1 FUZZY COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION METHOD FOR THE EVALUATION OF HUMAN CAPITAL IN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM: A CASE STUDY *PROFESSOR P. SHEELA; **MR. R.L.N. MURTHY * PROFESSOR, DEPT OF FINANCE, GITAM INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, GITAM UNIVERSITY, VISAKHAPATNAM. **RESEARCH SCHOLAR, GITAM INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, GITAM UNIVERSITY, VISAKHAPATNAM. ABSTRACT Human resources are the most valuable capital for sustainability and success of any organization. Universities also, like any other organization, needs to know their human capital value of their organization and improve the human capital (HC) value for the achievement of the best university status. But, human capital valuation is still in its research phase. The crux of the problem is quantifying human capital with the help of qualitative factors. These qualitative factors are intangible in nature and there always exist in uncertainty. Uncertainty arises due to vagueness and imprecision in understanding linguistic variables. There is a need for a comprehensive method for evaluation of human capital and its quantification with qualitative factors in the university system. The fuzziness of linguistics can better be solved with fuzzy logic and fuzzy comprehensive method which comes handy in quantifying the human capital with qualitative factors. This research paper proposes a comprehensive method for the evaluation of human capital in the management institution of a deemed to be university. Factors of human capital in the institution of a university was taken on the lines of the criteria laid down by the University Grant Commission (UGC) on Teaching, learning & evaluation, Research, Administration and professional development factors along with the help of discussion the authors had with head of the management institution in university and there by evaluated the value of human capital with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. The evaluation results show that the human capital of the management institution in the university is just good and needs lots of initiation both by the faculty as well as by the institution to motivate and direct the best outcome from the faculty for the best result.
