Press Release Once again, this year's Industrial Fair will be taking place in Hannover, on April 21-25. It is one of the world's leading fairs for international engineering, in particular mechanical engineering, to be positioned outside the field of the specialist fairs. It is interesting to consider why businesses choose to exhibit their products at events like the Hannover Fair, in a climate in which cost minimisation is such an important factor. After all, it is common knowledge that trade fair activities are rather cost intensive The year 2008 will mark the 21st time that GFD is participating in the Hannover Industrial Fair. The stated aims of participating companies vary greatly. For instance, our main reason for taking part in international fairs is to improve our chances of gaining access to new markets, and in particular: Increasing our share of exports Attracting new customers Maintaining existing customer relations Presenting new products The trade fair functions as a platform upon which we can present ourselves to an international public. The exhibition stand is the centre of targeted presentational activities. It is of uniform design, ready configured, economical, and functional. We conduct dialogues with existing and potential customers and establish contacts to customers and suppliers in the industrial, production, retail and service sectors. It also enables us to determine whether products, competence, and communication are as they should be.
This is also where we demonstrate ways and means to potential customers of entering saturated markets. It is where existing customer contacts are maintained and, if necessary, reactivated. Directly, effectively, and economically. This year, the emphasis of the products on display is on: Sealing rings with universal resistance to chemicals Metal and PTFE sealing rings designed for use in extreme operating conditions, and which can cope with the highest demands Applications, areas of deployment, and solutions to problems Product innovations and developments Even in difficult times, GFD continues to grow. Its excellent product range secures its onward growth. Twenty people are employed in developing seal constructions of diameters between two millimetres and three metres. Our customers operate in such fields as the machine tool, faucet, medical engineering, and aerospace industries, and also include manufacturers of pumps, compressors, laser systems, gas turbines, autoclaves, and containers. Since the 1960s, the founders of the company have concentrated on producing special sealing rings and sealing elements for use under extreme conditions. The inspiration for this came from the negative experiences made by users of so-called cheap, standard sealing rings, under difficult operating conditions The consequences of this were usually the same: the seal swells, becomes deformed, corroded, overheated, and fatigued, until finally it loses its sealing effect. Wear, leakage, loss of medium, and standstill cause costs, which today's economically operating companies can ill afford. GFD's high performance sealing elements are specially designed for use in even the most extreme conditions. Small business flexibility combined with the experience of innovative specialists is the key to a constantly growing customer base, both at home and abroad.
