1 RESIDENTIAL ENGINEERED HARDWOOD LIMITED WARRANTY Limited Warranties for Q Wood Brand Locking Engineered Hardwood Floors with Opulux Performance Enhanced Finish Manufacturing Defects Q Wood by Quick Step * ("Q Wood") warrants to the original buyer ("Buyer"), the Q Wood prefinished engineered hardwood floors ("Q Wood floors") to be free from manufacturing defects for as long as Buyer owns the home. Hardwood is a natural product and may have naturally occurring variations in grain and color, mineral streaks and knots. The owner/installer of a Q Wood floor must use reasonable selectivity and hold out or cut off objectionable naturally occurring blemishes prior to installation. Installation is considered acceptance of quality. Finish Warranty Q Wood hereby warrants to the Buyer that the factory applied finish of Q Wood engineered wood floors will not wear through or will not lack finish adhesion as a result of normal use. Normal use is defined as foot traffic in an owner- occupied single- family residence. The length of this warranty varies by product. Please see product sample or your retailer for duration of this warranty on specific products. Diminished gloss is not considered wear- through of the finish. In the event the finish wears through or releases from the Q Wood floor during the limited warranty period, Q Wood will, at its option, repair or replace the affected planks or area, prorated over the remaining life of this warranty. This warranty is conditioned upon Q Wood s receipt of notice in writing from the Buyer of the alleged defect prior to expiration of the limited warranty period and evidence that the Q Wood floor is not subject to any of the limitations described below. Structure Warranty Q Wood warrants to the Buyer of Q Wood engineered wood flooring products that, under normal use, the plies will not separate for as long as the Buyer owns the home. Q Wood will, at its option, repair or replace any defective planks at no cost to the Buyer. Moisture Warranty Q Wood warrants to the Buyer of Q Wood engineered wood flooring products against moisture damage due to topical spills or subfloor moisture for as long as the Buyer owns the home. Topical spills of normal household substances (food and beverage) must be removed promptly. Topical spills allowed to remain on the floor for any considerable time will damage the Q Wood floor and void this warranty. 2 appliances (icemakers, dishwashers, clothes washers, etc.) are not topical spills and are not covered by this warranty. Q Wood flooring may be installed on, above or below grade on all common subfloors and are warrantied against damage from subfloor moisture if the following conditions are met: Written verification that the concrete subfloor has moisture of no more than 3 lbs./1000 square feet/24 hours using a calcium chloride test; Written verification that the concrete subfloor has an acceptable reading using an electronic concrete moisture meter; Written verification that the wood subfloors have a moisture reading of less than 13% using an electronic wood moisture meter; and Adhesive meeting the Q Wood specifications is used. It is important that you keep your original sales receipt showing an appropriate adhesive was installed (adhesive specifications are listed on the installation instructions, current installation instructions can be found at us.quick- step.com/qwood). If the floor fails due to the incursion of moisture from the subfloor, Q Wood will replace the damaged material at no cost to the Buyer for one time only, provided that testing approved by Q Wood indicates that moisture penetrated the subfloor. This includes material only. Labor is excluded from this warranty and labor costs must be incurred by the Buyer. Jobsite Conditions Q Wood flooring must be acclimated before installation. The purpose of acclimation is to allow the moisture content of the wood to adjust to normal living conditions at the site. These are the temperature and humidity conditions that will typically be experienced when the structure is occupied. The room temperature must be within a range of F, with relative humidity in a range of 35 55%. These environmental conditions are specified as pre- installation requirements and must be maintained for the life of the product. Environmental conditions consistently outside of these parameters could result in product performance problems that would not be covered under these warranties. Limitations on Liability If Q Wood determines that one or more of the above warranties apply to a claim by Buyer, Buyer's exclusive remedy and Q Wood's sole liability on any claim, whether in tort, contract, or breach of warranty, shall be limited to either (1) the repair or replacement of the defective Q Wood floor for the affected area only, or (2) the refund of the applicable purchase price. Q WOOD HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES WHATSOEVER, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN NO EVENT SHALL Q WOOD HAVE ANY OTHER LIABILITY OR ANY MONETARY LIABILITY TO BUYER IN EXCESS OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE Q WOOD FLOOR. Q WOOD EXPRESSLY EXCLUDES AND SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND. This warranty does not cover finish defects unless the square footage of such

3 defective flooring exceeds ten percent (10%) of the total square footage of your purchased flooring. If Q Wood shall elect to repair or replace the Q Wood floor which has proven defective, then Q Wood will supply a new Q Wood floor of the same color and grade, if available. If such Q Wood floor is unavailable or discontinued, Q Wood reserves the right to supply a Q Wood floor of similar value and appearance. Q Wood shall be limited in replacing a floor proven defective one time only. After which, no further warranty exists. These limited warranties do not apply to Cabin grade or other downgraded or discontinued Q Wood floors and any such product(s) are sold "as is". Any and all representations, promises, warranties or statements by Q Wood or its agents that differ in any manner from the terms of these limited warranties shall be of no force or effect unless in writing, signed by a duly authorized officer of Q Wood. Any of the following shall void and invalidate the above limited warranties: Visible Defects Boards with visible defects must not be installed. Visible defects are those defects which are apparent on the face of the flooring. Boards with visible defects must be noted by the installer and reported before installation so that replacement flooring can be furnished before installation. Building Settling or Uneven Subfloor Building settling or uneven subfloors are considered to be part of the pre- installation inspection process. Do not install the Q Wood floor if these situations exist. Q Wood s limited warranties do not cover damage or defects caused by settling or uneven subfloors. Improper Installation Q Wood floors must be installed in strict accordance with Q Wood s written installation instructions. Improper installation done in a way that is contrary to Q Wood s written installation instructions can cause problems with a floor. Q Wood s limited warranties do not cover damage or defects caused by improper installation. Improper Maintenance or Inadequate Care Your floor requires maintenance. Q Wood floors must be maintained in accordance with Q Wood s written maintenance instructions. These limited warranties do not cover damage or defects caused by improper maintenance or inadequate care. Accidents, Abuse or Abnormal Wear Q Wood s limited warranty does not apply to damage or defects resulting from accidents, abuses, or abnormal usage which stain or scratch the finish, diminish gloss, or indent the surface of the Q Wood floor. Q Wood s limited warranties also do not cover damage or defects caused by heavy or concentrated foot traffic, damage by pet claws (nails), or failure to protect the Q Wood floor from sand, gravel or other abrasives by use of walk off mats. Indentations from High Heels on Shoes A high heel can concentrate as much as 2,000 pounds per square inch on the floor. This type of heel has a diameter of approximately ⅜", and walking on any wood surface with high heels is considered an abusive situation. Q Wood s limited

4 warranties do not cover damage or defects caused by high heels, shoes in need of repair, or golf cleats. Problems with Excessive Moisture or Dryness Q Wood s limited warranties do not cover damage or defects caused by wetting or the presence of excessive moisture, or by conditions which are too dry. Flooding, acts of God, plumbing accidents, leaking appliances (icemakers, dishwashers, clothes washers, etc.) are not covered by this warranty. See Q Wood s written installation instructions for more details. Excessive Lighting Q Wood s limited warranties do not cover damage or defects, including, but not limited to, color change caused by excessive sunlight or intense lighting. Excessive sunlight or intense lighting can cause color changes in the finished product. Window treatments will usually provide adequate protection against excessive sunlight or intense lighting. Additionally, due to the effects of excessive sunlight or intense lighting, new and/or replacement Q Wood floors may not match display samples and/or existing flooring. Difference from Samples Q Wood s limited warranties do not cover the differences that can be seen between color samples and color of installed floors. Please approve the color of the actual Q Wood floor prior to installation. Radiant Heating Engineered hardwoods may be used with radiant heating systems provided they are installed in compliance with Q Wood s written installation instructions. Transferability These warranties apply only to the original Buyer and to the Q Wood floor in its original installation. These warranties are not transferable. Your Obligation to Q Wood As the Buyer of our Q Wood floor, you agree to follow all installation, care and maintenance directions as related to Q Wood floors. You also agree to allow Q Wood an opportunity to repair any claimed defects. Q Wood must be given the opportunity to inspect the flooring installation prior to any removal or repair that will be submitted for warranty coverage. The original proof of purchase must be supplied along with a warranty claim submission. 5 Q Wood Locking Engineered Hardwood with Opulux Performance Enhanced Finish Care and Maintenance Recommendations Everyday Cleaning Your Q Wood Engineered Hardwood floors feature patented Uniclic technology and are very easily maintained. Simply use our Opulux Hard Surface Cleaner and a terry cloth or micro- fiber mop to clean everyday dirt and spills. This product has been specially formulated to safely clean the Opulux Performance Enhanced Finish without damaging your floor. Opulux Hard Surface Cleaner Instructions: 1. To maintain and protect the appearance of your floor, a regularly scheduled cleaning routine should be established. Routinely sweep, dust mop, or use a vacuum with a soft bristle brush once a week or more often in heavily trafficked areas to remove any particles that could damage your floor. Warning: Vacuums with a beater bar or power rotary brush head can damage a wood floor and should never be used. 2. Apply the Opulux Hard Surface Cleaner directly on a cotton, terry cloth, or micro- fiber mop for use. Never apply the cleaning solution directly to the surface of the floor. 3. Use a back and forth motion when cleaning your floor. If the mop head becomes soiled, simply replace it with a clean one (using a soiled mop head may cause streaking). Performance Accessories mop covers are washable and re- usable. When dirty, simply wash and dry as you would any towel. DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER WHEN WASHING MOP COVERS. Renewing your Opulux Performance Enhanced Finish Floor Whenever necessary and depending on wear and tear, the Opulux finish of your floor can be easily refreshed. Q Wood Renewal Revitalizing Solution is an easy to use product that restores and protects the floor. Optimal use of Renewal Revitalizing Solution is when the Opulux finish shows wear or damage due to heavy, abrasive traffic or light scratching. This treatment can be used for spot maintenance or used over the entire room(s). Q Wood Renewal Revitalizing Solution Instructions: 1. Sweep, dust mop, or use a vacuum with a soft bristle brush to remove any particles that could damage your floor. Warning: Vacuums with a beater bar or power rotary brush head can damage a wood floor and should never be used. 2. Clean the floor or area thoroughly using the everyday cleaning process described above. 3. Let the floor dry completely. 4. Spray Renewal directly onto the surface of your Opulux floor, or apply the product with a cotton or terry cloth. Use a minimal amount of product to prevent the floor from becoming sticky. 5. Work with small sections that can be completed in 15 minutes or less; 10 minutes on hot, dry days (no more than 120 F). 6. Allow the product to stand on the floor for 1-2 minutes. 7. Wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. Continue wiping until the surface feels completely dry. 8. Under ambient conditions recommended in the installation instructions, flooring can be walked on again in 4-6 hours. Warning: Do not use any liquid on the treated area for 7 days following application. Care and Maintenance of a Q Wood Renewal Revitalizing Solution Treated Floor

6 After application of Renewal Revitalizing Solution, do not clean the surface with liquid cleaners or water for 7 days. You may vacuum or dry mop during this time but do not apply any liquid to the surface of the treated area. If, accidentally, liquid gets on the surface within 7 days, you may need to repeat the refreshing process explained above. Heavy Wear or Damaged Areas If a treated floor shows too much wear (in patches or overall) or if the finish has worn through, we recommend replacing the flooring planks in this area using the excess flooring from your original installation. Quick Step recommends this step be carried out by skilled installers. Very Important: Only use the Q Wood products outlined in these instructions. Do not use any other cleaning or maintenance products as these may damage the Opulux Performance Enhanced Finish. Tips & Warnings Sweep, dust mop, or use a vacuum with a soft bristle brush regularly. Remove spills promptly and use Opulux Hard Surface Cleaner with a clean cloth to remove spills. Use felt protectors under heavy pieces of furniture and chairs. Use protective mats at all exterior entrances. Spiked heels or shoes in need of repair can severely damage the floor. Replace hard plastic, metal casters or wheels on furniture with soft rubber casters or by using a protective mat under the casters. Never use a wet mop on wood floors. Water can cause damage to wood flooring. Only use approved Q Wood products for floors with Opulux Performance Enhanced Finish. Never use detergent, soap, oil, wax, polish, liquids, or other household cleaning products on your floors. The sun s UV rays can change the color of your floor. Use protective window coverings to protect hardwood floors from excessive heat during periods of direct sunlight. Keep animal nails trimmed as recommended by your veterinarian. Protect the floor when using a dolly for moving furniture or appliances. Never slide or roll heavy furniture or appliances across the floor. Never use steam cleaners on wood floors. This will force moisture into the wood and cause damage to the flooring. Floor Mats o Exterior Mats: Use walk off mats at all exterior entrances. Have interchangeable mats for each exterior entrance. This allows a soiled mat to be replaced with a clean mat weekly during regularly scheduled cleaning. Clean the soiled mat so you ll always have a fresh one to replace the soiled one. This will prevent mats from becoming the soil source. The mat should contain a combination of soft and stiff fibers. The soft fibers will absorb liquids the stiff fibers work to remove mud. The majority of soil and damaging particulate are brought into the home on the soles of shoes. o Interior Mats: Routinely clean under area rugs and mats. Soil or particulate allowed to remain underneath will have an abrasive effect on the floor finish.
