Mr. Brown concentrates his practice in white collar criminal defense, international human rights issues, internal investigations and complex commercial litigation. He has defended clients in state and federal courts and before administrative tribunals. He is a leading figure in the developing area of law related to the regulation and enforcement of business requirements for human rights compliance. He has appeared in a number of high profile trials, including the nine-month trial involving former U.S. Secretary of Labor Raymond J. Donovan and the successful eight-year defense of senior executives of a major multinational corporation charged with environmental violations. Mr. Brown has appeared in courts in twelve states and has conducted investigations in the U.S. and in Kenya, El Salvador, the Cayman Islands, Switzerland, the Bahamas, Colombia and Sierra Leone. His international experience includes qualifying as Counsel before the International Criminal Court in The Hague and serving as Co-Lead Defense Counsel at the Special Court for Sierra Leone. Chris has been a media commentator and speaker for professional and business associations for over 25 years on all facets of business development, public relations, pricing, media relationships, social media and negotiations. She re-opened her consulting practice in February Chris began her career with IBM in sales and left corporate life as the first and only female general manager of Savin Corporation's New York Division, a business entity of 400+ employees. Before corporate life, Chris was a professional tennis teacher and coach. She taught all age groups and as the Women s Varsity

28 Coach, she led Gill St. Bernard s team to an undefeated season. Today, she is an avid weight lifter, rower, tennis player and cross trainer. She has been interviewed in all media venues on competitive strategy, pricing, negotiation skills, leadership and building relationships with the media. In 2000 she was awarded the SBA Service Award by SCORE NYC, for developing and delivering marketing seminars for small business owners in all five boroughs. Chris is the author of over 100 articles on all aspects of business development and the book, Effective Marketing for Lawyers, 2 nd ed., 2006, published by the NY State Bar Association. As the Co-Chair of the NJ State Bar s Law Office Management Committee, she created NJSBA s Rainmaker College, a three session program for tenured and new lawyers and accountants, and she programs all of the business development programs for the NJSBA ANNUAL MEETING. 31 Carol Johnston Carol Johnston joined the Administrative Office of the Courts in 2006 and serves as the Secretary to the Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics, the Committee on Attorney Advertising, and the Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law. She also answers the attorney ethics hotline. Carol clerked for Chief Justice Robert N. Wilentz then served as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Attorney General s Office, Division of Law, for 15 years. She was Ethics Officer for the Department of Law and Public Safety and a member of the Prosecutors Code of Ethics Committee. She is a graduate of Hamilton College and New York Law School.
