Current Course Descripons: KSPE 8200 Coaching Sciences Essenal informaon required of a prudent coach in order to recognize, assess, and respond to athlec emergencies. The course will allow coaches to develop appropriate methods of condioning to promote safe and effecve pracces. KSPE 8300 Applied Sport Science Applicaon of sports psychology, exercise physiology, nutrion, and aspects of biomechanics, motor development, and sports management to performance coaching.
Suggested Changes to Course Descripons: KSPE 8200 Coaching Pedagogy Essenal informaon required for planning, instrucon, and assessment of athletes. This course will allow coaches to develop appropriate teaching methods based on pedagogical content knowledge and sport specific contexts. KSPE 8300 Applied Sport Science Applicaon of various science related fields of study to the coaches instruconal contexts. This course will allow coaches use learning from exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor development, sports management, and nutrion to enhance sport program, coaching pracces, and athlete outcomes.
