Understanding our overs Hospital What benefits are paid? For the servies inluded under eah of our overs, we ll pay benefits (less any appliable exess) towards: private hospital aommodation overnight aommodation in a private or shared room same day admissions intensive are theatre fees publi hospital aommodation as a private patient overnight aommodation in a private or shared room same day admissions (shared room only) dotors fees for in-hospital medial servies when you are treated as a private patient surgially implanted prostheses and other items on the Federal Government s Prostheses Shedule eligible ambulane servies where immediate professional attention is required (see page 20) Pharmaeutial Benefits Sheme (PBS) listed drugs, presribed aording to PBS approved indiations, that are administered during and form part of your admitted episode of are (inluding drugs presribed upon disharge). Please note that any harge above your benefit will form part of your out-of-poket expenses (see page 23 for more information). Mi Health - better health support for our members When you take out any of our Working Visa Health Insurane overs you'll have aess to the Mi Health range of support servies. Read more about Mi Health on page 6. Exess If you have an exess on your over, you must pay this amount towards the ost of your hospital treatment. An exess applies per person per alendar year and doesn t apply to hildren on your membership. Medial The medial omponent pays benefits towards medial servies that are listed under the Mediare Benefits Shedule (MBS) and provided either in or out of hospital by a dotor (eg. general pratitioner or speialist) depending on your level of over. The MBS lists a standard fee for most surgial and medial proedures (MBS fee). The amount of benefit you an expet to reeive from us is alulated as a perentage of the MBS fee. However, you ll have to pay any additional ost if the dotor harges you more than the benefit we pay you. With our Working Visa Health Insurane overs you ll generally reeive higher medial benefits than the benefits paid to a permanent Australian resident under Mediare. In-hospital medial The benefits you reeive for medial servies provided in-hospital (eg. surgeon s fees, anaesthetist s fees). Out-of-hospital medial The benefits you reeive for medial servies provided out-of-hospital (eg. dotor s visits, pathology). Presription only pharmaeutials important information Most international visitors to Australia are not eligible for subsidised pharmaeutials under the Pharmaeutial Benefits Sheme (PBS). Under our Working Visa Health Insurane overs we ll pay you benefits that are equal to the PBS government subsidy in exess of your patient ontribution. If high ost pharmaeutials are required for your treatment when in hospital, you may inur signifiant out-of-poket expenses.
