5 About the Program Three year - 11 consecutive quarters full-time attendance First two years of classroom and lab work with a 5 week internship in the summer between the first and second year Third year -Three 10 week internships

6 Curriculum Basic science and physical therapy course skills in the first academic year. Clinical science courses integrate medical science knowledge in the second year.

7 Curriculum Musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary and integumentary disorders are taught concurrently, through increasingly complex client scenarios.

8 Curriculum Professional seminars are embedded in the curriculum along with evidence based practice and clinical research. Graduate generalists

9 Clinical Education Four internships for a total of 35 weeks Contracts with 350 sites, most in the Pacific NW An Acute Care and Rehabilitation settings are required. The other two internships are student choice. One internship must be outside the Spokane area. Two international internships are offered.

10 Admission Requirements Baccalaureate degree GRE Three references Physical Therapist Employer Basic science professor 75 hours of observation in at least two types of settings. Minimum of a 2.0 with an average minimum of 3.0 in each of the prerequisites

11 Prerequisite Course Work 1 quarter (1 semester) of human anatomy 1 quarter (1 semester) of human physiology (or two quarters/semesters of Human Anatomy and Physiology combined) 1 quarter (1 semester) of an upper division human or animal physiology 1 quarter (1 semester) of an advanced course of your choosing 3 semester or 4 quarter credits in biology, zoology or kinesiology (recommended courses include courses in microbiology, kinesiology, or cell biology) NOT botany or ecology type of courses.

12 Prerequisites 1 year of general college chemistry with labs 1 year of general physics with labs Two courses in behavioral science including psychology, sociology and anthropology One course in statistics Can be taken in any discipline

28 More Sports Bloomsday: the largest timed footrace in the world, attracts over 50,000 participants each May to join in this 12-kilometer race. Participants include elite racers, runners, walkers, children and wheelchair racers. Hoopfest: is the world s largest three-on-three basketball tournament and attracts more than 5,000 teams every year. Participants range from third graders to 70-year-olds featuring former CBA and European professionals, college superstars, high school standouts, and more than a few playground legends. Spokane was chosen as the host for the 2010 U.S. Figure Skating Championships
