3 In today s rapidly changing pharmaceutical industry, the successful professional needs highly developed skills to interpret and use a broad array of market information. IMS provides training programs to clients all over the world. These training courses introduce clients to the wealth of information available, helping them improve their job-related analytical skills through real-world exercises, case studies, and simulations. The training objectives are met through a variety of delivery methods and blended classroom learning. IMS provides highlevel data and tool overviews via computer-based tutorials, webinars, and other elearning platforms, as well as in-depth instructor-led workshops. Each course varies based on content and client need. In the U.S. courses are scheduled at our Pennsylvania and New Jersey offices, but courses can be offered at our Deerfield, IL. and Redwood City, CA. locations if request meet minimum class size. IMS also offers adhoc classes at client sites, which can be customized to meet the client s individual needs and requirements.. The U.S. product training courses examine the IMS Syndicated Product Offerings. The focus is on IMS data and decision support systems (PC-based software applications), as well as several pharmaceutical industry topics. The Global Services product training courses examine the areas of market research data/information applications and IMS PC-based software applications for our global products and services. We suggest that you register early as courses frequently fill up. A confirmation letter will be sent to you after registration and will include directions, hotel recommendations, etc. Please note that the arrangements and cost of any required hotel accommodations are the responsibility of the client. Since we often have waiting lists for our training courses, we ask that you abide by the cancellation policy outlined in your confirmation letter or a cancellation fee will be charged. 4 Dataview Analyzer is an IMS Windows -based database analysis tool. This course teaches you how to use Analyzer to create market research reports and manipulate them from the National Disease and Therapeutic Index (NDTI ) database. Create reports from the NDTI database using Dataview Analyzer Build simple reports and use refinement features Calculate statistics quickly within IMS data Export data in three different formats Generate graphs from Analyzer spreadsheets Build complex reports that require the crosstabulation, redefining, and/or grouping of data This course has been designed for market research analysts, data technicians, product managers, and others who need to analyze IMS market research audit data. Recommended for clients that utilize Dataview Analyzer. An overview knowledge of IMS pharmaceutical audits and PC literacy are required. You can gain a basic understanding of NDTI by completing the NDTI Overview via live meeting or attend the instructor led NDTI Product Orientation training.. This course is scheduled in conjunction with the course, so you may attend the complete three-days of Dataview courses at one time. When registering, please indicate if you will be attending one or both Dataview courses. This course utilizes the NDTI database only.

5 Dataview Cross-Audit uses Dataview Analyzer, which is an IMS Windows -based database analysis tool. This course teaches you how to use Analyzer to create market research reports and manipulate data from the market research audits. Create reports from a database using National Sales Perspectives (NSP ): Retail and Non-Retail, Integrated Promotional Services (IPS ), or National Prescription Audit (NPA ) Build simple reports and use refinement features Calculate statistics quickly within IMS data Export data in three different formats Generate graphs from Analyzer spreadsheets Build complex reports that require the crosstabulation, redefining, and/or grouping of data This course has been designed for market research analysts, data technicians, product managers, and others who need to analyze IMS market research audit data. Recommended for clients that utilize the Dataview Analyzer version. An overview knowledge of IMS pharmaceutical audits and PC literacy are required. The user will be instructed on the logic of how Dataview processes the customization features in your more complex reports. Formulate and create customized report queries to support complex situation-based market research questions Understand how the limit and exclusions features are structured Explore further into the Redefinitions and Groupings features Identify how the Factor function can be used to customize reported data Explore the Selected Segment feature to focus on specific targets of your market definition Understand and utilize the Elements of Growth Statistic to gain insight into the market dynamics behind the growth or decline of a particular category Understand and utilize the allocation statistics to examine a portion of a market s Sales and Prescriptions that are associated with a particular disease using the National Disease and Therapeutic Index (NDTI ) audit Understand and utilize the New to Brand metrics for analyzing prescription activity of first-time use or continuation of pharmaceutical products This course has been designed for market research analysts, data technicians, product managers, financial analysts, and others who need to analyze IMS market research audit data. 7 Dataview is an IMS Windows -based, PC data delivery system. This course teaches you how to use Dataview to obtain market research data from the IMS central mainframe system, and download it to a PC. Recognize how Dataview can be used to facilitate market research Identify the two methods for accessing IMS data using Dataview Formulate and create report queries in response to market research questions Recognize several ways in which you can customize IMS data Calculate statistics within IMS data Save markets, columns, rows, and customizations for future queries Submit queries, both individually and via batch queuing, to the IMS mainframe Submit databases to be delivered to hard drive, CD-ROM, or through File Express Schedule reports or databases to run / update after an audit has updated Download the query results to a PC and view report query results using Microsoft Excel This course has been designed for market research analysts, data technicians, product managers, and others who need to analyze IMS market research audit data.
