Routine physical exam > Routine dental exam > Routine vision exam > Flu shot > ActiveHealth Management online health tracker > ActiveHealth Management online coaching module Routine physical exam A routine physical can detect problems early on, while treatment is still an option, or while a diagnosis can be easily made. Putting off a physical can lead to serious complications, because many illnesses and diseases have no physical symptoms early on. This is why it s so important to stay on top of your health, and make sure that you re having regular check-ups. It can help to treat a problem if caught early enough, and can even avoid the problems from escalating into something more serious. It pays to be healthy! Each year, the Commonwealth will contribute $50 per Do Right into your HRA (up to $150 for employees and $300 for families).
Routine physical exam > Routine dental exam > Routine vision exam > Flu shot > ActiveHealth Management online health tracker > ActiveHealth Management online coaching module Routine dental exam It is important to visit the dentist on a regular basis as any potential problems will be identified early and appropriate action taken. Tooth decay can, if left untreated, cause the total loss of a tooth within a year. For this reason it is important to attend every 6 months but at a minimum of once per year. It pays to be healthy! Each year, the Commonwealth will contribute $50 per Do Right into your HRA (up to $150 for employees and $300 for families).
Routine physical exam > Routine dental exam > Routine vision exam > Flu shot > ActiveHealth Management online health tracker > ActiveHealth Management online coaching module Routine vision exam Periodic eye and vision exams are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms. As a result, individuals are often unaware that problems exist. Regular checkups can help your eye doctor spot signs of diabetes, brain tumors or high blood pressure. When these conditions are spotted earlier, they re easier to treat. It pays to be healthy! Each year, the Commonwealth will contribute $50 per Do Right into your HRA (up to $150 for employees and $300 for families).
Routine physical exam > Routine dental exam > Routine vision exam > Flu shot > ActiveHealth Management online health tracker > ActiveHealth Management online coaching module Flu shot The best way to reduce the effects of influenza is through annual vaccination. A flu shot is safe and effective, and the best way to help prevent influenza. Different strains of influenza often circulate each year. This is why flu vaccine is produced every year to match these specific strains and help stop their ability to cause infection. Since the viruses that circulate often change each season, it is important to get your flu shot each season to have the best protection. It pays to be healthy! Each year, the Commonwealth will contribute $50 per Do Right into your HRA (up to $150 for employees and $300 for families).

This allows you to focus on an area of wellness you d like to improve, and learn new ways to stay on a path to better health. It pays to be healthy! Each year, the Commonwealth will contribute $50 per Do Right into your HRA (up to $150 for employees and $300 for families).

The member experience Mike Cynthia
Mike > Cynthia Mike Mike elected employee only coverage in COVA HealthAware. At the start of the year, the Commonwealth put $600 in his HRA. By the end of August, Mike completed three Do Rights and earned another $150 contribution from the Commonwealth into his HRA. So, on October 1 st, Mike had $750 in his HRA. On November 1 st, Mike had a physical exam at his primary care physician s office. The physical exam cost $200, but because it s a preventive service, it was covered at 100% and didn t use any of the money in his HRA. On April 1 st, Mike visited his allergist. He s allergic to bee stings and needed to have his EpiPen prescription refilled. The allergist visit cost $100 and his EpiPen prescription cost $150. Both of these expenses were paid out of his HRA. Here s how COVA HealthAware paid his medical expenses: Mike s HRA Balance HRA Activity Initial HRA contribution of $600 $600 Plus contribution for Do Rights of an additional $150 $150 TOTAL $750 Mike s Medical Expenses HRA Activity Physical exam at a cost of $200 paid at 100% by the plan -$0 ($750) Allergist visit at a cost of $100 -$100 ($650) EpiPen prescription at cost of $150 -$150 ($500) TOTAL $500 At the end of the year, Mike rolled over $500 from his HRA to the next year. He also did not pay any medical expenses out of pocket.
Mike > Cynthia Cynthia Cynthia is a state public relations specialist. Cynthia is married to Dave, who works at another company. Cynthia and Dave are covered under her COVA HealthAware plan. She has employee plus one membership. In July, the Commonwealth deposits $1,200 in her HRA. Cynthia and Dave s HRA Activity Initial HRA contribution of $1,200 $1,200 HRA Balance TOTAL $1,200 Cynthia also puts $1,000 in a state Medical Flexible Spending Account. Cynthia and Dave s FSA Activity FSA Balance FSA contribution of $1,000 $1,000 TOTAL $1,000 In August, Dave has inpatient surgery and is hospitalized for two days. The total cost of his care for the hospital stay is $10,000, based on their use of in-network providers. Here is how COVA HealthAware covered their expenses. Cynthia and Dave s Medical Expenses Costs Payments Total expenses for Dave s inpatient surgery $10,000 Family deductible to be paid $3,000 HRA Balance -$1,200 FSA Balance -$1,000 Cynthia and Dave pay remainder of deductible -$800 Cynthia and Dave s Medical Expenses Costs Payments Remaining expenses after family deductible $7,000 COVA HealthAware 80% payment -$5,600 Cynthia and Dave s 20% coinsurance -$1,400 Five prescriptions $500 COVA HealthAware 80% payment $400 Cynthia and Dave s 20% coinsurance $100 Cynthia and Dave paid a total of $2,300 ($800 + $1,400 + $100) out-of-pocket during the year. However, after incurring these expenses, they became more aware of the importance of taking care of their health and each completed three HRA Do Rights in May. By doing this, they received a $300 HRA contribution from the Commonwealth and were able to roll over that $300 to next year s HRA.
