NEWHUADU BUSINESS SCHOOL Newhuadu Business School (NBS) is a public institution of higher learning based in China with the vision of becoming a world-class business school. We help to resolve real business issues facing Chinese enterprises and provide intellectual support on lifting their global competitiveness. The Dean of NBS is Professor Edmund S. Phelps, 2006 Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics and Director of the Center on Capitalism and Society of Columbia University, who has led the school since its inception in April 2010. NBS has attracted an international and diversified team of professors from leading universities around the world and CEO Coaches from multinational companies. The School operates in China (Fuzhou, Beijing, Shanghai) as well as in Switzerland (Zurich) and offers undergraduate, MBA, EMBA and DBA programs. CEO Coaching CEO Coaches are either former or incumbent CEOs of Multination Companies, including the Chairman of Zoomlion, the president of CITIC Trust, the CEO of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group, Vice CEO of Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the CEO of Hewlett-Packard (China), the former CEO of Qingdao Beer Group, the former CEO of WuMart etc. The CEO Coaches give lectures on business operation and one-to-one Q&A sessions, provide coaching and guidance for the students in their business management.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW The NBS Summer Consulting Internship Program (SCIP) is designed to provide participants with a global view of business with a particular focus on Chinese business philosophy and challenges. Through creativity, entrepreneurship and globally important ideas, students are challenged to deepen their view of Multinational Companies (MNCs), develop strategic mindset and grasp the latest management tools required by an MNC leader in today s fast-moving business world. It provides students with a competitive edge in the Our program is a group-based learning experience in which a group of 4-5 students is placed into a China-based MNC for two different experiences: a single day immersion with a Senior Manager and a 4-week long placement in a consulting engagement. The first placement allows the students to understand a Chinese MNC executive s typical day and the challenges that he or she faces. The second placement allows the students to analyze a particular problem in a MNC and propose a formal solution to the issue, using internal and external information as appropriate. Each group of students will be assigned a CEO Coach as their internship tutor. The program blends innovative course design with interaction, consulting experience and immersion study tours. It also unites students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds in the spirit of learning, open-mindedness and debate, while at the same time providing a deeper understanding of Chinese business philosophy and culture through first-hand experience. During the internship program, the school will also offer lectures about Chinese Management Case Studies, Cross Culture Communication and practical Business Chinese language.

1 day 1 week Lectures on China s economic development, legal environment, Chinese enterprise management case studies and Chinese culture + 4 weeks Shadowing a Senior Manager in order to understand how a typical day in a MNC is spent Internship in a MNC, guided by a professional mentor, to help solve company s current issue Global MNCs Education Alliance Global MNCs Education Alliance (GMEA) is an organization established by Newhuadu Business School which aims to provide the international managerial expertise with global vision and deep understanding of market operation in China and beyond, to implement strategies for Chinese MNCs to go global, and to promote the international talent recruitment network. The goal of GMEA is to provide a strong support for the international elites in pursuing higher education and establishing future career with a focus on China. GMEA will offer scholarships for the SCIP students to cover the tuition based on applicant s merits.
