3 Important remarks on trading and risk statement 1. Sentiment Trading - a Short Introduction 2. Daily Sentiment Trader Overview 3. Notes on Trend Signals 4. Notes on Buzz Warnings 5. Important Remarks on Trading 6. Risk Statement 7. About 1. Sentiment Trading - a Short Introduction Sentiment trading currently develops into one of the largest trends in trading strategies. Today's computing power allows handling the large data flood streaming in from digital, social media sources. Data from these sources (e.g. Twitter) bears valuable information and can generate alpha if they are structured and aggregated in meaningful ways. StockPulse applies scientifically proven methods and delivers high quality sentiment data for the trend signals and buzz warnings. You can find more information about stockpulse.de. 2. Daily Sentiment Trader Overview The Daily Sentiment Trader is published each trading day and part of the StockPulse subscription. Trend signals, buzz warnings, and market sentiment are calculated automatically each trading day and are based on sentiment analyses of messages during the last 24 hours up to 8 am of the current trading day. Delivery of the Daily Sentiment Trader regularly takes place between 8 am and 8:30 am, on rare occasions up to 8:45 am. Updates are available in realtime on stockpulse.de. 3. Notes on Trend Signals Trend signals from Daily Sentiment Trader should be considered as short-term signals and usually are only suited well for intraday trading. In most of the cases where a prediction is correct, price goals are reached in a few hours after market opens, in many cases even earlier. Predictions refer to the first quote of the trading day immediately after market open; a correct bullish signal with a prediction of 1.0 percent means that a stock which trades for 100 Euro at market open should rise to 101 Euro in a short amount of time. The closing price on the previous trading day is not relevant for the prediction. Because of that even a stock which trades lower on market open compared to its closing price from the previous trading day fulfills the prediction (if it rises in price during the current trading day). An example: The stock closes at 105 Euro on the previous trading day and opens at 100 Euro on the current trading day. Then it quickly moves to 101 Euro or higher in price - in that case, the prediction would be considered as correct. Page 3/5
4 4. Notes on Buzz Warnings Buzz warnings show which stocks are discussed heavily in social media and thus are potential candidates for moving into the short-term focus of market participants. For example, a high buzz can be an indicator for a short-term increase of volatility for a stock. Contrarily, low buzz values mean that a title receives less attention in comparison. Green sentiment bars on page one indicate positive mood and the expectation of rising stock prices expressed in the majority of messages for a title. If sentiment bar are red, the opposite is true (indicator for negativ mood / expectation of falling prices). 5. Important Remarks on Trading Trend signals, buzz warnings, and sentiment values for financial markets are calculated completely automatic and should be considered as short-term indicators. Therefore, they are normally only suited well for short-term (intraday) trading decisions. Please note: The Daily Sentiment Trader supports daily trading choices but it cannot replace individual investment advice. Investors and traders should never issue trades based on the data presented in this service without building an own opinion about general short-term market developments. Because all data contained in this service are short-term indicators, derivatives - aside from direct investments in stocks - are a suitable product for executing a trading strategy based on the Daily Sentiment Trader. With derivatives like options, certificates, and CFDs, traders and investors can profit significantly even from small price changes. The possibility of realizing profits comes with high risks: derivatives can quickly lead to a total loss of invested capital and in the case of CFDs even create additional payment liabilities. Please note the following risk statement. 6. Risk Statement Stock exchange transactions, particularly forward, future, and optionstrading imply risks which can lead to a total loss of your entire capital employed and otherlosses. Get professional and detailed advice from your bank aboutrelevant lossrisks before making yourinvestment decisions. The information and data available on StockPulse websites and the Daily Sentiment Trader are only for information purposes. StockPulse does neither provide investment consulting or investment brokerage nor the call of buying or selling stocks, forwards, futures, or options on Stockpulse websites and the Daily Sentiment Trader.
