Pick 3 Tracking System The Nuts & Bolts of Tracking the Daily Lottery Games By Arlene Meeks Copyright 2006 Lotto Magic System Published by Harrison Media 1

Introduction As a player of the daily lottery games over the past 20 plus years, I have learned that a very important part of prognosticating the daily drawings is to track the past results. Tracking can be very involved and difficult, or it can be a simple process. The actual tracking process is fairly straight forward, but it is what you do to interpret the tracking results, that can be a little overwhelming. I personally track the results of all the three digit lottery daily games in the U.S. It is imperative that I do so, in order to provide my selections to the members of my Lotto Magic website, who are playing throughout the nation. I am asked so often for information on tracking that I decided to put this material together and make it available. You probably don t need to perform tracking that is anywhere near as involved as tracking the entire nation. You are probably just playing in your home state, and wish to track those results in an effort to win in your state lottery. This tracking module will show you how to track those drawings and come to a conclusion as you interpret those results. The goal of your tracking will be to win as consistently as humanly possible! So let s get on with it. 2

Trend Tracking 101 The first thing we must decide is what exactly we want to track. We are simply going to take a look back at the previous drawings in our state lotteries and write them down in a column on our tracking sheet. A sample tracking sheet is located in the back of this publication. Many of the states offer a day and evening drawing in their Pick 3 games. I am often asked if I separate the two drawings in my tracking. I personally do not separate the two drawings. The numbers don t know if they are in the day drawing or the evening drawing. So if I were tracking a state with two draws a day, and I did so for 5 days straight, then I would have 10 consecutive entries on my tracking sheet. I do however add a notation to each entry as to which draw it is. I do this by simply writing a d for day or an e for evening draws. You may eventually decide that you want to separate the two drawings for your tracking. This is subjective and completely your choice. The following is a sample tracking sheet. Full tracking charts are located in the back of this publication. Please print or copy for your personal use. Date Draw Repeaters Pairs Doubles 3

Column 1 We simply enter the date of the draw in the first column. As stated, I add a d or an e depending on whether it is a day or evening drawing. Column 2 - In the Second column, simply log the drawn selection in the same order it was presented. Column 3 In the third column we will enter any digit that has repeated. If a digit is drawn in the day draw, and then the same digit comes up in the evening draw, then it is a repeater. Let s assume that 123 comes up in the evening draw on Monday evening. Then on Tuesday 581 is drawn in the day drawing. Then the digit 1 is a repeater as it did come up in two or more consecutive drawings. Column 4 The fourth column is where we list the pairs contained in the drawn number. Before I go any further in explaining the fourth column, let me make sure you understand something very important. There are three types of draws that can come up in any Pick 3 drawing. The first is the most common result. It is where none of the three digits are alike, (i.e. 273, 846, 102 etc). These types of draws come up about 75% of the time. These draws are known as non-matching draws. The second type of draw is a double draw. This is where 2 of the drawn digits are alike, (i.e. 244, 771, 338 etc). These double draws hit about 24% of the time. The third type of draw is a triple draw. In a triple draw all three digits are matching, (i.e. 444, 888 etc). These types of draws only take place about 1% of the time. I very rarely include a triple draw in my picks just because of the low likely hood of them being drawn. So the only draws that we will enter into the fourth column are nonmatching draws. Each non-matching draw has three pairs to log. For example if 926 is the drawn number, then our pairs are 9-2, 2-6 and 9-6. You will notice that the pairs are listed chronologically in the order that each digit was drawn. Enter all three pairs in column four. 4

Column 5 We enter any double pairs in column 5. Please note that the digits in a double pair do not have to be drawn sequentially to be considered a double pair. For example, 224 is a double pair, just as 474 is a double pair. The double pairs would be 2-2 in the first example, and 4-4 would be the double pair in the second example. Please be very careful when making the entries to your tracking sheets. It is critical that the information you are entering is complete, and totally accurate. You will be basing your decision on this information, and if you are going to go through the efforts of doing this, then why not take an extra minute or two and be absolutely certain that you have entered the information as you intended to? So far our tracking lesson has been very simple and straight forward. If you are having questions, then please go back and re-read the information. You must fully understand everything that we have discussed up to this point. Everything we are going to do in this report is based on these initial entries, so they must be entered as I have described. Next we will start to enter some data into our tracking chart 5

Logging the Draws The chart below is a hypothetical month of tracking. I am going to simulate a state that features two draws a day. Date Draw Repeaters Pairs Doubles 1/1 - d 604 1/1 - e 542 1/2 - d 174 1/2 - e 484 1/3 - d 932 1/3 - e 371 1/4 - d 265 1/4 - e 1/5 - d 1/5 - e 1/6 - d 1/6 - e 1/7 - d 1/7 - e 1/8 - d 1/8 - e 1/9 - d 1/9 - e All we need to do with our chart initially is write down the winning draws as they are selected every day until we have enough data to begin our analysis. In the example above you can see that seven draws have been entered. There are several places in which you can obtain the winning draws. You can go to your state lottery s website for example. You can also find the draws listed in the newspapers and on their websites. Many states are now televising their drawings on live television. Most local news stations will give the day s winning numbers on their newscasts. There are many places where you can gather your data. I am sure that most sources are 99.9% accurate, but be aware that the only way to be absolutely certain that the data you are receiving is accurate is to obtain the information at your state lottery s website or hotline phone service. 6

Expanding the Data Now it is time to expand on our data by making some additional entries. Date Draw Repeaters Pairs Doubles 1/1 - d /1 - e /2 - d /2 - e /3 - d /3 - e /4 - d /4 - e 1/5 - d 1/5 - e 1/6 - d 1/6 - e 1/7 - d 1/7 - e 1/8 - d 1/8 - e 1/9 - d 1/9 - e The repeaters are digits that have repeated from one draw to the next. The number four has repeated in the evening draw on the 1 st. So we write it down in the repeater column on the day it repeated. We move on to the next drawing. In the day drawing on the 2 nd, we see that 4 has also come up, and therefore repeated again. It also repeated in the evening draw on the 2 nd. So we write it down as a repeater on both of those respective draws. So at this point the digit 4 has repeated three times. The day draw on the 3 rd offers no repeaters. However the evening drawing on the 3 rd does produce a repeater with 3 being drawn again, so we enter it in the column for that draw. The day draw on the 4 th produces no repeaters, so none are entered. Now we enter our pairs in the next column. Simply put, all non-matching draws will produce 3 pairs. If you need to, refer to the information in the previous section on how to produce these pairs. Enter them in the sequential order they were drawn. Doubles draws will produce 3 pairs also, 4-8, 8-4 and 4-4. This is an example of where the tracking can get subjective. You will have to decide how you want to treat this situation. I personally log both pairs with different 7

digits, i.e. 4-8 and 8-4. Furthermore in an effort to stay consistent, I log them each in their sequential order of the pairs. So in this case I will log the 4-8 pair, and the 8-4 pair. The double pair of 4-4 will be logged in the last column. I find that in some cases it places too much weight on these pairs by listing them like this. After all when it comes time for analysis I will be counting the 4-8 pair and the 8-4 pair as two separate pairs, even though it came from one drawn number. But the fact is, that they are drawn pairs and should be considered this way most of the time. You may eventually find that you prefer to omit one of the pairs rather than log them both. But this is exactly the sort of thing that will come to you with time and experience. Lastly I log in the double pair that was produced in the 1/2 evening draw which is 44. We now have our data expanded. Now that we have done this, we can start our analysis of the numbers. Let the analysis begin.. 8

Spotting the Trends We have very carefully entered and expanded our data. We have double checked it for accuracy, and are now ready to see what we can spot in the way of trends. For the sake of easy reference here is the table again. Date Draw Repeaters Pairs Doubles 1/1 - d /1 - e /2 - d /2 - e /3 - d /3 - e /4 - d /4 - e 1/5 - d 1/5 - e 1/6 - d 1/6 - e 1/7 - d 1/7 - e 1/8 - d 1/8 - e 1/9 - d 1/9 - e At this point we have 7 draws charted. I am stopping at this point to show the identification of the trends for a reason. You can see that as we add more and more data, it is going to become increasingly more difficult. So for this first example I want to keep things very simple. We ll add more data to our tracking sheet in the later sections. The first items we look at are the repeaters. In this case we have a very dominant repeater in the number 4. The number 3 has also repeated. Next we want to look for any repeating pairs. We can see that the combination pairs of 1-7, and also 2-5 have also repeated. At this point we are not terribly concerned with the sequential order of our pairs. Out of the two sets of repeating pairs, we only have two entries of each. For example 9

the first pair of 1-7, and then as it repeated with 7-1. For right now we don t have enough data for the order of sequence to matter. We have it one time both ways. We will pay attention to the sequence if it repeats for a third time however. With these discoveries, we can begin to formulate a couple of trends. First of all we can see that 4 is a very potent number for this state right now. It has repeated a total of three times, and has been drawn a total of five times. Secondly we can see that the number 3 is also making a strong presence. It has repeated once, and been drawn a total of two times in the seven draws. It is worth noting that the numbers 2 and 5 have also been drawn twice. We won t put allot of weight into the 2 and 5 just yet though. So after we examine the repeater column (column 3), we are liking 4 and 3. Get yourself a scratch pad and write these two numbers down. Now we take a look at the pairs column (column 4). After carefully examining the pairs we see that the pairs of 2-5, and 1-7 have each been drawn twice. Write these down on your scratch pad. The last column to take a look at is the double pair column. We see that the double pair of 4 has come up once, and no other double pairs have made an appearance yet. Write this double pair on your pad also. To summarize to this point, on the scratch pad we have written down the single digits of 3 and 4. We also have written down the two pairs of 1-7, and 2-5. Then we wrote down the doubled pair of 4-4. So I would immediately join my single digit favorites up with my pairs. This would result in picks of; 317, 325, 344, 417, 425, and 444. Since I don t use triples in my selections I would eliminate the pick of 444 all together. Here is where it can get subjective again. Remember the pairs of 1-7, 7-1, 2-5, and 5-2? We weren t terribly concerned about the sequential order because we only had one entry of each, therefore no favorite could really be established. So in a case like this I might very well mix things up a little bit. Instead of playing 317 and 417 I might change that to 317 and 471, or even 714. I might play 325 and 452 or even 524 just to mix things up. With only 7 10

draws we don t have an over abundance of data to base these decisions on. So in cases such as this we sometimes have to adjust on the fly. This will become easier for you to do as you work with the tracking more and more. There is however one more element we need to examine. Let s take a look at the sequence of the numbers that were drawn. Does any one digit dominate any one position? Right away we can see that the digit 4 has appeared 3 times in the third position. We don t have a dominate number in the other two positions. So that is something that we want to take into serious consideration. I would likely situate my playlist based on this data as follows; 317, 174, 325, 344, 254. By making these changes, we have weighted the third position with the 4, and also covered all of our repeating pairs. You can see that the very limited tracking we did uncovered some trends. At this point we don t know if they are short term or long term trends. We need more data. But as I waited for more draws to be made and logged, I would certainly head down to my lottery retailer and purchase these tickets. Depending on my bankroll and budget, I would likely play them in both the box and straight formats. For information on box vs. straight play, see the Lotto Magic Strategy Guide in the members section of the Lotto Magic website. Let s add some more data and see if we can come to a more in depth conclusion 11

Adding More Data In this section we will track some more drawings and continue to add more data to our tracking sheet. Here is our tracking sheet again, but this time with added drawings logged. Date Draw Repeaters Pairs Doubles 1/1 - d /1 - e /2 - d /2 - e /3 - d /3 - e /4 - d /4 - e 839 1/5 - d 488 1/5 - e 365 1/6 - d 425 1/6 - e 971 1/7 - d 127 1/7 - e 961 1/8 - d 125 1/8 - e 1/9 - d 1/9 - e We have now logged 8 more draws into the tracking sheet above. I like to use 15 drawings as a bare minimum when analyzing and making my selections. Ideally I suggest a minimum of 30 draws history and sometimes more. The exception to this would be for short term tracking in which you may use as few as 7 days. However, fifteen draws is a good starting point to begin to make some accurate conclusions. The next step is of course to break down the draws we just added and log our data. I have done that on the chart on the following page. 12

For ease of this demonstration I have highlighted the draws that we already logged in grey. Date Draw Repeaters Pairs Doubles 1/1 - d /1 - e /2 - d /2 - e /3 - d /3 - e /4 - d /4 - e /5 - d /5 - e /6 - d /6 - e /7 - d /7 - e /8 - d /8 - e 1/9 - d 1/9 - e We can now see that a couple more trends have developed. We can see that our key repeaters of 3 and 4 are still in the mix. 3 has come up two more times and four has hit another 2 times in these 8 draws, although neither have shown as a repeater again. It is also interesting to see that the 4 has not came up in the last position again either. We also have another repeater with 1. It is a strong repeater with three occurrences of repetition. It is also worth noting that the 1 has dominated the first position when it appeared. So after 15 draws we have the following repeaters. The numbers of 1 and 4 have both repeated three times. The numbers 3, 5 and 8 have also shown one occurrence of repetition. Next let s take a look at our repeating pairs. Immediately we see that several of our pairs have repeated. All of the pairs highlighted in yellow have shown up again. Note that the pairs of 9-1 and 1-2 have also been highlighted as they have also repeated in the last group of numbers entered. These are all significant observations because we are now beginning to identify several trends. 13

Now we want to summarize the pairs that have repeated. Here is the chart again for easier reference. Date Draw Repeaters Pairs Doubles 1/1 - d /1 - e /2 - d /2 - e /3 - d /3 - e /4 - d /4 - e /5 - d /5 - e /6 - d /6 - e /7 - d /7 - e /8 - d /8 - e 1/9 - d 1/9 - e So at this point our repeating pairs are 5-4, 4-2, 5-2, 1-7, 4-8, 8-4, 9-3, 7-1, 6-5, 2-5, 3-9, 4-5, 9-1 and 1-2. For a pair to be considered a repeater, it merely needs to appear again. It does not have to appear in consecutive draws. The fact that it has come up again within our time frame of tracking makes it a repeating pair. A look to our doubles column shows us that we also need to add one more double pair to our list. We ll add 8-8 to our doubles column. With the doubles we are not looking for repeaters again, but just the number of times they have appeared just as we do with the other pairs. So now that we have all of this doodled on our notepad, let s try to make some sense of it all. I do prefer to do my tracking with a piece of paper on my desk and a pencil in my hand. It will sound strange to some of you, but I just feel more connected to what I am doing, then if I was punching a keyboard and entering this into software. We ll use another chart to make our analysis. 14

Analyzing the Chart The next chart is what we will use to make sense out of what we have identified to this point. First list the single digit repeaters along with the numbers of times they have repeated. I use the x to represent the word times. It will help you to not confuse which is the number and which is the number used to represent the frequency. Repeaters / Frequency Pairs / Frequency Doubles / Frequency 1 / 3X 1-2 / 1X 44 / 1X 4 / 3X 1-7 / 2X 88 / 1X 3 / 1X 7-1 / 2X 5 / 1X 2-5 / 3X 8 / 1X 5-2 / 1X 4-2 / 2X 4-5 / 1X 5-4 / 1X 3-9 / 1X 4-8 / 2X 8-4 / 1X 6-5 / 2X 9-1 / 2X 9-3 / 1X In the chart above I have entered the single digit repeaters and the double pair repeaters. These are easy to identify, and let s get them out of our way and get them on the chart. Now we have to sort through the repeating pairs. We have 14 repeating pairs. By repeating pair I mean that the two digits in the pair have occurred more than once in the 15 draws. For example if 2-5 is listed as a pair and then 5-2 comes in as another pair, in another drawing, then the pair has repeated. In identifying repeating pairs we are not concerned about the sequence the digits appeared, but just that they did repeat again. In other words we are trying to determine which numbers like to hang out together. Here is what our new chart looks like with these added. Again we will list the actual pairs followed by the frequency in which it has occurred. 15

Repeaters / Frequency Pairs / Frequency Doubles / Frequency 1 / 3X 1-2 / 1X 44 / 1X 4 / 3X 1-7 / 2X 88 / 1X 3 / 1X 7-1 / 2X 5 / 1X 2-5 / 3X 8 / 1X 5-2 / 1X 4-2 / 2X 4-5 / 1X 5-4 / 1X 3-9 / 1X 4-8 / 2X 8-4 / 1X 6-5 / 2X 9-1 / 2X 9-3 / 1X To this point we have a couple of nice single digit repeaters with 1 and 4 each repeating three times respectively. We also have two double pairs that we can work into our selections. We would prefer to see something a little more dominant than just one appearance of each, but this is all we have for now, so we will use it strictly for illustration purposes. As our tracking progresses with future drawings to come, we will begin to develop a much more accurate basis of data for our double picks. Sometimes it can take 50 or 60 draws to formulate any real trends with the double pairs. However by keeping this example fairly simple with only 15 draws, you understand what you will be looking for when future doubles appear. While on the subject of doubles, I want to emphasize how profitable the doubles can be. In most states the payoff on a double draw is twice that of the normal box. So it pays to really do your homework on the doubles. They don t come up as often, and they are more difficult to predict, but when they do it results in a very nice payout. Okay, back to our repeating pairs. We will want to reduce the 14 pairs in an effort to further key in on any trend, and to hone our selections. To do this we ll look at the pairs with like digits. But before we do so, we need to establish if we have dominant digits in the three positions in which the winning numbers are drawn. 16

The chart below shows us the winning draws from the data we entered on the chart earlier. Date Draw 1/1 - d 604 1/1 - e 542 1/2 - d 174 1/2 - e 484 1/3 - d 932 1/3 - e 371 1/4 - d 265 1/4 - e 839 1/5 - d 488 1/5 - e 365 1/6 - d 425 1/6 - e 971 1/7 - d 127 1/7 - e 961 1/8 - d 125 Look at the first position in the picks in the second column. Is there any one number that dominates that first position? We can see that the number 1 has come up in the first position 3 times. We can see that the number 4 has been drawn in the first position 3 times also. From the fifteen draws in our database the number 1 has come up in the first position 20.00% of the time (3 appearances / 15 draws =.20). The number 4 has come up in the first position in 20% of the draws in our database (3 appearances / 15 draws =.20). In order to label a number in a dominant position, I would like to see a minimum of a 20% appearance rate. So in the first position we have 1 and 4 both as dominants. In the second position we see that 7 has come up three times, 6 has come up three times, and 2 has come up three times as well. They each have appeared 20% of the time, therefore they meet the minimum percentage for qualifying as being dominate in a position. In the third position we have the number 5 appearing four times, or 26.66% of the time. The number 4 appears three times or 20% of the time. The number 1 also appears 20% of the time. 17

To sum up our analysis of the dominant positions then, we have 1 and 4 in the first position. We show 7, 6 and 2 dominants in the second position. 5, 4 and 1 are dominates in the third position. Here is another chart which shows our dominators. First Position Second Position Third Position 1 / 3X 2 / 3X 5 / 4X 4 / 3X 6 / 3X 4 / 3X 7 / 3X 1 / 3X We will now attempt to use this data to reduce our repeating pairs. Repeaters / Frequency Pairs / Frequency Doubles / Frequency 1 / 3X 1-2 / 1X 44 / 1X 4 / 3X 1-7 / 2X 88 / 1X 3 / 1X 7-1 / 2X 5 / 1X 2-5 / 3X 8 / 1X 5-2 / 1X 4-2 / 2X 4-5 / 1X 5-4 / 1X 3-9 / 1X 4-8 / 2X 8-4 / 1X 6-5 / 2X 9-1 / 2X 9-3 / 1X To reduce our 14 repeating pairs we will combine any pairs that have like digits. For example take a look at 2-5 and 5-2. The pair of 2-5 has repeated three times. The pair of 5-2 has only repeated once. So we will use the dominate sequence of 2-5 when combining, and we add the number of appearances to make 4. On our chart we can cross off 5-2 and make 2-5 read that it has appeared four times. Take a look at the pairs of 1-7 and 7-1. They have both repeated two times so we do not show a dominating sequence. So to further combine them we will look for additional information. This is where our calculations for dominate position will be of use to us. This one is a little more difficult to analyze. We see that the digit 1 is dominant in the first and third positions, and the 7 is dominant in the second position. This is a very tough call. For now since the 1 has dominated the first position three times opposed to the 7 dominating the second position three times, and the 1 dominating the third 18

position three times, I will place the order of this pair as 1-7 and combine the totals of the two pairs. So now the two pairs of 1-7 and 7-1 will become 1-7 and I will log that it has come up four times. I will however keep in mind that the 7 can fit very nicely into the second position if needed when I formulate my final picks. Remember? Much of this is subjective when it comes down to the final picks. The pairs of 4-5 and 5-4 also need some further analysis. They have each repeated one time. So we look to the dominance of position. 4 has dominated the first position three times. 4 has dominated the third position 3 times as well. No help there. So we look at 5 and see that it has dominated the third position four times. That makes our choice clear and we will opt for the pair of 4-5 since it will put the 5 in the later position. Here is what the new chart looks like after I have analyzed all the repeating pairs in this manner. Repeaters / Frequency Pairs / Frequency Doubles / Frequency 1 / 3X 1-2 / 1X 44 / 1X 4 / 3X 1-7 / 4X 88 / 1X 3 / 1X 2-5 / 4X 5 / 1X 3-9 / 1X 8 / 1X 4-2 / 2X 4-5 / 2X 4-8 / 3X 6-5 / 2X 9-1 / 2X 9-3 / 1X We have reduced our 14 repeating pairs to ten. How much further we compress the data depends on how many picks we are trying to come up with. To make this demonstration a bit easier to follow I am going to go one step further. We will only use the most dominate repeaters and pairs. Repeaters / Frequency Pairs / Frequency Doubles / Frequency 1 / 3X 1-7 / 4X 44 / 1X 4 / 3X 2-5 / 4X 88 / 1X 4-8 / 3X On the chart above I have singled out the most dominating information and now have a very manageable database that will produce my selections. 19

Making Your Selections As we begin to make our final analysis it is crucial to pay attention to the data, but at the same time remain subjective. You will see what I mean in a second. Here is our final chart again for easy reference. Repeaters / Frequency Pairs / Frequency Doubles / Frequency 1 / 3X 1-7 / 4X 44 / 1X 4 / 3X 2-5 / 4X 88 / 1X 4-8 / 3X And here is our dominant position chart.. First Position Second Position Third Position 1 / 3X 2 / 3X 5 / 4X 4 / 3X 6 / 3X 4 / 3X 7 / 3X 1 / 3X So right away I want to start matching up my dominating repeaters with my repeating pairs. I will put a dominating first position 1 with 2-5 as 2 dominates the second position and 5 dominates the third position. It is a perfect fit. So we have 125 as our first selection. We can do the same thing with 4 as it also dominates the first position resulting in 425. The pick of 171 would also make sense since 1 dominates both the first and third positions, and 7 dominates the second. 485 also makes a good pick as 4 dominates the first position and 5 the third, and it hits the 4-8 pair. You could also add 484 and 481 for the same reasons. How about 174? That pick would give us our dominating 1 in the first, our dominating 7 in the second. The three isn t on our chart in the third position, but it is still a good choice because it did repeat 3 times in general (not necessarily in the same position). So to this point we have the following picks; 125, 425, 171, 174, 481, 485 and 484. We haven t worked 6 into our selection process yet, so let s do that now. How about 164, 165, 161, 464 and 461? We now thirteen picks from our analysis. We can go further. We already have 125 so let s match the 1 up with the 7 in the second position and play it with all the third position possibilities. 175 (we already have 171 & 174). We already matched up the 1 with the 6 in the second position. How about 20

playing the 4 in the first position with 2, 6 and 7 in the second positions and the 5, 4, and 1 in the third position? That gives us 424, 421, 465. We already have 425, 464 and 461 from a previous match up. Now the 4 in the first position, and the 7 in the second position, 475, 474 and 471. Let s put our 19 picks in numeric order and into another chart for easier reference. Our Picks; Our other charts again for easier reference Repeaters / Frequency Pairs / Frequency Doubles / Frequency 1 / 3X 1-7 / 4X 44 / 1X 4 / 3X 2-5 / 4X 88 / 1X 4-8 / 3X First Position Second Position Third Position 1 / 3X 2 / 3X 5 / 4X 4 / 3X 6 / 3X 4 / 3X 7 / 3X 1 / 3X I am going to now go through the picks to refine my choices. According to my tracking data the only doubles I want to be concerned with and 4-4 and 8-8. So I will reduce all the doubles that are not double 4 or 8 except one. I will keep 171 for now because it makes perfect sense and I would like to diversify my double selections with such little data in that column. The 171 pick makes sense because each digit is dominant in it s respective position. Although I do want to play for my 4-4 & 8-8, I wouldn t mind adding something different to my double picks. I only want to end up with about three double selections here, so I am going to eliminate 161 as well. With the non-desired doubles deleted, my chart now looks like this; 21

Now I look at 174 and 175. I am going to give up 174 and keep 175 for two reasons. The 5 was dominate in the third position four times versus the 4 dominating the third position only three times. Also I have the combination of 174 covered with the pick of 471. This is a very subjective move, but when you are trying to reduce your selections, these are the sort of decisions that have to be made. There is absolutely nothing on the chart that will help me choose between these two. They both have 7 as a dominate in position 2, and they both have 1 and 4 as dominates in the third and fourth positions. I like 425 and 421 so they stay for now. 424 gets deleted because it does not fit what I am looking for in the doubles. We are working towards doubles with the 4-4 and 8-8 pairs remember? The picks of 464 and 474 make sense and if I was playing strongly for doubles I would leave them. But in order to reduce the total number of picks I will delete them. I am also going to eliminate 481 and 485 as the 8 doesn t support the second position very well in the tracking. Let s re-organize our picks with a fresh chart I also wanted to cover an 8-8 double pick so I matched an 8-8 pair up with a 5 on the back. The 5 showed up four times in the third position so that made the most sense, resulting in the last pick of 885. I would further study these picks to make certain I had emphasis placed where I wanted it. After doing so I decide that I am satisfied with the picks and the only thing left to do is go purchase my tickets! 22

You may decide that you do not want to place so much emphasis on the 1 and the 4 in the first position. After all we have five picks with the 1 in the first position and we have seven picks with 4 in the first position. That is another one of those subjective decisions, and of course you are perfectly free to make them. However in this scenario the 1 and 4 were both very dominant in that first position and I believe that justifies the picks we made based on our tracking. If we are playing for straight wins, and who isn t, then it makes sense to leave the picks alone. I do not want to discourage you from following your gut instincts on these sorts of decisions though. If you feel something strongly, then go for it. 23

Summary Now you have the beginning basics of tracking the daily games. You can make it as easy or as involved as you decide to. You can track short term or for the long term. Some of the tracking that I do personally runs the course of 3 to 6 months. Other times I may track selections for as little as a couple of weeks. My main selections on my website in the group of 30 are all long term tracked. These selections require time for the trend to repeat and play itself out. My remarks in the Lotto Magic strategy guide referenced that we must pace ourselves as we are running a marathon and not a sprint race. Patience is required to play for the long term. I believe it is a much more solid approach. One might compare it to investing in the stock market. An investor can invest in blue chips stocks which are usually stocks in solid stable companies. These companies tend to be on a much more even keel and produce profits at a lower, but more consistent pace than a new start up company might. I would compare short term tracking to investing in a new start up company or even a penny stock. These are usually stocks that carry a higher risk, but can payoff huge if you hit a winner. These payoffs on short term tracking can happen in a hurry if you are on board with a winner. When I give picks to play for the weekend or the week ahead, they are from short term tracking. Short term trends do develop, and if you can catch them at the right time, you can make quick money. Timing is everything regardless if you are tracking for the long term or the short. Ideally you will track both long and short term. It doesn t mean you need to make two different tracking charts, it just means that you need to be aware of short term trends as they develop. To do this tracking you are going to be using allot of charts, and plenty of notepad paper. I use yellow legal pads for my notes as I track. I have to believe that anybody else would have a hard time trying to interpret my writings. The point is that you will develop habits and methods for making this work for you. It will get easier as you become more experienced with it. You will develop a feel for the numbers and what you are doing. I know this term of feel will seem odd to some people, but I can t think of a better way to describe it. 24

You will likely develop an intuitive knack for spotting different developments as they occur, or hopefully even before they occur. The earlier you can identify a trend, the more you will profit from it. Likewise, knowing when to back off of a trend is critical. Unfortunately there is no set time that any given trend will last. This is also something that will require experience to master. I always stress playing your (or my) picks regularly and consistently. Your tracking is the same way. In order to become better at doing it, you have to stay with it. I am sure that the vast majority of people that study this material will do some tracking for a while, and then probably give it up. I say this because it does take time and a very serious commitment. With peoples professional and family lives requiring so much of their time and attention, it becomes difficult to stay with the tracking. Others will be bored with it, as it is really not anything that is to exciting to do. I rather enjoy it for some reason and find myself absorbed in it completely at times. I know it will be difficult for many to give it that sort of commitment. But it is okay if you decide not to stay with it because I am willing to do it for you! Those that do stick with it, and develop their tracking knowledge and experience will find themselves in total control, and master of their playlist. If you decide to commit the time and effort, you will be rewarded. Maybe you will eventually have your own website where you make predictions for others. That is allot of fun I must tell you. In the original introduction letter that you read at my website, I explained that I had no desire to sell my actual system. I still feel that way. It is not for selfish reasons I assure you. If I spent the time to put my system in a nice organized text file with some colorful graphics, and package it in a jazzy binder, I am sure I could sell it for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. I have always thought it had more value if I just kept it in the family so to speak. Some families have secret recipes, I have a lottery system However what I have introduced you to here are the basic elements of tracking. You can take this basic information and develop it into your own system by working with it. You may find ways to assemble this information in ways I haven t thought of yet. You may end up being able to identify things that most others can t. You don t know until you try. 25

I am sure right now your head is swimming with all the information you have just acquired. Please spend the time to read this material again, and then maybe even a third time if needed. You will pick up on things that you didn t catch the first time you went through it. Lastly, the main reason I was hesitant to release something like this was my own time. I am not a professional teacher. I have taken my time and assembled this information in a very straight forward manner. I have kept it very simple in an effort to communicate it successfully. I have beta tested the information with inexperienced players and the testing was successful. They all reported that after spending time with this material, they were able to make sense of it, and use the tracking techniques explained. Although I am convinced that it is solid material, you may have questions. As you can imagine I am very busy with the tracking I do for my website picks, and I do spend a great deal of time with correspondence with my members. I do not have time to offer coaching on tracking. If you have questions please send them to me. I will assemble the common questions in a Frequently Asked Questions report, or possibly even update this material if needed. Of course you will receive a copy of the updated material if it comes to that. I just have a fear that I am now going to be receiving a couple hundred s each day asking me, 4 has come up in the first position on Monday and Wednesday, should I take it to my playlist? Remember I said that tracking is very subjective? Be patient with it. You will learn for yourself how you want to identify trends. Experience will be your best teacher. Unless you sat with me for several months, it would be difficult to teach you how I approach different scenarios. Stay with it and you will soon discover that what I am telling you is the gospel. I have a handful of members that took to tracking early on in their memberships. When I saw how serious they were I did share some basic information with them to help them on their way. Over the last year or so, they have all become very good prognosticators themselves. You can do it too! The next few pages include all the charts you will need to start becoming a daily game tracking machine. Good luck and all my best wishes to you. 26
