The completed document will contain a statement of principles, a section on classroom management for teachers, a section about due process-based suspension and expulsion procedures, and a section describing innovative approaches to school discipline that are currently in use across the country, with a large appendix of additional resources and places to find information about topics like restorative justice, a discipline philosophy that focuses on restoration and reconciliation rather than punishment for the wrongdoer. We hope that the Guide will provide professionals who work with children and schools crucial information about the need for school discipline reform and the tools and support to make change happen in their communities.
