank has got a branch with their Transactional Services needs. CTS have regular contact with clients to answer queries and provide solutions. CTS duties include: Processing Electronic Cash Transactions Online Banking for corporate clients Cash Pooling solutions Cash / Cheque Paying-in facilities Trade Finance / Documentary Business Trainee duties in CTS Client Services Answering client queries via phone and email Liaising with other departments/branches in London and abroad (mainly Germany) Creating and sending contracts to clients for online banking and cash pooling Working with our agency bank to establish paying-in facilities, petty cash facilities and ordering corporate credit cards Informing clients of system updates Checking and processing client documentation Maintaining electronic and paper based files Dealing with statement requests Setting up fees and interest rates Maintaining updated system procedures Filing and general office administration

Corporate Banking / Relationship Management UK Corporate Banking is the Relationship Management arm of Commerzbank AG, London Branch and is part of the wider Corporate Banking International Branch network. In close liaison with product specialists, we provide and market a broad range of products and services to corporate clients in the United Kingdom. In addition to the main business model of servicing large corporates ( Outbound Desk ), we also service smaller clients domiciled in the UK whose parent companies are based in Germany or another of our core markets Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Switzerland ( Inbound Desk ). Our business incorporates advisory and capital markets activities in debt, equities, commodities, fixed income and currencies with a strong focus on the Corporate Finance product suite, as well as a full range of transactional banking services. Corporate Banking aspires to be the clients partner of choice when it comes to the development and execution of smart solutions for all their financing and capital market needs. We service in the region of 100 Large Corporates and 1,400 SME s (Small and Medium Enterprises). Trainee duties in Corporate Banking / Relationship Management Providing company research and analysis to Relationship Managers Providing relationship updates and liaising with various other internal departments within the bank Drafting of credit applications and calculating key company financial figures and ratio s for further company analysis Drafting of product pitch books for external discussion with clients General administrative support for Relationship Managers Supporting account opening processes and ongoing compliance related know your customer checks

Finance The department is responsible for all the day-to-day transactional accounting & financial reporting for the Front Office businesses booked in London. This starts with the production of daily P&L and extends to the preparation of monthly financial & management information that subsequently feeds into the published results of the Commerzbank Group, as well as the statistical and regulatory information required by external authorities such as the Bank of England and PRA in the UK and the BaFin in Germany. It is also responsible for the review and analysis of the results to assist senior management in Front and Back Office in their strategic decision making. Departments in London Finance Financial Control Business Unit Control Corporates & Global Corporate Finance MIS / Reporting Taxation Independent Price Verification Business & Change Management Trainee duties in Financial Control Assist with daily and monthly Financial Control function for multiple London entities Validation of the booking of accounting entries and ensuring control structures are operating to maintain integrity of the financial statements Ensure accurate accounting of costs for the London Business including Front Office and Support Functions Assist with monthly Head Office Reporting requirements for London based entities.

The team work cross asset class (Interest Rate, FX, Credit, Equities, Commodities) under the provisions of the rules of fair value. Trainee duties in Independent Price Verification Gain a detailed understanding of traded financial products and market based pricing Perform daily/weekly/monthly valuation of all trading positions Adhere to tight month end deadlines in both testing and reporting Communicate results with Front Office and Risk departments Challenge Front Office and raise issues to Finance management as appropriate You will learn: Accounting skills covering Balance Sheet & PnL presentation Technical skills: Windows based products Business knowledge across all product classes and business lines Analytical skills Business, communication and team building skills

Market Risk and P&L Management Market Risk & P&L department is the second line of defence of the bank and aims to translate the bank s risk appetite into concrete steering, supports and controls as well as to challenge and advise the Front Office. The aforementioned objectives are provided to the specific area of Corporates & Market Market risk duties include: Risk Management and Reporting for Management and Board decisions Monitoring of limit and exposure in Equity, Commodities, Interest Rate, FX and Credit trading Interface to the Front Office to control, advise and discuss Risk mitigation measures Participation to bank wide regulatory and strategic projects Continuous development and enhancement of P&L and Market Risk governance and control framework Trainee duties in Market Risk and P&L Department Assist Risk and P&L Managers in their daily tasks Gain knowledge and understanding of Market Risk and P&L Management Analyse data, products and trading trends Contribute to Market Risk and P&L applications and reports Support the maintenance and development of databases and documentation Support on ad-hoc reports or presentations Filing and general office administration

Group Audit In accordance to Group Audit s mission statetement we are part of the value-added chain of the Bank and contribute to safeguarding its assets. Fairness and competence stand for Group Audit s aspiration regarding co-operation. Group Audit delivers services on behalf of the Board of Managing Directors ( the Board ) as an independent, objective and risk-orientated assurance (audit) and consultant activity, which is designed to optimize the operations of the Commerzbank Group with regard to correctness, security and economic efficiency. Group Audit assists the Board with a systematic disciplined approach in evaluating the effectiveness and appropriateness of the risk management, the internal control system as well as the business processes, in addition to accompanying core projects and making recommendations. These services contribute to safeguarding the bank s business processes and assets. With respect to the conducted audit projects, Group Audit also monitors and documents the timely implementation of the required actions (FollowUp). Group Audit has offices in Frankfurt, London, Luxemburg, New York and Singapore. The Group Audit London team s main focus is the audit of the trading and sales business of Commerzbank Corporates & Markets, as well as advisory and structuring activities, and related Support and Risk Management functions (particularly Market Risk & Liquidity Risk). Trainee duties in Group Audit consist of Preparation of the Group Audit monthly report to London Management and London General Management including preparation of respective statistics Supporting the audit team in performing audit projects or ex-ante tasks Supporting colleagues in Group Audit and other departments in aspects of the FollowUp Answering business queries via phone and email Liaising with Group Audit colleagues as well as other departments in London Engaging in administrative tasks In Group Audit you will learn / experience: about Commerzbank London business to analyse topics in a methodological way and present them to management and other team members to work within a team and manage relationships within the bank
