December from 08:00 am Location: Building 424, room 213 Auxiliaries at hand: Beamer, PC with PowerPoint, MS Office You may transmit your Power Point Presentation files to johe@ipl.dtu.dk before Wednesday, 17 December, 03:00 pm, or you may bring a USB stick or a CD- ROM or your own portable laptop to the exams room. A copy, left on the desktop of my computer for future courses is much appreciated The Business Plan Deadline for submittance: Thursday 11 December 12:00 noon Deliverables: Business plan (max 20 pages) with annexes. File format: PDF and/or WORD and/or EXCEL files Medium: Zip-file mail-attachments, CD-ROMs or USB sticks. No paper, please! A receipt will sent to you via mail, when readable files have been received in due time. 2 Evaluation Principle: 2/3 on the written material 1/3 on the oral presentation Quality that we are we looking for: Using skills and concepts and common sense Understanding the customer + customer value creation + market Quality of arguments and reasoning Quantified economies (In particular: cash flow analysis) Your pitch (your presentation) = your ability to summon up your company s reason for being Your individual theme: written + oral Learning Objectives A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to: Identify business opportunities Develop business ideas (Opportunity driven creativity) Develop business models Analyze markets for technological products and services Interview customers Analyze customer value creation Plan the establishment of a company (Business planning) Determine capital requirements Establish cash flow projection Establish budgets on profit/loss, assets/liabilities Calculate an equity investment Specify management competence profiles GRADE: 7-step Scale A - 12 Excellent Outstanding performance, only minor errors B - 10 Very good Above average standard with some errors C - 7 Good Generally sound, a number of notable errors D - 4 Satisfactory Fair, but significant shortcomings E - 02 Sufficiant Meets the minimum criteria Fx - 00 Fail Some more work required F - -3 Fail Considerably more work required 2
