2 Features 5.1-channel powerful and stylish surround system The AV receiver ensures that action movies with loud, dynamic soundtracks will be heard in spectacularly realistic surround sound. The front, surround and center speakers are high quality models capable of reproducing high definition audio, and the subwoofer uses Yamaha s exclusive Advanced YST technology to deliver clean, crisply powerful bass. Rounded corners give the speakers a stylish appearance. HD Audio with CINEMA DSP The receiver is capable of decoding the latest HD audio formats, which can be enjoyed together with CINEMA DSP sourround sound programs, for natural and expansive sound imaging. HD Audio Compatible Speakers, for Great Movie Sound Compatible with HD audio sources, the YHT-298 speakers deliver superb music and movie sound. The speakers are tuned to provide a clear, soft sound that is pleasant to listen to for long periods. Advanced YST for Awesome Deep Bass Yamaha s exclusive Advanced Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) generates incredible bass from small speaker enclosures. Advanced YST is the ideal method of combining amplifiers and speakers for maximum performance. This system s advanced negative impedance converter intelligently adjust the negative impedance generation as the speaker moves, creating a hard, rigid cone that prevents deep resonant waves from leaking out of the speaker cone. This means the full power of the waves is forced out through the air port, resulting in clear, powerful bass. 4K pass-through for next generation super high resolution images This AV receiver provides advanced HDMI features including 4K pass-through. 4K refers to four times the resolution of a 1080p display. While not yet available, 4K displays and sources are sure to become popular in the future. This receiver is capable of passing the 4K data from the source to the display, for image clarity far beyond present standards.

It s like having a professional audio engineer set up and tweak your system. SCENE for Easy One-Touch Operation Four SCENE buttons make operating the receiver easier than ever. They are initially set to default settings for BD/DVD Movie Viewing, TV Viewing, CD Listening and Radio Listening. Pressing a SCENE button turns on the power, selects the input source and assigns the optimum DSP mode for that source.

4 OSD with Color Icons The YHT-298 features Yamaha s latest on-screen display, which provides color icons for quick identification. Menus can be viewed in English, German, French, Spanish, Russian or Chinese. In addition, menus can be overlaid over the image.
