2 Assignment #2: Who is who in Psychology? Due on the first day of class An important aspect of the AP exam is an understanding of the contributions of key psychologists. For this part of the project you will create a guide which will be helpful t you both during the course and as you review for the AP exam. You are to create a graphically organized reference guide of the key psychologists. Please note that some repeat themselves in units and so they are listed more then once. You should answer the following questions about each psychologist: a. What was the lifespan of the individual? This should provide a sense of the era b. What was the researcher s area of study? This should be a 1-5 word description tops c. What were the basics of the researcher s studies? Here you need to go into a little more detail on the area of study. What were they trying to find out? What did they believe about their area of study? Here you also need to include the names of any famous study(ies) they are known for. Any names of studies and/or theories that they are especially known for should be bold and/or underlined. You should also include: Headings for your organizer. You are free to use the ones in the example below. 4 Assignment #3 Psychology in Film Due on the first day of class Watch one of the movies listed below. Sybil What s Eating Gilbert Grape Lars and the Real Girl Awakening After watching the movie, connect the lives of the main characters, or events of film, to psychology. In order to properly complete your movie analysis you will need to do additional research. Remember, this assignment is not about summarizing the movie, it is about connecting it to psychology. While I am not imposing a page criteria, it is expected that you provide a thorough analysis that includes additional research. Be sure to cite any additional sources.

5 Assignment #4 Autobiography Due on the first day of class You will be utilizing this assignment throughout the year so be sure to save your file after completing the assignment. Case studies provide in depth research on an individual. This project provides an opportunity for you to reflect on your life thus far and consider what the future holds. Essentially, you will need to conduct a case study on yourself this school year. You will need to complete the first portion this summer. Criteria: All work should be single spaced and include a title. a. Do not include anything that breaks any laws, school rules, is libelous or in bad taste. Five autobiographical essays: A Written Autobiography of Your Life -Birth to Age 12 (one page written minimum, single spaced) The Most Important Person in My Life essay: (one page written minimum, single spaced) - Be sure to fully explain why they are the most important person in your life. Written Autobiography of Your Life- Part Two - Age 13 to Present Day (one page written minimum, single spaced) Ten-Year Goals essay (One page written minimum) -Where do you see yourself in ten years? Reflections on My Life: Who I Am or Who Am I? (one page written minimum, single spaced) What are your accomplishments? What are you most proud of?
