Investment Objectives and Attitude to Risk These products are high risk and use leverage/gearing (see Section 9.3). The risk category is also set out in section 9.4. These products give the potential for an above average return to capital invested but also carry the risk of substantial loss, potentially in excess of your initial deposit. These products are not suitable for any investor who is seeking to preserve capital or to minimise their exposure to capital loss. Other products offer lower risk such as bank accounts which carry a low risk of capital loss where they may be covered by a deposit compensation scheme such as FSCS. Details of that scheme can be found at http://www.fscs.org.uk/ These generally give below inflation returns. British government bonds are low risk and equities are exposed to market risk. A diversified portfolio of holdings managed over time may produce returns but with the risk of some capital loss. Please confirm that the purpose of your application for an account with Chryson is speculative, and note contingent liability products involve accepting a higher degree of risk for potentially higher returns.this product is not suitable for those investors whose primary objective is capital preservation. Chryson Account Opening Form Please write in block capitals. All fields must be completed, or marked with "none" or "not applicable". 9. Initial Investment / Gearing Total initial Funds: Number of times your Capital can be Geared: Please note: Where not completed we shall assume 5 times. Please note: Where not completed we shall assume 5 times. 1. Investment objective The primary objective is the increase of capital of the portfolio by speculating on financial instruments (CFDs) with a significantly higher level of risk. You should only invest with money you can afford to lose. It is also possible that you could lose more money than you have invested. 2. Strategy Chryson strategy is modelled on a mix of both the fundamental and technical analysis of the underlying instruments, where a macro view of the economy dictates the speculation of the direction and trend in the market. The trading is facilitated by using Contracts For Differences (CFDs). Trading CFDs offers a flexible alternative to traditional investing in the assets, allowing participation in the price movement of the underlying for only a fraction of the capital outlay required to trade equities directly. CFDs may be used to speculate on an upward or downward price movements. CFDs are highly geared products and therefore, the Chryson program restricts the selection of CFDs for trading only in underlying companies that are blue chip, have a high volume of daily trades backed by good fundamentals such as high market capitalisation. Trading may also take place on indices. These are measurements of overall market movements and are not based on an individual equity. Indices to be used are set out in Section 11. 3. Gearing Chryson will use gearing in order to increase returns or reduce risk. However, your exposure through gearing should not at any time be more than the number of times specified within the application. Chryson trading is done on margin. The margin on all open positions must be maintained as collateral to cover losses (if any) in order keep the position open. Under the discretionary terms of this arrangement, margin payments will be made automatically on your behalf out of the funds available in your account. Under exceptional circumstances it is possible that your liabilities might not be covered by margin payments or closing of the position in time to avoid additional liabilities to you in excess of the funds managed by Chryson. In such circumstances, you will be required to deposit additional funds to meet such losses, which could potentially be as high as 10 times the amount invested. 4. Risk factor In line with speculative dealing on highly geared instruments, profits are not guaranteed and it is possible to make substantial losses in the capital invested. The Chryson program is suited for clients who have a wider portfolio and should only represent a small part of an overall investment strategy. Before you invest, please make sure that you fully understand the risks involved. 5. On-line Access Clients can have access to their accounts online for live account reports. 6. Redemption and liability There is no restriction or penalty on redemption so you may instruct us in writing to redeem your account at any time. The redeemable value will be at the realised value of the portfolio less any charges subject to the execution(s) following the receipt of notice. However, it is recommended that the funds are invested for a minimum of 12 months in order to benefit from the strategy. 7. Charges There are no management or performance fees. A fee is charged on the opening and closing of a transaction by the CFD provider e.g. Saxo Capital Markets Ltd, this is currently 0.2% each trade. Note that this commission applies to the total (i.e. geared up) value of the position rather than to the amount deposited as margin. Chryson operates a commission sharing scheme with its introducing brokers, e.g Saxo Capital Markets Ltd. Additional funding charges may be made by the CFD provider which relate to interest charged on open positions. Such are covered by the Terms of Business arrangements between you and that provider. Please refer to the Disclosure of Inducement section below. 8. Disclosure of Inducement Where relevant, Chryson receives a share of the charges made by CFD provider Chryson operates commission sharing arrangements with introducing brokers. We view that this commission sharing will not in any way impair our duty to act in your best interest. Chryson will pay a percentage out of the above charge to the introducing broker. The amount paid by you (as referred to above) is not altered by this arrangement. 10.
