Briefly triggering the additional sensors at the rear of the vehicle with a small foot movement is sufficient. The key for the Keyless Access opening and closing system provides the authorisation. The ACC adaptive cruise control matches the speed to that of the vehicle driving ahead within the system thresholds, for example when driving in the city or on the motorway, and maintains the distance set. The Front Assist area monitoring system registers that another vehicle has approached too close and in an emergency, for example at slow speeds, produces so much brake pressure that collision severity can in many cases be diminished or even avoided completely.
