29 Stand construction Stand-wall system The stand-wall system of Messe Frankfurt separates neighbouring exhibition stands. The stand sketch included with stand confirmation shows the stand walls supplied by Messe Frankfurt. The stand walls are located on the very edge of the stand. Please note that this reduces the clear inside dimensions of the stand by 2 cm (1/2 of wall thickness) per stand wall. For example: a 5-metre row stand has a clear inside dimension of 4.96 m. The wall elements are made of white hardboard coated with melamine resin. They measure 2.50 m x 1.00 m x 4 cm or 2.50 m x 0.50 m x 4 cm (h x w x d). The contacts listed below will be pleased to provide information on the requirements for obtaining consent and the costs involved. Stand wall system - painted walls Example You got a 6 m x 4 m Corner Stand built with our standard dividing walls (2.50 m high). This results in the required square meter quantity: (4 + 6 running meter) x 2.50 m height = 25 m 2 Please order 25 m 2 of one of the following articles. Article number Wall-papering approval (Please order this, if accomplish the work yourself with your own paper and paint. We will clean up the dividing walls after the show. Please use only standard and easy removable glue. The 2.50 m high walls must not be painted without papering.) Power supply: during the hours of the event plus one hour before and after. Green power We offer you the opportunity to utilise green power for as much of your exhibition stand s electricity needs as you require. 100% of this electricity is generated using water power. Please place your order by no later than 14 days before the start of the event. If requested, Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH will provide you, free of charge, with written confirmation from the energy supplier regarding the source of the green power and the means by which it was generated. Cooling water On environmental grounds, do not use drinking water in a continuous-flow process to cool appliances (e.g. laser). Please make provision for technical recooling. Underfloor pipework It is possible to lay pipes (supply and waste) beneath the floor of the stand on the ground floor of Halls 4, 8 and 9. All connection work within the stand is to be done by Messe Frankfurt contract fitters only. No connection charges will be made for equipment hired from Messe Frankfurt. The connection charge for a sink also includes the connection of the associated water heater. The costs for water supply include use of a maximum of 5 m³ of water. Additional consumption will be invoiced at EUR 5.90 per m³. With multi-storey stand constructions, water connections in the upper storeys are subject to a surcharge. For safety reasons, the water supply will be turned off 1 hour after the end of the event. Technical execution and feasibility of suspensions from the hall ceiling: Under the Delivery Conditions laid down by Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH, the suspension of objects on the terms set out in the order forms is only possible in Halls 1.1, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 6, 9, 10.1 and In Halls 1.2, 3.0, 3.1 and the Forum, suspensions may be allowed only by specific request. Requests in this connection should be directed to the Sales Service, Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH. Suspensions in the relevant halls will be charged individually according to outlay and after testing for feasibility. Please note that punctual execution of the assembly work can only be guaranteed, if the order for the suspension points has been submitted to Messe Frankfurt at the appropriate time and not later than six weeks before the event commences. With the order, a sketch must be submitted, taking account of the suspension possibilities. The lowest point for a suspension is 2.30 m above the hall floor. Suspensions outside the stand area are only permitted with the express approval of Event Engineering at Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH. The maximum weight permitted per suspension is 50 kg. The transfer point is the open cable end. Mounting of materials owned by the exhibitor, such as lighting systems or exhibits, may be carried out, subject to the current and recognised rules of engineering, and the appropriate regulations, such as DIN VDE and UVV (in particular, BGV C1). Connections from the suspended article shall be obtained through wedge sockets in accordance with DIN 43148, which are secured at the open end by a cable clamp in accordance with DIN The appropriate fastening material can be obtained on site from the hall electrician. The only way we have of visually inspecting cable gliders to verify their approval for use (with regard to the inspection by the BG testing and certification body, and the product characteristics this implies) is through the licensing sticker affixed to the cable glider. For this reason, only cable gliders displaying this sticker may be used on the exhibition grounds of Messe Frankfurt. 91 Stand services Security/guard service The stand security contract is made between the exhibitor and Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH. Orders are only effective after the security company performing the order has issued written confirmation. Exhibitor s own security personnel: Exhibitors must register and obtain authorisation for their own guards by faxing details of the number of guards and their names to Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH The security personnel must provide proof of identity in the form of a power of attorney and sign in/out daily at the hall manager s office. 97 Logistics Truck parking Parking permits can only be issued as far as parking spaces are available and these permits will only be valid for the duration of the event. Parking spaces can be reserved/ ordered online on our Easyorder ordering system by exhibitors only. Please note the deadline given on the ordering form for placing the order. Orders received after this date will not be included in allocation of parking spaces. Subsequent allocation may be possible if there are any spaces left over. 98 Logistics Freight forwarding services Transport equipment, cranes and fork-lifts Transport equipment, industrial trucks, lifting equipment and cranes will be supplied by the Messe Frankfurt Logistics Service. For safety reasons, exhibitors are not allowed to use their own equipment. No diesel-powered vehicles or lifting equipment may be used in the exhibition halls. Storage of empty packaging, etc. Collections of empty packing materials, etc., from the hall for storage are made on a continuous basis so that the aisles are kept clear at all times in case of emergencies. The time and the order in which the empty packing materials are collected has no influence on their return after the end of the fair. The last empty packing materials must have been collected by the end of the official set-up time. The delivery of empty packing materials to the stand will start immediately after the carpeting has been taken up from the aisles in your hall, i.e., approx. 2 hours after the end of the fair. The amount of material delivered will be calculated to ensure that the aisles are kept clear at all times in case of emergencies. 138 Travel & accommodation Getting here by plane No matter what large airport you choose to begin your journey to Messe Frankfurt, there is always a direct flight to Frankfurt Airport. Once you have arrived at Germany s largest airport, getting to Messe Frankfurt is as quick as it is easy. A tip for visitors arriving at Terminal 2: Both the Sky Line, which runs every minute, and the shuttles will take you to Terminal 1 free of charge this is where you will find all of the public transport options for getting to Messe Frankfurt. From Frankfurt Airport you can get to the exhibition grounds: n by taking a taxi to the City entrance, Galleria entrance or the North Gate (a disabled pass for people with severely impaired mobility is required); n by taking the S8 or S9 suburban trains (heading towards Hanau, Offenbach Ost) to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (Frankfurt Central Station) (for the rest of your journey please see Getting here by train on page 119); n by taking the shuttle bus. 139 Travel & accommodation Getting here by car If you are coming by car, please follow the signs for Messe and take the Westkreuz Frankfurt exit from the motorway. The overhead signs will guide you to Messe Frankfurt. The Rebstock multi-storey car park offers sufficient parking during trade fairs. A shuttle service will take you to the exhibition grounds. The multi-storey car park is not suitable for visitors whose mobility is restricted. People with severely impaired mobility should not go to the Rebstock multi-storey car park, but rather to the North Gate, where service personnel will direct you to a suitable parking space on the exhibition grounds. 140 Travel & accommodation Low emission zone Since 1 January 2008, Frankfurt s designated low emission zone (Umweltzone) can only be accessed by vehicles with a corresponding emissions sticker ( Driving a vehicle into this zone without one of these emissions stickers constitutes an offence and can lead to a fine. Vehicular access to the exhibition grounds: The low emission zone in Frankfurt is located within the motorway ring road comprising the motorways A5 in the west, A3 in the south and A661 in the east. Vehicles with the corresponding emissions sticker can access the exhibition grounds at any time. Vehicles without these stickers can also reach the exhibition grounds via the West Gate or North Gate. These gates, as well as the Rebstock multi-storey car park, can be reached via the A648 (coming from the A5) by taking the Rebstock exit or via the Katharinenkreisel roundabout. The low emission zone can only be accessed by vehicles with emissions stickers. Emission stickers can be obtained from the vehicle registration authority or from Technical Inspection Association TÜV. 141 Travel & accommodation Getting here by train With more than 250,000 passengers a day, Frankfurt Central Station is one of Europe s most important train stations and it is only a few hundred metres away from Messe Frankfurt. The only thing that s closer is Messe Frankfurt s Information Desk, which is located within Central Station on the concourse at Platform 10. Here you can obtain important information for your trade fair visit first hand as soon as you exit your train: underground train and suburban train connections to the exhibition grounds, hotel information, city maps, trade fair brochures and more. The Information Desk is open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during all major trade fairs. From Frankfurt Central Station you can get to the exhibition grounds: n by taxi to the City entrance, Galleria entrance or the North Gate (a disabled pass for people with severely impaired mobility is required). n by underground train Line U4 (heading towards Bockenheimer Warte) to the next stop, Festhalle/ Messe, where you take the lift to the City entrance. n by suburban train Line S3 (heading towards Bad Soden), S4 (heading towards Kronberg), S5 (heading towards Bad Homburg/Friedrichsdorf) or S6 (heading towards Friedberg) to the second stop, the S-Bahn station Messe, then go to the Torhaus entrance. A lift will take you directly from the platform to the Torhaus entrance. n by tram Lines 16 and 17. You can reach the tram stop by going out the main exit of Frankfurt Central Station and crossing the station forecourt. The destination, Festhalle/Messe ( City entrance), is the third stop. n on foot or in a wheelchair in ten minutes along Düsseldorfer Straße via Platz der Republik and Friedrich-Ebert- Anlage. The pyramidal top of the Messeturm tower makes it easy to find your way. The City entrance through which you will be entering the exhibition grounds is just a few steps away. 141

That is why we provide short, simple routes for all of our visitors including those whose mobility is restricted. Barrier-free access and routes create tremendous scope for encounters, and our exhibitors careful stand planning ensures that nearly all stands are now accessible via ramps. This means that Messe Frankfurt can provide you with the fastest route to good ideas at all times. European disabled toilet key All of the sanitation facilities for the disabled on the exhibition grounds have been equipped with European disabled toilet locks. There is also a selection of bed and breakfast accommodation and apartments, some of them close to the exhibition grounds. The contracting party is the company concerned, i.e., hotel, guesthouse, etc. Thus the terms of business of the accommodation facility apply. Contractual rights and obligations arising from the accommodation agreement Accommodation agreements shall be regarded as having been concluded as soon as rooms have been reserved and reservations confirmed, or, in the event that a confirmation cannot be given due to lack of time, as soon as rooms have been provided. Concluding the accommodation agreement means the contracting parties are obliged to fulfil their part of the agreement regardless of the duration of the agreement. The company providing the accommodation (hotelier) is obliged to pay compensation to the guest if the room booked is not available. If the guest does not use the accommodation covered by the contract, he or she is obliged to pay the agreed or customary price less any savings the company providing the accommodation has been able to make. The company providing the accommodation undertakes in good faith to let the unused room to another guest if possible, in order to avoid financial loss. Liability TCF is liable for gross negligence and intent. TCF is not liable for processing errors, technical defects or failures occurring downstream of the travel agency/tour operator/ service provider interface. TCF is not liable in the case of malfunctions resulting from acts of God or strikes or transmission disturbances in the telephone network. TCF is not liable for improper performance, non-performance or other infringements of the accommodation agreement by the company providing the accommodation or its agents, in as much as this exclusion is legally permissible. The venue for disputes is the court responsible for the location of the accommodation. Important Reservation documentation must be checked for conformity with the reservation orders submitted to TCF prior to departure. Any obvious discrepancies found shall be immediately reported to TCF. The statute of limitations for claims against TCF shall be one year, commencing with the contractually agreed departure dates. Claims against the company providing the accommodation must be submitted to the latter. If a provision in these terms for agency services should be invalid, the legal validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. Tourismus + Congress GmbH Frankfurt carries out its services on behalf of and for the account of the participating companies and is, therefore, not the organiser in the sense of Article 651a, para. 1, of the German Civil Code (BGB). 145 Travel & accommodation Caravan and camper parking Exhibitors who plan to travel to the exhibition grounds in a caravan or camper may use Messe Frankfurt s Park & Sleep facility with 52 parking spaces and modern sanitary facilities offering showers and toilets. A filling station, two discount supermarkets and stops on public transportation routes are located in the direct vicinity. The caravan parking lot is conveniently located next to the Rebstock multi-storey car park. 24 of the parking spaces offer their own electrical connections. A caravan parking space without an electrical connection can be rented for 25 euros a day. Parking spaces with an electrical connection cost 30 euros a day. The rental fee allows for departure before 9:00 a.m. on the following day. Parking spaces can only be reserved for the entire duration of an event. The Park & Sleep facility usually opens two days before the start of the trade fair and closes one day after the event has finished.
