2 BAGGAGE ALLOWENCE TAILWIND AIRLINES Dear our passengers; We would like to thank you for choosing Tailwind Airlines. Following information has been prepared for you to answer any kind of questions you may have concerning your flight with Tailwind Airlines. By purchasing your ticket you accept that terms and conditions laid down here. These terms and conditions are subject to change at the discretion of Tailwind Airlines without prior notice to the passengers. Have a pleasant flight with Tailwind Airlines.
3 BAGGAGE ALLOWENCE Free baggage allowance per passenger, excluding cabin baggage is 20 kg for all Tailwind Airlines flights. Infants under 2 years are not entitled to a free baggage allowance. Following excess baggage rates are applied: INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS (Worker & Touristic Flights) 8 Euro per each kg over 20 kg MAXIMUM NUMBER OF SPECIAL TYPES OF CHECKED BAGGAGE The chart below gives a guide to the maximum items allowed on the aircraft type. This is not definite and can vary according to the booked load. The chart does not mean you can carry the total number of items in a column, i.e. B737 3 Windsurfers and 10 surfboards. Any items over the number quoted shall be accepted only on a standby basis. Passengers shall be informed that additional insurance cover is required for below items by Handling Staff. Credit card payments are at the discretion of the Handling Staff accepting payment on behalf of Tailwind. Tailwind Airlines will not be liable for injury to or loss, delay, sickness or death of such animal in the event that it is refused entry into or passage through any country, state or territory.
5 UNCHECKED BAGGAGE (CABIN BAGGAGE) Unchecked baggage is the part of the total baggage to be carried and loaded by the passenger in the aircraft cabin. Unchecked baggage is being carried under the passenger s own surveillance, responsibility and control. Appropriateness to limit of baggage size shall be researched during the check-in process before acceptance of unchecked baggage and at the boarding process finally.
6 PERMISSIBLE SIZE AND WEIGHT OF UNCHECKED BAGGAGE Cabin baggage comprises all articles not listed as personal effects but required in the cabin by the passengers during the flight. It shall be restricted to one piece and 8 kg per passenger. Maximum dimensions shall be 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Items (e.g. billiards clubs, baseball clubs, umbrella, knife, etc ) which can endanger and sport equipments, animal over than 5 kilos shall not be accepted to the cabin. Tailwind Airlines reserves the right to refuse carriage of baggage due safety and security reasons.
7 NON-RESPONSIBILITY Tailwind Airlines is not responsible for fragile or perishable items, sports equipments, instruments, items having a special value such as jewellery/money, precious metals, silverware, antiques, heirlooms, computers, personal electronic devices, negotiable papers, medicines, medical items, securities or other valuables, business documents, passports, samples, other identification documents and items which are not permitted to be carried. We strongly recommend all passengers obtain adequate travel insurance cover prior to their journey. Tailwind Airlines do not accept any responsibility for personal belongings misplaced or lost on board the aircraft or in the airport terminal. Any items located on board are forwarded directly to the lost property offices at the airport of destination. Tailwind Airlines does not take any responsibility for baggage without tags which is not checked in the name of ticket or boarding card holder.
8 PREGNANT WOMEN Expectant mothers must inform Tailwind Airlines or authorized handling Staff by Tailwind Airlines about the number of weeks of their pregnancy and any health complications in relation thereto. Transportation of pregnant woman whose length of pregnancy did not exceed 28 weeks (inclusive) shall be accepted without doctor s certificate. Passenger s declaration is essential about traveling of pregnant women. a) Tailwind Airlines will carry the pregnant woman: whose length of pregnancy has exceeded 28 weeks of pregnancy but has not reached the end of 36th week of pregnancy only based upon a written doctor certificate allowing such carriage for SINGLE uncomplicated pregnancy, Tailwind Airlines shall not accept the expectant mothers whose length of pregnancy exceeds 36 weeks to travel for single uncomplicated pregnancy, b) whose length of pregnancy has exceeded 28 weeks of pregnancy but has not reached the end of 32nd week of pregnancy only based upon a written doctor certificate allowing such carriage for MULTIPLE uncomplicated pregnancy. Tailwind Airlines shall not accept the expectant mothers whose length of pregnancy exceeds 32 weeks to travel for multiple uncomplicated, c) whose complicated pregnancy, only based upon a written doctor certificate.
9 PREGNANT WOMEN Pregnant passenger shall submit such medical report at the check in, otherwise Tailwind Airlines is entitled to refuse the carriage of pregnant passenger. Doctor s certificate/medical report shall be dated within maximum 7 days prior to departure to ensure that the passenger fit to fly and shall state that Passenger has no objection to travel by aircraft. Tailwind Airlines shall not be held liable for any damage to life or health of pregnant passenger caused by air carriage if passenger does not comply with the regulations of Tailwind Airlines. The pregnant passenger is solely liable for all the consequences to her medical conditions induced by the air carriage. In case of Tailwind Airlines refuse to carry the pregnant passenger on its flights due to failure of the pregnant passenger to comply with the conditions stated above, such pregnant passenger is not entitled to reimbursement of fare. The expectant mother shall be discreetly asked, preferably by female staff, for the expected date of confinement. New mothers shall not be accepted to travel within first 48 hours of giving birth. After first 48 hours, till the end of first 7 days passengers shall present medical report that specify the mother s and the infant s fitting to fly.
10 UNACCOMPANIED MINORS-UM GENERAL Unaccompanied children of completed 6 years of age shall not be accepted for travel on any flight. Children between 6 (completed) and 12 years of age shall be accepted for traveling alone within maximum number of 8 in one flight. Under no circumstances an UM shall not be allowed to wander off alone. Particular care shall be paid and required assistance shall be offered to UM who are affected by a flight diversion or other flight irregularity. UM passengers who have connection flight are not allowed. DEPARTURE PROCEDURE They are accompanied to the airport of departure by the children s parents or legal guardians or an adult authorized by them. That the adult shall deliver to the Handling Staff at the airport of children s departure documents necessary for their travel, and shall fill in completely Tailwind Airlines UM form. UM passengers shall remain in the parent s or guardian s care until the flight is called for embarkation. Handling Staff shall accompany the minors to the aircraft and will personally transfer to the responsibility of their care to the SCCM. The sender adult shall be requested to stay at the airport until the aircraft has taken off. UM passengers shall be stated on PSM message which is sent to all concerning stations. UM passengers shall always be pre-boarded. Once on board the child is handed over to SCCM who will assume responsibility for the duration of the flight.
11 UNACCOMPANIED MINORS-UM ARRIVAL PROCEDURES On the arrival of the flight, SCCM will hand the child over to the care of the Handling Staff meeting the flight. Full responsibility is then assumed by the Handling Staff until the child is handed over to the person designated by the parents or the guardians at the airport of arrival. If the escort is not immediately available upon arrival the UM shall remain in the direct care of the Handling Staff until collected. Every effort shall be made to contact the arrival escort. Before handling the child over to the arrival escort, proof of identity shall be required. If in doubt refer to a higher authority and seek Police involvement. Any assistance shall be given with baggage collection, toilet arrangement and immigration formalities, customs clearance etc
12 EMERGENCY EXIT SEAT USAGE Emergency exit seat shall be used for persons who are capable and able to understand emergency exit instructions in international language or local language of the crew. PRMs and children under 15 years old and infants shall not be seated on exit rows.
13 Seat Configuration FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AND INFANTS Babies shall not be accepted for travel within the first 48 hours after birth even if passenger has medical report. After first 48 hours, till the end of first 7 days passengers shall present medical report that specify the mother s and the infant s fitting to fly. Premature and/or unhealthy babies shall only be accepted for travel after presenting of medical clearance and they must be accompanied by qualified doctor or nurse. Neither adults with babies or children smaller than 15 years old are allocates seats in emergency exit rows. Infants do not have right to carry free checked baggage. Infants do not have their own separate seat right. Each person shall travel with maximum one infant. If there is a second infant traveling, there shall be another adult to care for the second infant. It is the responsibilities of the passenger to provide sufficient care for the infant. If a doubt exists regarding the age of an infant the passport or ID of the passenger shall be checked carefully. Passengers traveling with children and infant should be assisted and preboarded.
14 MEDICAL CASE Medical clearance is required for the passengers due to clinical cases with medical pathology progress. Some disabled and sick passengers are required a Doctor s certificate/medical report which has to be dated within maximum 7 days prior to departure to ensure that the passenger is acceptable to authorities. The certificate shall also provide information of the passenger s condition and state that Passenger has no objection to travel by aircraft and information of care he/she may require in flight. Medical clearance shall be in Turkish or in English. In case the medical clearance is in any other language, an additional document with the phrase Passenger has no objection to travel by aircraft shall be prepared by he Station Authorities with the name and title, be signed and attached to the original report. After the completion of this process, sick passenger shall be accepted to the flight.
15 MEDICAL CASE The following passengers shall be accepted only with a medical clearance whenever Tailwind Airlines or Handling Staff on behalf of Tailwind Airlines in contact with the passenger(s) has received information that if: a) Passenger with stretcher b) Pregnant women after completing 28th week. c) Passenger(s) with contagious, infectious disease (e.g. open tuberculosis, hepatitis, scarlet fever, diphtheria, measles, rubella, chicken pox, mumps and viral infections), after contagious period. Medical clearance shall specify that there is no risk of infection to the other passengers. d) Passenger(s) declaring that has suffered a heart attack, stroke, chest and brain disease and experienced related disease medical operations, (by-pass, angiography, open heart operation, brain operation etc ). e) Observed any indication surgical operation within last 8 weeks. f) Passenger(s) has shortness of breath related to asthma, acute pulmonary and heart disease g) Passenger(s), because of the physical or behavioral condition, is likely to be hazard or cause discomfort to other passengers and/or crew members
16 MEDICAL CASE h) Passenger(s) can be considered to be a potential hazard to the safety or punctuality of the flight, (including the possibility of a diversion of the flight and unscheduled landing). i) Passenger(s) has a medical condition which may be adversely affected by the flight environment, j) Passenger(s) with plaster within first 24 hours of covering with plaster k) Babies and new mothers after first 48 hours, till the end of the first 7 days. Such passengers shall be subject to prior clearance for air travel by a medical doctor on the basis of information in respect of their physical and/or mental condition does not prevent the travel by aircraft. Additionally, when Tailwind Airlines or Handling Staff on behalf of Tailwind Airlines receiving a request for travel has reasonable grounds for doubt about the passenger s incapacitation, then shall require medical information and/or clearance. Passengers not falling into the above categories normally do not need medical clearance, however, if in doubt, medical clearance shall be obtained. Tailwind Airlines can deny transportation to passengers needing medical clearance, unless they meet the requirements of Tailwind Airlines.
17 UNACCEPTABLE PASSENGERS IRRESPECTIVE OF MEDICAL CLEARANCE The following categories of passengers shall not be carried under any circumstances on Tailwind Airlines aircrafts: a) Passengers who have contagious/infectious disease (e.g. hepatitis, open, tuberculosis, scarlet fever, Vermicelli-Chickenpox, diphtheria, measles, rubella, mumps, viral infections) during infective stage of illness. b) Passengers whose appearance would be offensive to fellow passengers, c) Pregnant woman whose length of pregnancy is over than 32 weeks (inclusive) for multiple pregnancy and over than 36 weeks (inclusive) for single pregnancy d) Passengers who needs medical treatment by pneumatically with pressure or electrically operated apparatus or instruments which for specific reasons which is not allowed to be operated on board. e) Passengers who have asthma crisis and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome just before the flight, at the airport.
18 UNACCEPTABLE PASSENGERS IRRESPECTIVE OF MEDICAL CLEARANCE If passenger does not declare her/his medical case at check-in Tailwind Airlines Station Manager or Station supervisor and handling Staff where Tailwind Airlines Station Management is not available are not responsible of decision of the passenger s carriage. If ground time is not enough to request a report from a doctor of medicine, the Commander of flight is responsible to accept or refuse carriage of passenger. In this case passengers who have connection are not acceptable to fly. It is essential that on time operation shall be guaranteed in such case. Passengers shall be accepted as long as passengers acceptance shall not cause to delay. After the necessary medical clearance has been obtained, the following action should be taken by handling Staff: All incapacitated passengers shall be pre-boarded and their presence advised to the operating crew. Particular care should be taken to ensure that such passengers are seated in the appropriate area of the aircraft i.e. not in and adjacent to an emergency exit rows.
19 MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS It is not permitted to check-in more passengers than the maximum permitted number. The maximum number of infants shall be reduced by the number of unaccompanied minors or passengers with wheelchair. The Commander shall be informed before departure of any PRM on board. Number of Incapacitated Passenger without Escort shall be equal to the number of Cabin Attendants on relevant flight The maximum permissible number of passengers and infants shall be restricted by the number of seat belts and life jackets (when required) on board. Emergency exit rows shall not be used for PRMs.
