School of Graduate Studies TERMS AND CONDITIONS - SCHOLARSHIP/FELLOWSHIPS/AWARDS GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS Registration: You must maintain full-time enrolment and be actively engaged in full-time academic pursuits in your current program. An offer of Ryerson funding is not transferable to another program. Withdrawal during a term in which a graduate student has received a Ryerson scholarship, fellowship or award will require repayment of this funding in an amount calculated based on the Ryerson University tuition refund policy, i.e. full repayment if withdrawal occurs before the final date to withdraw and be eligible for full refund of fees; 50% repayment if withdrawal occurs before the final date to withdraw and be eligible for 50% refund of fees; and no repayment required if withdrawal is after that date. Scholarship/Fellowship Renewal: A scholarship/fellowship is only tenable for the period defined in the offer. If the offer states that it is eligible for renewal, then renewal is also contingent upon a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.67 with no failed grades and a Clear academic standing. Scholarships for students in one-year programs are not eligible for renewal. If the offer states that it is eligible for renewal, then renewal is contingent upon your seeking external funding through all government programs for which you are eligible (e.g. OGS, NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR). At the Master s level, a one-year offer may be renewed for one or two terms. Under exceptional circumstances, you may apply to your Program Director for renewal for a third term. At the Doctoral level, offers are generally made for a three year period, based on achieving a 3.67 in each course and maintaining a Clear academic standing. Employment: You may also accept research or graduate teaching assistantships, or other employment up to an average of 10 hours per week or 130 hours per term. ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS Ryerson Graduate Scholarship (RGS), Ryerson Graduate Fellowship (RGF) You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.67 (or equivalent) in the last year of study prior to the commencement of the scholarship. If you accept/have accepted an external scholarship, you must forfeit/decline the RGS. Students with external scholarships are eligible to be considered for Ryerson Graduate Awards (RGA) through their program. Ryerson Graduate Award (RGA) The RGAs are awarded by your Program. Rogers Fellowship If you hold a $20,000 Rogers Fellowship and are awarded an external scholarship or award that is administered by Ryerson and that is greater than $5,000, you must accept the external scholarship in place of your Rogers Fellowship. You will then receive a Rogers Fellowship or Ryerson Graduate Award which will bring the total value to a minimum of $20,000.
