2 The New Man The New Man The Real You The New You Your Born Again Spirit Your Spirit from eternity past that once was the delight of Christ, but came into this world darkened and sinful, but now made brand new through Jesus Christ.

3 We are 3 fold beings And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thessalonians 5:23 Body Soul Spirit

4 Salvation Bodies will be Glorified Spirits are Born Again, Justified, redeemed, made right with God Souls to be Sanctified progressively

5 Bodies will be Glorified Earth suit to carry your soul and spirit through time on the earth. We will put it off and it will return to the ground or be raptured. The Body is temporarily full of sin, sickness and death. We are to care for our body, it is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It will be saved when it gets Glorified. Christians will get a new resurrected, glorified body.

6 Rapture For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. I Thessalonians 4:16-7

7 Be changed Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. I Corinthians 15:51-54

8 Glorified Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Romans 8:30 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Philippians 3:21

9 Spirit is Justified Your Spirit is the Real You Came from Eternity Past By faith in what Jesus did at the cross we get our sins forgiven and forgotten Our Spirit gets Born Again Our spirits are saved from penalty of sin. We are not guilty, price paid in full Our Spirit is Justified, reconciled with God Jesus s righteousness is imputed to us

10 Your Spirit gets Born Again Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:3, 6-7

11 The New Man And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:24 The new man is that part of you that has been born again in your spirit.

12 All things become New Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Corinthians 5:17 All things become new in your spirit, not in your body or your soul.

13 The New Man joined to our Born Again Spirit But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. I Corinthians 6:17 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. I John 3:9 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. I John 4:17

14 Our Souls need Sanctifying That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Romans 8:4-7

15 Carnally minded Carnal: Flesh stripped of the skin. Human nature with its passions and frailties. Looking at things from the natural realm instead of from the spiritual realm. A carnally minded person is full of doubt and unbelief. He walks by sight instead of by faith. He believes what he sees, feels and experiences more than he believes the Word of God. The carnal mind is more impressed with the kingdom of darkness that the kingdom of God.

16 Souls need to be Transformed I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2 This is progressive salvation. Our souls being sanctified and saved from the power of sin. We need to know the truth and learn to think like God thinks.

17 Sanctification And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:28-29 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. I Peter 1:9 God is continually and progressively sanctifying and saving our souls. It takes a lifetime but we are becoming more and more like Jesus Christ.

18 Summary: 3 fold beings Bodies of Christians will be gloried at the Rapture. Souls of Christians are carnal and are in the process of being sanctified, it takes a lifetime. Spirits of Christians are justified and are in right standing with God. Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit live within our Spirits which has had a new birth and given a new identity.

19 Our Relationship with God Should we view our relationship with God from our carnal souls perspective or from Gods? How does God see or view us? What is our relationship with God like from his perspective? Jesus died to give us a New Man or a new identity. The Father sacrificed His son on a cross to Justify us and give us a new man. Shouldn t we honor God and acknowledge this. We have 3 identities. Which one should we live from? Which one did God radically change for us?

20 The dynamics of our relationship with God 1. What is your identity? 2. Do you view life from this new identity? 3. How do you approach God? 4. How do you communicate with God? 5. Are you scared of God or do you respect, honor and reverence Him? 6. How does God view you? What does He think of you when He sees you? 7. Are you in agreement with Him?

21 #1 What is your identity? I am made new, Born Again, all things new. I am justified and in right standing with God. I am a child of God, all sins forgiven. I am in Christ. Clothed in His righteousness. No guilt, no fear, no condemnation. This is who I am, the real me. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. I John 4:17

22 #2 Do you view life from this New Identity or from the old? Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Romans 6:6 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:11 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24 The old man is dead, he is not the real you or the new you. AA program makes them say, I m an addict. I disagree with this. You get victory by stepping into your new identity.

23 #3 How do you approach God? Do you come to God from your old man, or from your new man? Are you looking at God or your flesh when you pray? Do you feel like a gnat on an elephants back? Stop looking at the gnat and start magnifying the elephant. We should make much more of Jesus and how awesome He is and much less about our flesh. Does the way you approach God give him honor, respect and glory, or does it offend God?

24 Approach with Praise After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Matthew 6:9 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: Psalms 100:4 You re a good, good Father, that s who you are, and I m loved by you, that s who I am. Demonstration

25 #4 How do you communicate with God? And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Matthew 6:5-8

26 Pray w/o Ceasing If your closet experience is marking time, dead and lifeless, maybe it has become a form or habit. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I Thessalonians 5:16-18 How about just hanging out with God all day long. Be in constant communication with Him.

27 Stop Begging and start Believing Prayer should start and end with praise. We should communicate with God from our new identity and out of our love relationship with Him. Stop asking for so much and just start believing Him for what He has already done. And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,... Acts 16:30-31 by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24

28 #5 Fear the LORD Are you scared of God or do you respect, honor and reverence Him? Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. I John 4:17 You give God honor and glory when you walk in faith receiving what He has done for you. You magnify His goodness, grace and truth when you claim your new identity.

29 #6 Gods Perspective How does God view you? What does He think of you when He sees you? God sees the believer hid in Christ. Righteous, forgiven and not condemned. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. II Corinthians 5:21 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 5:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1

30 #7 Are you in agreement with Him? That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. Philemon 1:6 I encourage you today to begin making much of Jesus and what He has already done for you, and making much less of your carnal mind that He is in the process of changing. Begin living from your new, true identity. Jesus Christ lives in your born again Spirit, realize it and release Him. Begin communicating to God from God s perspective, your new identity. See yourself like God sees you, In Christ. This is what walking by faith and not by sight is all about. Faith is believing the Word of God more than what I see.

31 Keys to Victory For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. I Corinthians 2:2 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13..Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6
