1 Product Overview Interoute s VPN Branch / IHC is specifically designed to deliver an efficient, simple and cost effective way of connecting together your sites in multiple locations and countries to provide a single fully managed wide area network (WAN) capability. VPN Branch / IHC is a single layer-3 VPN service with Ethernet presentation. It provides managed secure access to your IP VPN from a remote branch site via reliable regional suppliers of xdsl connectivity. As a part of the service, we include the provision of the telephone line that is a necessary component of the internet connection over xdsl. A VPN Branch Connector instance for terminating the secure tunnels from the remote Branch sites on the Interoute network is hosted in an Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC) and is provided free as part of the service. 1

2 Typical Implementations VPN Branch / IHC service is recommended for customer sites requiring a single layer-3 VPN connectivity with a typical 10Mbps downstream capacity. It is an ideal service for: Small office locations and retail shops that need to access private resources and share corporate applications. Enterprises that don t want to have a multitude of contracts, different contact desks and pricing for their network services. Enterprises requiring secure access to the Cloud Technical Product Details VPN Branch / IHC provides a customer site with secure connectivity back to their private network across Interoute s core backbone. A xdsl modem and a fully pre-configured Cisco CPE router are shipped to your site. Connect the cables (supplied by Interoute together with the modem and CPE) and switch on the devices, following instructions in the Installation Guide. The service will be activated automatically. VPN Branch is a single layer-3 VPN service with Ethernet presentation. A private, customer-dedicated Branch Connector terminates multiple secure tunnels from multiple geographically dispersed sites. VPN Branch / Interoute Hybrid Connect Bring Your Own Internet (BYOI) You have an option to procure or use your own Internet access to connect to VPN with Interoute s VPN Branch / IHC service. Cisco CPE router and a Connector are provided and managed by Interoute. The following minimum specifications must be met for the successful delivery and operation of the Service. WAN interface IP address can only be assigned using DHCP. The CPE (Cisco 881) provided by Interoute shall be connected to a device that supports full DHCP capabilities. The CPE will request an IP address, subnet mask and a default gateway to connect to the Internet. WAN interface can have either a) a Public IP address; or b) an RFC1918 NAT-ed IP Address. When RFC1918 IP addresses are used for the WAN interface it is solely customer s responsibility to ensure that the subnet is not reused somewhere else on their network. Interoute provided CPE WAN interface accepts Ethernet presentation only. 2 2
