3 KEY CHALLENGES A large investments were made into traditional SNMP-oriented monitoring systems (licenses, personnel skills, trainings, etc.). There are a lot of non-snmp hardware and software with proprietary EMS systems or even without control. 7 HOW IT WORKS? Data collection Module - Responsible for collecting information from the devices. The polling process uses network (SSH, Telnet, FTP, HTTP) and hardware communication protocols (USB, RS232, RS485, I ² C, SPI, etc.). Emulation Module - Based on the information transmitted from the data collection module, emulation module creates a new device for each separate network subinterface and assign it a unique IP-address, which then used for monitoring the device via SNMP.
