5 - Was the online class you took a good financial investment for you? Response Option Weight Frequency Percentage Percent Responses Means Strongly agree (1) % Agree (2) % Neutral (3) % Disagree (4) % Strongly disagree (5) % Return Rate Mean STD Median 326/1,843 (17.69%) What would you have like to have known, before you began your online classes? Return Rate 200/1,843 (10.85%) Question - A general homework overview would help. That way you would be better prepared in choosing certain classes. (i.e. you could put a heavier homework class with a lighter one, so you can manage both classes efficiently.) - A little more about the format of the online class- frequency of due dates, how often one is expected to have access to a computer and be online, etc. - A prep on how an online class operate generally if enrolling into classes, and challenges that may abrupt if chosen to do online. - A syllabus would have been nice so i would have known what type of online correspondence would be needed during this quarter. - Additional costs not listed such as Connect. That one of the online classes I took was going to be an "experimental" class, that uses an untested and frankly horrible system (Cogbooks). A basic schedule of when homework is going to be assigned/due. If I'm taking an online class because I'm not available certain days of the week, then tests/homework are scheduled for those days, it defeats the point. - All expectations were met - All the needed information was provided. - Are we talking about the current class? I would like to refer to my experience in my FALL class, too, and was never offered the chance for feedback there. Current class - I would have liked a more detailed description of the class available. I would like the class calendar built out farther in advance so I can plan my time. Fall class - was structured so you had to do SOMETHING for the class almost every day. Insanely stressful for a full time worker and parent of two trying to take the course. - As for the most part, i would always like to know the class structure and that can be summed up with a given syllabus. For example, how many exams are there to the class, is the final exam is cumulative or not, and is the class grade on a curve? How are office hours available since this is an online class setting. - availability of the subjects - Can't think of anything. Been taking online classes for several years. - Canvas has lots of problems plus On-Line students have a hard time getting in contact with their teachers as well as any help if their flexibility does not match the instructors or the schools! - Early access to the system/systems that I would be using would have been helpful. Because I have to access several different areas of online sites in order to complete my courses, it would have been better I think if I had had a week or two before anything was due to actually find where everything on the sites was located before assignments started being due. - from administration on introduction to instructor, and class requirements as soon as I registered for class, prior to start of quarter. - Expectation for "attendance" -- how much flexibility would actually be available for managing my time - expected workload of each class - For me it's easier to learn from someone that's in front of you teaching. It help's me to focus and understand better when assignments are do. Online classes are difficult in that respect. I also had a couple problems with getting computer access which is also something else you need to consider when taking online courses. - for my economics class I would have liked to have known how bad of a class it was to take online, teacher says will give assignments then they don't get posted, and extra credit offered is unable to be turned in. Also the site that it is run out of is a bad site with lots of technical issues. - Have good time management and know how online class works - Homework workload expected - How difficult it can be to understand what the instructor is wanting you to do. 2

- How do the online classes operate? - How do this teachers teach, and if possible other student's reviews... - How great online classes were going to be. - How hard it would be, i dont like not knowing what is going on, its hard to jeep track. - How it is working. - How long it would take to get back from a teacher about assignments and etc. - How much extra work was involved. - How much more time I needed to commit - How much of a waste of money it is for online classes. The same price for instructors to not even communicate with you on a regular basis. They are not teaching, they simply tell you what page to - How much printing would be required! I had to invest in a new printer half way through the quarter. - How much time was needed to complete each assignment. - How much time was required to put in. I work and go to school full time and thought online classes would work well with my busy schedule but I was completely wrong. - how much writing is involved. - How much you would have to balance your time. - How often assignments are due/more information about the class. - How previous students who have taken the class feel about the class and what their experience was like. - How the online class was structured. - How to discuss with professor - How to work the online class website, Canvas. - How's a online course work - I am taking three online classes this quarter. Two are valuable and one is a joke. The "professor" barely logs on and ignores s. I didn't realize that in an online format, ignoring students was an option. - I can't think of anything. - I did not want to take an online course. I could only barely afford it, with a deferred payment, because I got a tuition break for taking online only course. As a nonresident, it still cost me over $700. I wish I would have known it was going to be as bad as I thought it would be - I would have not taken any courses this quarter and saved my money for next quarter or summer quarter for an on-campus class. - I didn't have any concerns or qustions before this class. - I don't know if there was anything in particular I would have liked to know. - I feel like some online classes punish the student for taking them. The workload is way heavier than a regular 5 credit class. It feels like the instructor buries the students in busy work just because they can. - I have been taking online classes for a couple of years now and the 2 classes I am enrolled in this quarter were well planned out. - I have previously taken online classes so I knew what to expect. - I knew the approximate time commitment with regards to homework for an online class, but I would have liked a better idea about how much time online it would take to complete the class. - i knew what i needed to know - I pretty much knew what to expect. I went into this class at the right time musically speaking. I understand a lot more about the basics and took the intro course last year but I am glad I waited. - I think a little better explanation about what is required to begin the class would help. Every time I have started a online class it always takes a couple of weeks for me to get orientated and my first couple of assignments end up getting bad grades. - I think it would be great if I get both notice from canvas and also to my personal . - I think the site gave lots of information in how works and use the online classes/ 3

- I want to know syllabus and annual schedule. - I was confused about the separate requirements for the textbook and the on-line access. - I was fine. I just figured it out as I went along. - I wish all the modules or at least the average workload would be posted before you start the class. In general, Shoreline gives you one or two weeks to decide if you can handle a class or not in order to drop it for the full refund. Even when taking a tangible class that you show up to everyday, this is still, in my opinion, not enough time to make up your mind. Now in an online class where you don't meet everyday, it almost feels like stealing. I definitely felt the pressure in my Math class took on an entire new level going into week two causing me to drop it, inevitably losing 250 dollars through the process. I would like more options to avoid losses like that in the future. - I wish I would have known that the digital version of the book was so inconvenient to use. - I would have attended a different college that offers more face to face classes instead of having to come every other day or take classes online. I'm disappointed Shoreline is relying so heavily on online courses. - I would have like a bit more detail before taking the class. I was recommended it, but wasn't aware that I didn't actually need to take the class until recently. I was under the impression that the class was a discipline and did not realize it was only an elective. - I would have like to have known how to work Canvas a bit better. - I would have like to have known some about what I am going to learn. - I would have like to have known that the midterm and final were an on campus/ proctored event. - I would have like to known more about certain professors before taking online classes. I found a website named rateyourprofessor.com that I will start using before registering for online classes. - I would have liked to know that you are basically teaching yourself the course. I was under the impression that there would be live interactive lectures. Getting questions answered in a timely manner is most helpful. Basically I feel for the price of plus ebooks (not real hardcopy books) is way overpriced for the amount of services provided. My professors have been helpful and understanding of the frustration that sometimes is incurred and have no negative remarks towards them. - I would have liked to know what operating systems are needed for downloading assignments. What the workload would be like, taking 3 online classes is like going in "blind" since we don't get to chat with classmates about which teachers are good or make the assignments confusing. - I would have liked to take an orientation on Canvas before classes started. - I would like to have known that assignments were due on Fridays. I work Monday-Friday so it's not always the most convenient for me. Sometimes I have trouble completing my work on time. - I would like to know which professors actually use Canvas and which professors use multiple other sites. I find it incredibly frustrating to have to log in to three or four sites for my classes. It's difficult to keep track. One professor, Dan King, has his own alternate site; he doesn't even use the or announcements features in Canvas. Though I understand using outside sites, such as textbook sites, to enhance the learning experience, I think it complicates and takes away from the educational experience to allow instructors to use alternate sites for all the same purposes that Canvas features offer. The instructors who do stick almost wholly to Canvas tend to make the classes focus more on content than on a structure they may feel is superior. Being able to focus on course content definitely makes for a better learning experience, and I think Canvas is set up beautifully to provide this. - I would love to know when classes will be available online for different quarters. That way I can plan my full school year ahead of time and know when I need to take classes. - I would love to see published online syllabuses to help me decide which classes to take before I register each quarter. - I would of liked to know that all of the online teachers make the assumption that you are plagiarizing even when you aren't. I keep putting in a lot of time and effort but they don't seem to care. - If there was required reading material. - I'm pretty familiar with the Canvas platform, there wasn't any surprises. - Info on "Tegrity". Had no idea that my class would use this software and I would need a mic and webcam. - It is ok to your professors in online classes to ask questions, just as you would ask them in person if it was a traditional class - It was self-explanatory enough. - It would have been nice to know that my teacher lacked proper English speaking skills. Teachers that do not use proper grammar need to not be hired. I'm tired of trying to decipher what my teacher is asking of me in each assignment. - It wouldn't have mattered what I knew or didn't know as I had to stick with the program schedule. - it's hard to clearly communicate what the teachers want. - Just a better understanding how online classes are like since it was my first time taking online classes. 4

- Just how much time management is key to success of online classes. - Many things - maybe student feedback from the previous quarter about the class - More about how the layout of the website worked - More about the operation of Canvas. Online classes require fluent Canvas use. - More explanation regarding Coursework,(examples). - More info about class activity - More information on the type of degree's that where offered online - My instructor - NA - navigation of McGraw-Hill online course book. Took me a quarter to learn how to effectively "read" an e-book (note: I have not experienced Kindle, or other online books) - a short course on how to navigate in e-books would be helpful. - No additional information would have been necessary, enough provided. - No comment - No where in the course description does it say you have to have a PC only. If you take two different classes with one teacher all of your work will be due on the same day at the same time. - None - None - none - Not at this time. - Not really anything,it has been no problem at all - not sure - can't think of anything, although I probably will *after* I hit the submit button! - Not to take this Nutrition 101 online. Too much reading content for an online class. - Nothing 5

- nothing - nothing - Nothing - Nothing - nothing comes to mind offhand. - Nothing I can recall at this time. - Nothing in particular. It is working out great for me. - nothing really - nothing specific - Nothing! - Nothing, all my professors did a great job explaining what to expect throughout the quarter and when everything was due. - Nothing, have taken multiple online courses. - Nothing, it's perfect. - Nothing, the instructor was incredibly up front about what would be expected. I have also used Canvas in previous courses so I was familiar with the system. - Nothing, the syllabus and schedule the teachers provided was very informative. - Nothing, this is not my first online class, so I already knew what to expect. - Nothing. - nothing. - Nothing. - Nothing. Everything is fine. - Nothing. I was pretty much already informed before taking an online class as this was not my first time. - Nothing; was well-prepared by faculty - Online is more... "teach it yourself". A lot of reading... A warning about the amount of reading!! - Probably what type of work we will be doing and how much work is involved. - Shoreline does an excellent job of informing the student in every way. I did not have any questions prior to the class. - Some professors require you to come in person to drop off certain assignments or attend certain meetings (mandatory meetings).. This really harmed my education because I did not have the time, resources or health to commute at that time. - Something about how the professor is going to structure the class. This is my eighth online course and I can tell you that some professors are not meant to teach an opine course. The way they communicate is not good for an online classroom. The student has to depend on quick replies from the profess in order to understand the material, especially if the instructions the professor gave we not understood. I have found that an online class is better for students that have a grasp on the subject before beginning the class. Professors do not have much flexibility in their online curriculum and this can cause students that are really trying to succeed to fall behind. Many people choose online classes because it is the only way they can manage life and school. If the professor is not adept to teaching in an online classroom then they should not be doing it. If they do they will waste their time and the time of the students. It is our responsibility to learn just as it is their responsibility to teacher, but we are paying a hefty price for the education. - students' education level - Tests were in person - that classes are only offered once a year. that is highly insufficient and works against getting financial aid. - That exams are proctored in person on campus. - That I don't have to take it - that i needed a specific computer for the class. which i think is absolutely obserred - That i would have needed a scanner so i could upload my assignments. 6

- That I would have to learn how to use many other websites that I will never use again and that take a big chuck of my time to learn how to use. - That in this particular class you cannot work ahead of the schedule. Assignments are opened on a weekly basis. - That it would be difficult to contact the professor online via or the online site. That I would have better luck getting answers to my questions if I visited the prof in person at school. - That it's more challenging to integrate a mixed class schedule of half online/half on campus classes. If I had it to do over again, I would have started with a completely online program such Shoreline's or a program like it. Right now my schedules and deadlines are too conflictive and I think it would be much easier to do it all one way or the other. - That on campus testing was part of the course. - That once a test is submitted, you are unable to see the questions you missed; it is frustrating and I feel like I would be better able to learn from my mistakes if I knew what they were. Also, Announcements, Modules and Assignments seem like the same thing - very redundant. I have started to simply the Assignments section and only go to Announcements/Modules. It is hard to mark an announcement as read which is bothersome because I feel like I have to constantly check to be sure that I am not missing something simply because an announcement I have already checked will not show as read. - That one of my professors Patti Jones expects students to turn in papers on campus. I've had classmates from complete different countries. - That SCC would use and promote technology that puts students at a disadvantage by it not working correctly. - That taking a science class online was going to be so hard. - That the online book is hard to follow since it is not on paper copy. - that the online quizzes have hidden questions that expand so you can't see the model you are being quizzed on. That the instructor had not gone through the course steps to see how messed up it was, that the due times are based on eastern time zone, that the crashes constantly, that s to the instructor are not answered in a timely manner or at all, that the course pwr pts are not viewable (mac) unless you have the latest MS software, that the (ECONO 100) modules are out of sequence (the quiz you take is not about what you just studied, but about the next module/text that you have not been informed about or studied) that assn syllabus does not correspond with the several different outlines of assn in several different locations all of which are different including due dates from Fall qtr, that the beginning course tasks are about reviewing and reinforcing what was covered and tested on but not allowed access to review any of the course tests to see what you didn't answer correctly, no study outline to review prior to any quiz, test, assn or tasks. that the discussion activities are due on a date, but not posted or included any instructions... and the list goes on and on... get rid of canvas or get it FIXED! - That the teacher would never reply and that all of our assignments were going to be super vague. - That there may be required group projects, or specific times classes are supposed to meet online. (This is relevant to classes I took last quarter - not this quarter.) - That there was no abstences no matter what. - That there would be midterms and final projects - That there would not be any video lectures. - That you should have read about what was coming up for the class. That I wouldn't get a day to overview the material when class started. - The amount of homework or reading required so I can better plan my time and decide how many classes I will be able to take during that quarter. If all three classes have a ton of reading then I might take only 2 but if one doesn't have much reading I could pair it with two classes that do and it allows me to better plan my courses. - The amount of reading required for this course - The book and all materials needed before class started. Maybe a week beforehand. - the book required - The Canvas application is fairly slow. You might consider upgrading your servers or otherwise improve performance. - the cost of the book. I would also like to see student reviews of the class and the teacher. - The course requirement calendar to know what to expect for assignments and scheduling. - The details of what the class was about, such as pushing the teacher's private agenda that has little to nothing to do with the class I signed up to take. - The differences in online student rights and the students who attend classes - the different ways to post information, and the options around that. Having numerous files to submit and only be able to submit one is extremely frustrating. - The difficulties that I would have getting the Financial Aid office at SCC to apply my scholarship funds toward my required books, fees, tuition, and supplies. It was a challenge to have to come up with $2400 while my scholarship money was sitting there waiting for me. - the exams for the Art History course are a bit over the top. Six hours for a midterm? I know it's an online course, but that's an entire day, on top of any other homework I have. - The frequency of assignments to turn in, i.e. every Monday such-and-such is due, etc. 7

- The information I needed was provided. - The online system the instructor uses, for example Canvas or Mc GrawHill or WebAssign etc. - The only classes that I have taken online were ones that I had to take online. There's no information that would have changed my decision. - The only complication you run into when taking an online class is the lack of the teacher-student relationship face to face. Fortunately, I took Eng 102 with Professor Gary Parks. He has never made it difficult to come in and get help. He was always available, responded to s quickly. That was definitely the best class I've ever taken and having a great reachable teacher made it all the worth while. - The reason why an online class costs more than a traditional class. - The rip off of the book prices and the fact that I DO NOT have a physical BOOK in my hands for the amount of money that was paid by my program. The fact that I CANNOT access a book that was PAID IN FULL for after 180 days is ridiculous and SCC, the faculty, the bookstore should all be ashamed that this is allowed to go on. Also the fact that I was not at least offered the OPTION of a physical book is ridiculous or that I could at least order one - this should have been at least an OPTION for me! - The syllabus. - There was an extreme amount of homework by both of my online classes! - There was so much reading. - Time involved in the class, as working full time & studying full time does not lead one to have social interaction with family. - to know how the class looks like - What services are applicable to being an online student as well as an on campus student, ie. do I qualify for student bus pass discount. And, that I am actually paying for physical campus fees as well as extra for online tech fees. It feels like it should not be more expensive than physical classroom time. - what text book to get before the class started and a way to interact with the instructor prior to class. - when working with other students, they do not answer their s and it is hard to work on group projects - Which book I needed for the course. - Which online classroom platform is being used. 7 - Did you have any computer difficulties when taking a class? Response Option Weight Frequency Percentage Percent Responses Means Yes (1) % No (2) % Unanswered (3) % Return Rate Mean STD Median 324/1,843 (17.58%) Question 8 - Was the technical support sufficient for your class? If not, why/please explain Return Rate 214/1,843 (11.61%) - Connect is extremely unreliable. Sometime it works on Firefox but not Chrome, sometimes it's the other way around, and sometimes it doesn't work on either. I've used their customer service multiple times and they don't have any idea why it only works sometimes. - Depends which class; some yes, some no - did not need support - Did not need technical support - Did not request technical support. - Did not use. No comment. - Didn't have any problems. - Didn't need any. 8

- Didn't need it. - Didn't need technical support, so it wasn't really applicable - Didn't use any - Don't know - Faster response to?'s - For Psychology 101 with Worley, the class was fine. However my education course was terrible. Response time for technical support from the instructor was little to none. - Have not required technical support - I did not have technical issues and the instructor organized the online class well with good instructions. - I did not have to use technical support. - I did not need technical support so I do not know how useful it was - I did not require any help so hard to say. - I didnt have a need for technical support but we were directed how to handle technical problems. - I didn't need technical support. - I didn't need to use it. - I don't know because I didn't need any. - I don't know, I didn't need any. - I don't need tech support it is too simple - I felt that I would have done better had I not encountered technical problems with testing and other various problems with canvas. I like the program, but it's obvious the program still has kinks. - I find the Canvas system is not as convenient/user friendly as the Blackboard as before, although I do not contact the technical support for this. - I guess since i have not had any trouble. - I have had no technical problems with my PC. The Android App although has not worked. When I asked about it my first term, which was Fall 2012, Patricia Wade bluntly wrote "then don't use it". - I have not used technical support. - I haven't received the response from the technical stuff yet. - I never ask for help so I am not sure. - I never ended up needing technical support. - I never used it. - i never used the technical support - I only needed support once and the professor resolved the issue by providing me with a PDF format of the video lecture - I was unable to get a program for a class lesson to open up. I notified IT but never received a response if it was fixed, I had to forego part of that learning lesson & found the answers I needed elsewhere. - I will be helpful if professors have video or something to explain how a certain technological tool is used. - I'm not aware of any. I know that I had trouble sending my documents into a PDF format and that it takes awhile to upload them into canvas. All i could do was to the professor for any technical inquiries that I had and hope that everything can be resolved around the problem. - In the beginning not much but I figured out how to navigate my way through this new system and now I think I'm about to tell where everything is. - It was completely worthless and I will never take a class using this technology ever again, I might not ever attend SCC again for its stupidity in using it without testing it first. I feel totally ripped off by the college. - It was not bad, - More than sufficient. I was having difficulties with a 3rd party site not recording my info and the instructor was more than accommodating while I got it all sorted out 9

- my lectures wouldn't work/ and tss couldn't fix it - NA - NA - NA - NA - NA - never needed it. - Never needed technical support. - Never used it. - NO because you have to have a specific computer for my computer aps class and it is so stupid., it has caused me so many problems. for the first time since being at shoreline i actually hate a class and think its a waste of my time - No I was unable to get a live person on the phone. I have to watch the lecture video in Explore and it looks like im watching an old kung fu movie. Her lips don't move with the video its awful - NO!, the online quizzes have hidden questions that expand so you can't see the model you are being quizzed on. - No, because they couldn't do anything about the problem. - No. I have an older system that was not capable to keeping up with one teachers media. - No. The instructor has us submit PICTURES of worksheets printed out from the PDF files that serve as our worksheets. We're supposed to print out the PDF file, do the assignment, take a picture of it, upload the picture to our computer, put the picture onto a word file, and then submit it. It's rather tedious, when we could instead just have the assignment itself on a word file. My printer driver doesn't recognize the font he uses for his PDF files and it prints out gibberish characters as a result, and when I told my instructor about it, he just told me "well you better get that fixed because everything uses PDF these days". That is certainly not true, as this is the first class that I've ever taken that had such a bizarre way of assignment submissions. I don't understand why we can't have the assignment itself as a word file, meaning we should be able to just download the word file, fill it out, and then upload it back. But no, instead we have to download a PDF file that's a huge hassle for me to get it to print out correctly, fill it out, take a picture of the worksheet, upload it back to our computer, and THEN put it onto a word file. Why can't we just download a word file, fill it out, and submit it? The end result would be exactly the same. - No. We got answers, but it would take 4-6 days to get an answer from the librarian and hours to get an answer (usually) from the instructor. Not sufficient. 10

- no..had to learn on my own how to navigate the canvas and pairing with the text book - None used - Not at all, The new Canvas program has been a challenging experience for me. - not really. - Problems with homework answers disappearing, even after saving (when working in short segments of time doing the online homework and quizzes). I adopted the technique of taking screenshots of all that I had entered - so if it was wiped out the next time I entered the homework screen, I could re-enter with less time and effort. - Resolved on my own. - Sometimes. Other times they do not have an answer or the site is just malfunctioning without any explanation. This is the worst when you try to submit work by a deadline and the site is not responding. Professors rarely bend to these difficulties unless multiple students have the same issues. I have had trouble with submitting when my internet access is secure and even though I can open any other internet site I want, Canvas will still not respond. - Support was sufficient. - Teacher dealt with it and problem was fixed quickly - Technical support has been great throughout all my quarters. - Technical support was good. At this time I haven't needed any extra assistance for this class. - Tegrity does not work well and is a nightmarish experience! Don't like the Respondus Lock-down browser either. - Tegrity lectures do not show the images, just the volume on my computer. - The McGraw-Hill textbooks are pretty good, but when taking quizzes through their website, sometimes the questions and answers display so small on the screen that you can't read them, even if you make the screen bigger. This has happened with McGrawHill books for two different classes, and I left them feedback about it. - The problem was with me not the online course. - The problems were with my own internet connection. The professor was very understanding and accommodating about it. - The technical support was good, when I needed help, I got it and the problem was fixed. - There was a time the professor did not make the upload tool accessible and the discussion board would not allow me to upload a Power Point - There were a couple times that I never saw the announcement posted or that it was poster two days later than it should have been. - There were a few problems with access to McGraw Hill Connect and the technical support of slow. They would send out an letting me know that they got my , but then I wouldn't hear back from them for a couple of days and that is way too long. By then any assignments or tests were overdue, etc. - Very helpful!! - very sufficient - Wi-Fi went out in our neighborhood a couple of times. 11

- YES 12

it was it was good. very fast. it was sufficient for my class. it was. it was. Plenty of help when needed. the teacher helped they helped me with an issue I had/, but I had to learn a lot of trouble shooting just to keep my computer going., during my class we got offered help from the teacher as well as a canvas technical support specalist. Both were prompt in responses and available to help always!, i didn't really have any technical difficulties during this time., I was able to get technical support. 13

, it helped very much in explaining how to use the website., it was., mostly it is, my difficulties were not on any of the schools sites, rather, this class uses the textbooks site. That is the one I have had many issues with., my nutrition teacher was very understanding and allowed me to finish the quiz that froze on me., no problems with any tech support., only because I had previous knowledge of Canvas., they helped me and within 30 minutes I was able to do what I needed to do I felt I was responded within the time.. Switching from blackboard to canvas was really great, this was done a while ago, but I would like to state that canvas is a really great online learning platform. The canvas help desk has been very good at assisting with any technical issues. 9 - Are there any classes you would like to see online in the future? Return Rate 200/1,843 (10.85%) - Actually, I would like to see more evening classes offered. Online is ok and offers flexibility for many, but I would have preferred to be on campus in the evening. - All - All classes available on Campus, Please. 14

- All classes execept labs - All classes offered in a traditional classroom should be offered online. There are quite a few of us who work the overnight shift who CANNOT attend day classes. - All classes should be available online if possible - All of the courses required to earn the Music Technology: Performance Associates degree. I am unsure as to how I will complete this degree due to working full time and children at home. I am hoping more classes will become available online. - All of them - All of them! - All of them! I would take classes all the time even after graduation. I love learning and as a mother of 2 online makes getting classes in possible. - All of them. - American Sign Language. I need this online in order to transfer - Anatomy and Physiology - Anthropology - Any and all. Online classes are so much better for me and I would like to obtain a degree without having to go to school. - any class would be good to give people like me a chance to take it regardless of location - As many as possible. - business administration classes - Business Law -- it is needed for a lot of programs and would be great if you could take it online - can't really think of any - Can't really think of any - Chemistry to be online except for the labs - Comm for social change, rights and multi media. Majority of music theory classes. - Computer science. - Econ ENGLISH Everything - Everything I needed was available. - Foreign language, lower level Chemistry. - Foreign Language. Especially Spanish for English Speakers. But so much language education can be done online it seems the Community Colleges could be a hub for all manner of basic language education, and what a great contribution to society and world peace. - HIIM Cancer registry - How to use my smartphone LOL. :) - Humanities - HUM111 English - ENG111, ENG112, ENG113, ENG228 Drama - DRMA101 I want to take online classes of "W" for UW writing requirement. - I am not interested in taking online courses. There seems to be a huge disconnect between being responsive and attentive to students who are online only. It was that way when I first went to college 7 years ago, and it hasn't changed. - I am not prepared to make a statement on said question at the time. - I am not sure - I could really care less what the college should do, if you cant figure it out, then you shouldn't be teaching. - I do need to take a Math in Early Education class, not sure if it is offered online, I'm not seeing it anywhere. - I don't know 15

- I don't know yet - I don't think I will be taking online classes in the future. It has been more difficult for me to keep up to date with the work. - I have to take on line classes because of my job. So I will be taking lots more. - I haven't checked if they are or not but I would like most of the criminal justice degree classes online. It would be ideal since I work during the daytime and night time classes. - I haven't had any problems so far with finding classes that I want to take online. - I haven't really thought about it, at this time I do not have any classes that I want to be on-line. - I honestly would like to see an option to take any classroom class online, or at least with a hybrid schedule such as my Chem 121 meeting every Friday for 3 hours. This is the only thing that allows me to progress farther down my path of getting a degree and improving my chances for a good career. I'm honestly scared that I will be unable to continue my college career as classes get more specialized and are not offered online. Although I feel the online path is harder for me, it is currently the only way I can operate while still maintaining my multiple jobs. - I like Hybrid classes or classes on campus, so no. - I think all classes should be offered online. It would make it very easy for many people to go to school or even take more classes each quarter if all classes were offered online. - I think all the classes should have online classes in the future. - I think the classes offered online right now are great and very beneficial to students! - I will be enrolling in the HIIT program so all classes are online. - I will be taking all of my classes online. - I would be glad to see any classes that are able to be available online to be available. It is really helpful to students like me who have a hard time attending classes at the available times. A specific class would be Lifespan Psychology because I need that course and there is only one time available. It would also be very helpful if more evening classes or afternoon classes were available for students who work. - I would honestly rather have face to face classes more just because I feel like I learn more from traditional lectures and class discusions - I would just like to see many of the courses in the Medical Coding and Billing Certification offered more than once a year. - I would like all classes that have been offered one quarter to be offered the next. I don't have time to wait around to fulfill a requirement. Many of us are here to finish our two years and move onto a university - we can't do that if our requirements aren't available. Also, many classes have 1-4 sections, because the classes fill up so fast, however, I think all classes need 1-4 sections, especially required classes. I can't take something if the class is already filled up - regardless of there being a waitlist. - I would like to see a study skills class on line for 3 months using s mindmapping program from and it would be nice if we can have a lecture on something in person or by video to test out the strategies if we are not in a class room setting. I would like to see this class in the catalog in two years or less. I'm ready to sign up. - I would like to see all classes be offered online in the future! I think its a much better way for me to learn personally. - I would like to see more lab science courses and more online courses with teacher diversity (don't have the same teacher teach two online stats classes next quarter because students want choice) - I would like to see music theory as a hybrid (partially online) class. - I would like to see online science classes, and more online math options (calculus). - I would like to see some alternatives for professor selection. I'm currently working on my Business degree. To graduate with this degree, I need to complete the threepart Accounting series. I work full-time and night classes don't start late enough for me to do anything other than online courses. In this particular series, only Dan King is available as an online instructor. Given the formatting issues I've outlined above, I find myself struggling in a series that I would genuinely like to be learning from -- Accounting is a key function of running a business. It's incredibly frustrating to not have an alternative. - I would like to see them *all* offered online, barring those that are absolutely hands-on - even these can be taught virtually though. - I would rather prefer that they dont any online classes at all. - I'd like to see more teachers than just one to take the Excel/Access classes from. - I'd love to see the entire graphic design course catalog offered online. It's a great program, and I can't see any reason why these classes can't be done online since a lot of the work is digital anyway. - I'm not a big fans of online class - I'm not going to be taking another online course unless I have no choice and it isn't available during the day since I need the structure of school to better grasp the subject at hand. That's just me though and it could very well work for others that can better organize their time and work. 16

- In order to complete an AAAS degree i need CMST 101 and I believe that is not online. If that is true I will have to take it somewhere else. - it should be more classes available when it is full, specially for us when we already took several classes. - It would be great to see most all classes offer online scheduling. - Just a wider range of choices. - Lab classes! - language classes - Language classes would be an offering I'd like to see (like French, Russian, Spanish). - Language courses. Specifically Spanish. - LANGUAGE! It is really hard to take a language class when there is so little availability during the day. Also it would be really cool if there were Drama classes offered online as well. - Languages, for those who can't fit the campus scheduled ones. - Life Span Psychology PSYC & MATH Math for Elementary schools math&171 - Math&142 (Precalculus 2). I find it strange precalculus 1 is offered online but not precalculus 2. Also, there isn't an evening option available for precalculus 2 next quarter, so I will have to take it at a different school. - Maybe - Medical Anthropology, etc? - Microbiology.. Just kidding, we need the lab. - Mind control and how to win the lottery. - More classes in general should be offered online. Especially psychology classes, like social psychology, abnormal psych and so on. I really enjoy the way my psychology class is set up, and I enjoy reading over the material and writing the responses at my own pace versus going into school. I work full time and am currently going to school full time, so it's hard to find time to do homework. Online classes allow me to do this and be able to plan out when I have time to do homework since I can see when everything is due weeks ahead of time. - More engineering courses - More hybrid science courses with only lab on campus. I have to work to support myself and don't have much choice with when I can take science classes. - More ICD-10 coding classes are needed, esp during spring and summer quarter. Oct. 1st is fast approaching and there surely must be an increased need for these classes to be offered before then. - More in general would be helpful. - More math. - More offered online, the better. - More theater and psychology classes offered online. - Most of the classes in my program are all online. - My whole program is completed online., my whole program is online. 17

- NA - NA - NA - no - No - no - No - NO - no - NO - no - No - No - No - no - no - No - no - no - No - no - NO - No - no but i strongly believe that computer applications be taken off the requirement list. - No comment. - No specific classes in mind at this time. - No, however I would like to see more weekend classes for adult learners - No, I hate online classes. I want more classes available on campus. - No, I'll probably never do an online class again as I found it very difficult to do with my learning style. - No, most of the classes I'm taking or are required to take do not translate well to an on-line forum. - No, there are many online classes, all of which I believe are sufficient enough. - No. - No. - No. - No. - No. - No. - No. 18

- NO. It really is okay to have SOME HUMAN CONTACT in your life. Really! - None - None - None - None at this time - None at this time - None I can think of off the top of my head. - None that I can think about. - None that I can think of. - None that I know of as of now. - None, I don't like them. But they might work for others. Oh and the education classes shouldn't be online, that doesn't make sense. - None. - Nope - nope. - nope. - Not any that i could think of, right now. - Not as of right now. - not at the moment - Not at the moment. - Not at the moment. - not for now - NOT IF THERE ANYTHING LIKE THIS CLASS! - Not sure - Not sure at this time - not sure yet since its my first quarter. - Not sure yet, any class that doesn't require hands on activities such as labs. - Not sure yet, so far all the classes I've wanted to take are online. Plus there are classes that should be face to face and are better taken in the class. - Not sure. Way too much work on the computer - Not that I can think of - Not that I can think of. - Not that I can think of. - Not that I can think of. - Not that I can think of. - Not yet. - Nothing in particular. - nothing specific - Nursing pre-requesites. going to school for the lab only - Organic Chemistry 19

- P.E... HAHA - Perhaps more music software classes. - Perhaps, haven't decided if the experience is rewarding or not. - Photography or physical education that's more about actual fitness not specifically health - Physics - Prealgebra - Precalc 2 - Pro Tools - Probably, but can't think of any at the moment. - Psyc202-Biopyscology is a class I would like to see online. It's practically online now, but was still instructed in class, though I thought it would better suit students if it was offered online. - psychology - spanish - The ablility to audit some of the classes I have already taken. - This survey was mis labeled. The online experience is just fine. The canvas website is fine it even works overseas. The ipad app is not great though. The instruction is not so fine. Where's the survey for that? It is clearly stated in SCC policies, handbook etc. what is expected of students, but where do the students know what things they should expect from an instructor? Like timeliness of grades? - This will be my last class with shoreline so I don't have a preference. - Writing Stage Plays in theatre. a lot. Looking at spring quarter there aren't many to choose from., Communication studies and Multicultural studies. I mean theoretic courses in general., multicultural studies.. All of them. I am a full time student and I work FUll time. It is very hard to try ro complete a degree in the time frame I want, when I cannot find an inline or evening class aavailable. My schedule just simply not allow it. I just want to see the class times geared more toward the working ADULT.. Chemistry, Math, biology 20
