ELITE is a platform to facilitate long-term structured engagement between Europe s most ambitious growing businesses, industry experts and the corporate advisory and investor communities. Bomi Group Italian ELITE company case study Bomi Group joined ELITE in April The company provides outsourcing logistic services and specialized solutions in the medical and diagnostic sectors. In March 2014 Bomi issued a bond for an amount of 1.5M, the company also raised money through state owned institutions that are Partners of the ELITE programme. In May 2014 Bomi completed a joint venture deal in the Netherlands in order to strengthen its international reach. In November 2014 the company successfully completed Phase 2 of ELITE. The feedback after 2 years of the ELITE programme is outstanding. Going for Growth: learning the business of being Elite. The head of the London Stock Exchange wants to discover a new corporate giant. Apr 14 ELITE, a programme helping companies to meet advisers, attract investors and develop strategies for growth. The scheme is led by the London Stock Exchange, which, while hoping that eventually some participants will become candidates to float, is intent primarily on improving the management of fast-growing businesses. Nov 14 The businesses on the Elite programme are distinct from many mid-sized counterparts in that they're hungry. Nov 14 ELITE offers a unique platform to support the introduction to capital markets of some of UK's most promising companies. ELITE is a way of getting SMEs to think more broadly about what they're doing. SMEs don't have the time or the resources to think about strategic growth on a daily basis. Access to the right kind of finance is critical to growth and firms must be able to understand, have access to and be confident in choosing between different options. The CBI is proud to support ELITE in bringing together a vibrant network of stakeholders from all stages of the funding ladder, including corporate, investor, advisory, research and public sector partners, to support highgrowth firms to fulfil their potential. Two Belfast firms are to join the latest cohort of the London Stock Exchange Elite programme set up to support high-growth private companies. Scottish Hi-tech start-ups boosted by initiative London firms in the vanguard to join LSE s ELITE programme.. A key objective of Elite is to create a unified culture for UK SMEs as a means of stimulating overall economic growth in the UK. ELITE will further raise the profile of the tech sector amongst professional investors, helping to build essential sector expertise to compete with the pull of the US markets and ensure that British firms create high quality jobs here in the UK. 10 How do supporters get involved? Being part of the vibrant ecosystem that supports and promotes innovation, entrepreneurialism and growth brings many benefits. 11 How to join as a company Requirements To become part of the ELITE community, a company must: commit at the most senior level (i.e. CEO/CFO) for a minimum of 18 months be revenue generating, usually 5m demonstrate progress to date and growth potential. The process Detailed discussion with London Stock Exchange to ascertain your business needs. Completion of the application form and providing relevant information. Application discussed by a selection committee. On approval, we will communicate the planned programme for you and your ELITE peers and start working with you. Page 11

12 Other questions (1/2) Who from the company should participate in this initiative? ELITE is aimed at the executive level in a company, i.e. the CEO or CFO. As every company s needs are different, we will discuss and agree on the relevant individual with each applicant. If appropriate, we may also allow for two individuals from the same company to participate. Is there an accreditation? A company will be awarded a certificate from London Stock Exchange on completing the Get Fit stage of the program. There is no formal academic accreditation as ELITE is not an executive education program. We ve already done some fundraising are we too late to join? There is no upper size limit for ELITE applicants. The program is aimed at companies that are looking for a step change in their business plans and funding resources. In fact, many companies on the programme have had some experience of raising external capital. We are happy to discuss further with you. How much does this cost? 15,000 for the three phases. Page 12

13 Other questions (2/2) What are the time requirements on the company? The Get Ready phase requires a one-and- a- half-day commitment every six weeks over the first 6 months. In the following months, the cohort will get together every eight weeks or so to ensure regular engagement. To the extent possible, the specific timings of the modules, workshops and sessions will be scheduled around the needs of the cohort. What happens on completion? You become part of an extensive alumni network and continue to have access to regular events and networking opportunities. Why is London Stock Exchange running this initiative? Will my company be expected to go public? ELITE enables companies to benefit from LSEG s small and mid-cap experience and existing relationships with the advisory and investor community. Our experience as an operator of capital markets combined with support from the business and investor community will help deliver a comprehensive service for growing UK businesses helping to create a vibrant ecosystem over the longer term. How are the European programmes linked? From February 2015 every member will have access to the entire ELITE community across the European jurisdictions with whom they can connect directly with via the web platform. Page 13
