14 LESSON # 11 TH 708 THEOLOGY WORKSHOP Conduct an independent research study in your area of theology interest that would be beneficial to you. Part of the intent of the research is to gain knowledge, understanding, and experience. Spend a reasonable amount of time researching. Prepare a five to seven page report of your research. Your pages should have: 1. A heading that identify the main topic. 2. An untitled introduction. (a) State the purpose of your research and (b) identify the main points that will follow 3. A pre-research commentary. (a) Describe the area of your research (b) Describe your expectation and assumptions before beginning the research study (c) What did you expect to receive from the research? 4. A description of notable highlights and learning outcome from your research. 5. Applications that the research will bring to your ministry. 6. A summary that highlights the result of your research.

16 LESSON # 13 TH 628 PRACTICUM Because this is a distance study program classroom supervision is not possible. Select an area of ministry that you are interested in and express your thoughts as to how one can most effectively minister to others using your theory. Please keep your writing to five to seven pages.
17 LESSON # 14 TH 690 DISSERTATION This writing project should represent the culmination of your educational and practical experience. The subject must deal exclusively with the major area of study. This 16,000 to 25,000 word dissertation must be footnoted and include an extensive bibliography. Present to J.C.T.U. in the form of two bound copies. One copy is for J.C.T.U. and one copy is to be returned to you. The title of the dissertation and subject matter to be covered must be presented to J.C.T.U. for approval prior to the beginning of the research project.
