July 2008 Newsletter 10325 RANCHO DESTINO RD LAS VEGAS NV 89183 Farewell from Fr. Nabil. I am writing for you this last letter as the construction process for your new hall is near completion. Remember how I was trying to tell you that it was the last Christmas, Easter and now, the last feast of St. Sharbel I would be celebrating with you? I would like to express my love and appreciation to all of you, each individual, each family, and each home. Everyone I met was a great friend and a great asset to the project of the building of our church. I thank God because my cry in the desert of Nevada bore many fruits. It was not as St. Thomas of Aquinas mentioned about the voice of one crying in the desert because they are deaf to the voice of God, or the unbelievers who merited the anger of God or as he mentioned as a third point because the Jews were far away from God. On the contrary, all of you answered the cries. This was all possible because you are people of good will, people of golden hearts, and people of great faith. My last words for you my friends is an invitation to everyone of you to come as one people, as one will, as one community, as one church together as one body of Jesus Christ to welcome Fr. Nadim Abou Zeid and to give him all the support you gave me and to many priests here in your beautiful city. Now is the time to rejoice. Now is the time to share the hope and the future of St. Sharbel in Las Vegas. Fr Nadim is going to be your permanent priest. He has great experience in many places of the world where he succeeded, and I hope that with him you will build a great future for St. Sharbel in Las Vegas. You now have a destiny in the city of lights, after you and me built a home for the divine light, I hope that very soon you will build with Fr. Nadim the tower of light where people will be going to seek refuge, where people will come to look for the truth, where people from all cultures will gather around the light, to be touched by it and to be healed by it, to be enlightened by it. And all the lights of your great city will fade in front of the light of your Saint, the Saint of the spirit, St. Sharbel. I will stay your friend and I will keep every one of you in my heart, and I will be watching from a distance to see you growing, and to see you coming and visiting me in San Diego. I am still dreaming for you that very soon the tower of light of your church will be raised up and from there the whole world will see the light reaching out to heaven, and again your city and your church will be the story of the whole world. Good luck my friends, be not afraid to open your little treasure, open your heart and open your hand, and be prepared to pay the monthly dues for the mortgage, on time 6,650 dollars. St. Sharbel and Jesus will bless you and they will do the rest. I trusted in you, I will trust in you always through Jesus Christ. This time it is a real goodbye. It is not any more so long, may our Lord and St. Sharbel bless you and bless your permanent priest.
