8 Craps The Boss Media programmers did a fine job with craps, which is a difficult game to do well. They offer two times odds on all points. The combined house edge on the pass line and the odds is 0.606%. The don't odds are correctly relative to the amount the player can win (a rule few Internet software companies get right). The combined house edge on the don't pass and laying odds is 0.455%. Buy and lay bets only charge the 5% commission only on winning bets and always based on the amount won. Place to win and proposition bets are offered according to the usual rules. The field bet pays 2:1 on both 2 and 12. Following is the house edge on some of the unique Boss Media bets: Buy on 4,10: 3.33% Buy on 5,9: 3.00% Buy on 6,8: 2.73% Lay on 4,10: 1.67% Lay on 5,9: 2.00% Lay on 6,8: 2.27% Warning: When laying the odds after a don't pass or don't come bets, which should be in increments of $6, winnings are shortchanged 10 cents. 9 Cryptologic Review Cryptologic is a Toronto-based company providing downloadable online casino software. The company was founded in 1995, went live with their first casino in 1996, and was the first to provide multi-player games in Depending on the casino, the player may earn monthly deposit bonuses, random prizes, or cash back incentives. After opening an account a letter will be sent in the postal mail containing a PI and account number. You will need the PI to cash out and the account number for customer support, so donít lose this information. Based on my experience Cryptologic casinos are very professional and offer fast and efficient customer service. The playing experience strives to be realistic, offering sound effects and voice narration. On the negative side I have always had problems with dropped connections and error message pop up boxes with Cryptologic. Multi-player and single player games are offered. The Cryptologic game rules are often modeled after those found in Atlantic City. Cryptologic casinos offer a free "safe cracker" game in which the player enters a 9-digit combination into a safe. In the very unlikely event it is exactly right the player wins $100,000. Only one guess per day is allowed. 10 Craps Cryptologicís craps game offers rules that are close to those found in physical casinos. All place and proposition bets pay according to standard rules. Buy and lay bets are not offered. The player may bet up to two times any line bet on the odds. The double odds are always relative to the bet made. This departs from conventional rules in which laying odds after a donít pass or donít come bet is relative to the amount the player can win. Finally, winning bets get rounded down to the nearest dollar so be sure to bet in correct increments. To avoid getting rounded down the player may bet as many extra dollars on top of their double odds bets as needed so that winnings will be an evenly divisible by $1. A pop up box will also alert the player if they stand to get rounded down, something very nice and unique to Cryptologic.

11 Microgaming Software Review In January 2003 Microgaming introduced their "Viper" software update. A unique feature of the Viper software is an autoplay feature. In blackjack there is an adjustable basic strategy it follows. In video poker there is a strategy engine that determines the optimal play on the fly. A good way to tell if a Microgaming casino uses the Viper or old software is that Viper has autoplay and the old software does not. There is also a flash version of their software. I have not played it but it looks like it follows the same rules as the Viper software. Following is a list of the games you may play, the rules, house edge, and strategy advice. The names of the games may vary from one casino to another. Craps Microgaming craps players may not bet more than their original wager either buying or laying the odds. The combined house edge on the pass side is 0.85% and on the don't pass side is 0.82%. Unlike the previous version winnings are rounded to the penny (previously winnings were rounded to the dollar). A Place bet to win is called a "win bet" and a place bet to lose is called a "lose bet." The payoffs are the same on win bets as conventional place bets. The "lose bets" pay 2-5 on the 4 and 10, 4-7 on the 5 and 9, and 4-5 on the 6 and 8. The house edge on the "lose bets" are 6.67% on the 4 and 10, 5.71% on the 5 and 9, and 1.82% on the 6 and 8. The proposition bets have the same high house edge as in conventional craps. The field bet pays 2 to 1 on both 2 and 12.

12 Playtech Playtech offers downloadable casino software. The graphics are very good and the interface is easy to understand. Both multi-player and single player are supported. Separate accounts are available for both real and play money. The multi-player feature is available in fun money mode. There is a comp point system equivalent to 0.1% cash back. Craps The player may take 3 times odds on the pass and come bets. The multiple allowed on the don't pass and don't come is also 3 times and relative to the amount bet, not the amount the player can win. The combined house edge is 0.47% on the pass and come and 0.46% on the don't pass and don't come. Buy and lay bets are allowed and the 5% commission is charged on the winnings.

13 Random Logic Random Logic is most known as the software behind Casino on et. The Reef Club also uses it. Both downloadable and Java software are available. Craps Casino on et offers three times odds. The amount you may lay on the odds after a don't pass or don't come bet is correctly proportional to the amount you can win. The combined house edge assuming full 3X odds on the pass and come bets is 0.47% and on the don't pass and don't come is 0.34%. The field bet pays 3-1 on the 12. All bets are turned on during the come out roll. Bonus points are awarded based on bets resolved. 5% deducted from winning buy bets. This equates to the 4 and 10 paying 19-10, the 5 and 9 paying 57-40, and the 6 and 8 paying The house edge is 2.73% on the 6 and 8, 3.00% on the 5 and 9, and 3.33% on the 4 and 10. 5% deducted from winning lay bets. This equates to the 4 and 10 paying 19-40, the 5 and 9 paying 19-30, and the 6 and 8 paying The house edge is 1.67% on the 4 and 10, 2.00% on 5 and 9, and 2.27% on 6 and 8.

14 Real Time Gaming Review Real Time Gaming software is fast, clear, and easy to use. The casinos themselves are generally good bonus givers, and with the fast play it is easy to get through the required play quickly. Most Real Time Gaming casinos are okay but there are some questionable one. One very generous bonus giver, Casino Merlin, went down in early 2002 and player accounts are likely lost. So choose which RTG casino to play carefully. One inconvenience is that you have to fax in a copy of your credit card and drivers license for a withdrawal of $500 or more. Table game limits are $5 to $500, slots and video poker take coinages from 5 cents to $5. There are two versions of Real Time Gaming software: download and Flash. The following review covers the download casino only, although the rules are the same in Flash as far as I know. Craps Full double odds seems to be the default. Some casinos offer more. On the don't side the player can bet 2.4 times the line bet on points of 6 and 8 and 2 times on all others. A 4% commission is charged on all winning buy and lay bets, based on the amount won. They also offer place bets to lose with some unconventional pay offs, 2 to 5 on the 4 and 10, 3 to 5 on the 5 and 9, and only 9 to 20 on the 6 and 8. The following list shows the house edge on these bets. The game has convenient buttons to clear bets and repeat bets. Hot boxes help to place your bet in the right place. Winnings are rounded down to the nearest quarter. 16 Wager Works Review WagerWorks is the digital offshoot of Silicon Gaming, the US video slot machine manufacturer acquired by IGT. Their history in gaming is evidenced by very well designed games with beautiful graphics. Another Silicon Gaming carryover is a penchant for licensed brand games. WagerWorks has licensing arrangements to offer such brands as The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. They are also fastidious about licensing proprietary game types, like Caribbean Stud Poker, Three Card Poker and multihand video poker. In my experience, they seem to be ultra-ethical and fully-legal in every aspect of their business. All WagerWorks games are implemented in Flash. You do not need to perform a timeconsuming download to get started. In addition to traditional casino games, the company also offers an extensive line of fun and unique games. Their software allows you to review the exact outcome of all of your prior games. Additionally, WagerWorks has so far only partnered with established, well-trusted companies such as Hard Rock Casino and BSkyB. WagerWorks, a US company, only operates casinos in fully regulated jurisdictions such as the UK and Alderney. In addition to the security of full government oversight, players benefit by having the payback for each game listed in the pay table. However, government oversight also means that bets can only be accepted from places where such bets are legal. Players in restricted countries, like the United States and Australia, can only play for fun. Craps Three times odds is allowed. Wager Works correctly bases odds after a don't pass or don't on the win, not the bet, a rule often implemented incorrectly by their competitors. The one area that WagerWorks has strayed from land-based casino practice is by offering "Place to Lose" wagers. These are similar to standard Place bets, except you win if a 7 is thrown before the number you bet on. Their "Place to Lose" bets have comparable house advantages to their standard Place bets (which they call "Place to Win".)
