1 Curriculum Vitae Personal details: Name: Valentí Bosch-Ramon Birth date: May 30 th, 1979 in Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) Nationality: Spanish Affiliation: Universitat de Barcelona Present position: Ramon y Cajal Fellow (tenure track) Languages: Catalan, Spanish, English, German Summary: I am an expert in the study the high-energy processes occurring in galactic jet sources, like microquasars, pulsar binaries and YSO, and in small and large scale jets of AGN. This theoretical work also embraces the use of numerical calculations (Monte-Carlo and hydrodynamical simulations), and has been developed in close contact with radio, optical, X-ray and gamma-ray observations. I got my PhD in 2006 with Excellent Cum Laude by unanimity, with European mention, extraordinary prize of Universitat de Barcelona, and among the best five thesis of SEA The research carried out has been presented in 90 refereed publications, 31 of them with me as first author. Of this 90 papers, 14 are works with the MAGIC collaboration in which I had a significant or very significant (drafter team; sometimes proposer team) contribution, 1 Science among them. Starting publishing in 2004, the citations to these 84 papers are ~2100 (~440 normalized citations), with a corresponding Hirsch-number H=27 (ADS). I have also published >50 non-refereed publications. Finally, beside there are 49 additional refereed publications of MAGIC in which I was co-author, but with a nonsignificant contribution. Accounting all the publications, the number of citations is ~4900 and H=41). Regarding other aspects of my experience, I have done 21 research stays in international research centres, attended to 59 conferences and schools, and given 42 talks in scientific meetings, among them 30 invited, and 30 seminars in international research centres. I am responsible of the theoretical area in the group led by Prof. J. M. Paredes (DAM, Phys.Fac., UB), in which I got my doctorate. I am also associated member of the relativistic astrophysics and radioastronomy group led by Prof. G. E. Romero (IAR/UNLP), and of the high-energy astrophysics group led by Prof. F. Aharonian in Heidelberg (MPIK). I have provided theoretical tutoring in the PhD thesis of Dr. Pol Bordas (dir. J. M. Paredes; PhD October 2009), Dr. Anabella T. Araudo (dir. G. E. Romero; PhD September 2010) and Victor Zabalza (dir. J. M. Paredes; PhD planned 2011). I am directing the graduate thesis of Santiago de Palacio together (with Prof. G. E. Romero), and the PhD thesis of Xavier Paredes-Fortuny (with Dr. M. Ribó) and of Víctor Moreno (with Dmitry Khangulyan). I have been member of the PhD thesis jury of Dr. Reynoso (March 2009), Dr. Bordas (October 2009), Javier Moldón (July 2012) and Florencia Vieyro (November 2013). I have been referee of several scientific journals (MNRAS, A&A, ApJ, IJMPD, PASJ, Ap&SS, BAAA, Adv. In Astr.), being also reviewer of international projects (FONCYT, Argentina). I have been chairman in 9 international conferences. I have experience organizing international conferences and schools (11), being the main organizer of 4 international workshops, and in teaching and lecturing, having the habilitation to obtain a permanent contract in university (professor agregat by AQU-Catalunya); I have been professor in an international school of astrophysics, invited professor at honorem (two lectures on jets) in the National University of La Plata; and visiting Professor at La Plata University. I have more than 250 hours of experience teaching to graduate and undergraduate students in the Universitat de Barcelona. I was member of the MAGIC collaboration until December 2009, and presently I am involved in the gamma-ray binary working group of CTA. I am member of the Spanish Astronomical Association (SEA), and of the IAU. I was selected to present a research project in the Max Planck Research Group workshop 2010 (candidate pressure ~10 to 1). I have been awarded with a Ramon y Cajal tenure track, being the first in a list of 236 candidates. I have been awarded with a career integration grant by the REA (EU). I have given 3 divulgative talks on jet emission and black-holes, and I have written a divulgative book

2 on black-holes (Ed. Kaikron). I have the habilitation to teach in high schools (CAP) by Universitat de Barcelona.
