CV Gerardo Pulido M. www.gerardopulido.com Artist, lives and works in Santiago, Chile. Was born in 1975, in the same city. Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) PhD in Artistic Education, University of Seville, Spain, 2005. Post-graduate and Bachelor Degree in Visual Arts, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile; in 2002 and 1999, respectively. He did an artist residency at the Victorian College of the Arts (Australia, 2009) and also participated in the RIAA (the International Residency for Artists in Argentina, Argentina, 2008). He began to work in 1998 and has had exhibitions in Bogota, Buenos Aires, London, New York, Melbourne, Porto Alegre, Santiago (Chile), Tours, Valdivia, Valparaiso and Washington D.C., including Seven Paintings for Lord Willow, Die Ecke Contemporary Art, Chile, 2011; Traveling Light: Five Artists from Chile, Art Museum of the Americas, USA, 2011; Damien Hirst/Gerardo Pulido, House of Propellers gallery stand, Ch.ACO Art Fair, Chile, 2011; Tectonic Shift: Contemporary Art from Chile from the Juan Yarur Collection, Saatchi Gallery-Philips de Pury, England, 2011; Flujo. He has received several acknowledgements, such as: Chilean representative at the 1er Concurso Arcos Dorados de Pintura Latinoamericana (1st Golden Arches Latin-American Painting Contest), Argentina-Colombia, 2010; The AMA Scholarship, Chile, 2008; the National Funding for the Arts Granted by the National Council of Culture and Arts, Chile, 2006 (as coauthor in 2009 and 2011), the MAE and AECI Grant, Spain, 2005-2003; on two occasions he receives the award for most accomplished professor (2011, Diego Portales University; 2008, The Universidad del Desarrollo), Chile. He has written essays on visual arts in several publications, as co-editor and co-creator of the magazine Indice, documento de arte y crítica (Index, document for art and art critic) between 1997 and 2001, as well as co-editor of Diálogos Die Ecke (Die Ecke Dialogues) between 2009 and 2010. Since 2006 he has also been a professor for the Bachelor Degree in Visual Arts at the Pontifical Catholic University and the Diego Portales University, Chile. In 2010, alongside four Chilean artists, he creates and integrates BLOC, a workshop for artistic production and development, in Santiago, Chile. In Chile, his work is represented by the Patricia Ready Art Gallery.
