9 KOKOMO S An Island Cafe & Beach Bar ~ How It All Began ~ Surfer girl Macie, her beautiful sister Sophie and their brother Prince Christian lived on Grenadine Island, a tropical island in the Caribbean where the three of them surfed, built huge sandcastles and dove into the turquoise blue sea from cliffs everyday. Just across the great barrier was an Island that appeared to be uninhabited and that their father forbade them to visit. In fact, no one from Grenadine Island dared to visit this place. Grenadine residents heard things about the Island that stopped them from exploring it. One day Surfer girl Macie, Sophie and Christian decided to paddle on their boards over to the Island. As they got close to shore their curiosity got the best of them and they decided to ride in and explore the Island. They left their boards on shore and started off through the cascading palm trees when they heard the sounds of steel drums in the distance. Intrigued, they followed those Island sounds over and around the playful waterfalls to a clearing where much to their surprise they discovered a village of people who welcomed them with a party at the local pavilion. The villagers were so happy to see other people that they danced and swayed to the sounds of the Island beat, served up tasty exotic foods, drank fruity tropical drinks and sang songs that everyone knew - all to the backdrop of the turquoise sea, beautiful bright colored stores and homes, the sun setting on the horizon and night falling to soft lights and torches! Surfer Girl Macie asked a Villager what they called their Island and he said Kokomos which means friendly, festive and fun!! And so, the Island of Kokomos was discovered a place where fabulous food with a tropical flare is served by fun, friendly people who want to make your time there relaxing and enjoyable (they call it Irie ), experience the party atmosphere that seems to never end and so much more. Whether you dine in our party pavilion, surrounded by the fiery tropical sunsets or relax with a tropical cocktail on Bahama Mama s colorful porch while watching the world go by, share a romantic meal of our Castaway Tilapia with friends in Lovers Cove behind the sparkling waterfall, enjoy a Tiki Koko Shrimp in the Caribbean Room with waterfalls, tropical rock cliffs to dive from, thatched roofs from the Village and lots of colorful storefronts, sip an exotic drink at our Beach Bar with beautiful flowers reminiscent of the crowns placed on Macie, Sophie and Christian s heads by the Villagers or join Surfer Girl Macie, Sophie the Beauty and Christian the Prince for a bite in our Board Room where they are often seen parking their boards, there is a place at Kokomos for everyone in the family, your business group, winter blahs warriors or just a weary shopper!! Our single goal is to make your experience at Kokomo s a tropical ESCAPE just like the Island of Kokomo s!
