1 FOT-Net Workshop Gothenburg, Sweden 08 September 2011 General Information: The exchange rate between Swedish Kronor (sek) and the Euro is approximately 8,9 sek=1. Most flights to Gothenburg come to Landvetter Airport (airport code GOT). Most airlines have flights to Gothenburg. The airport is approximately 25 km from the city. Ryanair flies into Gothenburg City Airport ( which is also about 20 km to the city centre. Taxi fare to the city centre from both airports is approximately 450 sek. A regular scheduled airport bus runs between Gothenburg and Landvetter airport and costs 80 sek. You can buy tickets for the airport bus either on board (only with credit cards), via ticket machines at the airport or on-line: A bus, timed with Ryanair flights, runs between Gothenburg City Airport and the central train station. Bus and tram transit inside Gothenburg requires that tickets are purchased in advance. If you plan to use bus or ferry buy a 5 trip card from a Pressbyrå or 7-Eleven shop. A 5 trip card costs 83 sek for Gothenburg City. The ferry 183 Älvsnabbare between Rosenlund and Lindholmspiren is free and runs about every 5 minutes in peak traffic times. Taxi fare from the city centre hotels and Lindholmen Conference Centre will cost around 100 sek. Meeting Location The meeting will be held at the Lindholmen Conference Centre (Lindholmspiren 3-5). The meeting rooms are called Tesla and Kelvin. Please register at the reception desk that can help you find the way. A map to the meeting location is attached. The nearest bus (no. 16) stop is "Lindholmen" and the ferry stop is called Lindholmspiren. Hotels (attached map/list) Please book directly with the hotels. The most convenient hotels for bus transfer to and from the airport and the bus (no. 16) to SAFER are the Scandic Europa, First Hotel G, and the Grand Hotel Opera. The Quality Hotel 11, Hotel Riverton and Best Western are a short ferry ride from the Lindholmen Conference Centre.
