Mission and Vision Mission: The Arizona Assurance Scholars Program provides academic, financial and social support for low-income Arizona residents as a way to ensure success, retention and graduation from the University of Arizona. Vision: We seek to empower low-income students to become independent scholars and contributing members of society therefore improving the educational demographics in the State of Arizona.

Arizona Assurance Eligibility Criteria Eligibility for consideration Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 of senior year in high school Submit a complete admissions application by March 1 Be an Arizona resident Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or combined parental income of $42,400 or below High School cumulative GPA of 3.0 Pell grant eligible according to the FAFSA Enroll full-time the year immediately following high school Students who meet eligibility criteria above are Invited to complete College Board PROFILE by March 31

Arizona Assurance Funding Arizona Assurance enables students to complete a Bachelor s degree in four years with little or no debt. The essential costs covered by the program include: Tuition and fees Books Room and board Financial Aid Package includes: Pell Grant Other grants and scholarship Work Study Loans are offered to cover expenses beyond tuition, books, room and board

Continued Eligibility Renewal Criteria Arizona resident Pell grant eligible Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (2.0 GPA, and 24 units completed) Complete the FAFSA by March 1 st Be enrolled in an undergraduate program Complete success programming

Freshmen Success Programming Attend Focus on Success in August Participate in a recommended transition program or course Meet with Arizona Assurance Mentor twice a semester Meet with major Academic Advisor at least once a semester Submit mid-term progress report

Sophomore Senior Success Programming Complete Online Modules Sophomore Exploring majors and careers, internet resources for engagement Junior - Applying for graduate school, interviewing Senior Applying for jobs, life after college Meet with Advisor each semester Attend one workshop Engage in opportunities outside of class

What is PROFILE?

An online application for financial aid Available 24/7 Used by colleges and organizations to award their private funds List of institutions using PROFILE can be found on the college board website

How to file PROFILE Register Create a College Board online account https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/prf/index.jsp Save user name and password Go to PROFILE online (link above) to begin Complete the application for the correct school year Have most recent tax records and financial documents handy Click on the help text to better understand a question Submit the application Enter payment information (credit card, debit card, online check, etc) Press Submit Print out and save PROFILE acknowledgement

What are the benefits of PROFILE? PROFILE is available in January of each year used for early action/early decision & other early reads Collects income, asset and household information Provides institutions a better understanding of the family s financial situation

Is PROFILE complicated? Customized to the applicant and to the institution Simple family financial situations = fewer questions Complex family financial situations = more questions Presents only the questions relevant to the applicant Customer service available for students at 305-829-9793

When do I submit PROFILE PROFILE is available January of each year Submit the PROFILE by March 31 st at the latest Missing the due date can lead to ineligibility for the Arizona Assurance Program

Student PROFILE Fees $25 fee covers initial application processing and the first school report. $16 reporting fee for each additional college report or additional college requests (ACR) Students may pay using credit card, debit card, online check, fee waiver(automatic is eligible), or fee payment code

Fee Waivers Awarded automatically to eligible first year, dependent applicants Eligibility based on income, assets and family information Covers the cost of up to 6 PROFILE reports On average, first year applicants send PROFILE reports to 3 institutions

Fee Payment Codes Fee Payment Codes may be an option when a student does not qualify for Fee Waivers or sends more than 6 PROFILE reports Fee Payment Codes are mapped to the institution providing the code Fee Payment Codes can be used only once Students can contact their Admissions Counselor or Financial Aid Counselor for more information on obtaining a code
