KU PROFILE The University of Kansas, often called KU, is a comprehensive teaching and research institution. KU is a large public university in the Midwestern state of Kansas, and its main campus is in the city of Lawrence. LOCATION KU is located in the state of Kansas. The main campus is in the city of Lawrence.
