With the ultimate goal of transforming education for English Learners, Project CORE brings together educators and second language acquisition experts from San Diego State University College of Education, San Diego County Office of Education, and local school districts to address the critical and urgent need to transition to California's Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

12 MA Requirements Program of Study (POS) -- Meet with your adviser to develop your action plan. Once you advance to candidacy (after 12 units), you will be scheduled to take a Comprehensive Exam -- usually during your final spring semester. The Comprehensive Exam includes the seven MA program standards embedded in your courses. It is your responsibility to apply for graduation via webportal by the first week of your last semester. 16 Registration Masters Program Register through Web Portal Take classes as outlined in your Program of Study You will need to pay for these courses before taking them. Stipends will be disbursed at key points in the program after grade verification (see next slide).
17 Stipends (Project CORE participants only.) Certificate Stipend Complete all coursework with a 3.5 GPA, and no grade less than a B in any course is acceptable! (SDSU min is CORE stipend requires higher GPA) Complete all program surveys Certificate Only:$1500 to be paid after completion of first 2 classes; $1500 upon completion of all program requirements. Certificate + MA disbursement options: same as above or $3,000 upon completion of Certificate requirements Attend additional scheduled Institutes/conferences (2 per semester) MA Stipend ( Cohort Only) Must complete program within two and half years Same course and survey requirements as above $4,000 paid at completion of MA requirements, after graduation. (This stipend is in addition to any you receive for the certificate.)
