2 MVP & powered Chrysler - Dodge - Jeep - Plymouth All Chrysler products require a PIN Code to Erase & Program keys. Here is the breakdown for what is needed for the different systems. Type 1, Type 2, PACIFICA Systems: A 4-digit number PIN Code is required from the dealer or N.A.S.T.F (nastf.org) On Type1 cars the Immo box can be removed and AD-38 tool (option device sold advanced Diagnostics) can used to get the PIN CODE. On 2001 & up Type2 cars the PIN CODE can be read out via the OBD port. (Requires ADS-157 Software) on All Pacifica systems require a PIN CODE and it CANNOT be read from the vehicle via the OBD port. Sebring & Stratus 2Door Hardtop Systems: This car is made Mitsubishi and is the same platform as the Mitsubishi Eclipse. The PIN Code is built into the MVP & for key programming and is NOT needed you. CAN 1-5 Systems: A 4-digit number PIN Code is required. It can be read via the OBD port in most cases. (Requires ADS-157 Software on ) FOBIK CAN Systems: FOBIK system was introduced in 2008 on selected models Chrysler. The ignitions are now plastic electronic modules with no actual lock parts such as tumblers. All models will use a similar looking remote type key. From 3 buttons all the way up to 7 buttons, depending on options. A 4-digit number PIN Code is required. CLEAR FAULT CODES PROCEDURE COMPLETE There are two possible reasons you may see an ERROR screen. 1) You are using the wrong key, this is the most common. Make sure your keys have an N stamped on the blade. 2) The Immobilizer System is locked. This occurs when you try to access the system too many times or have selected the wrong menu choice. To unlock the system; A) Disconnect the Device from the OBD2 port. B) Leave the key turned to the ON position for at least 1 hour. Use a jumper box to prevent battery drain for 1 hour. 11 powered MVP & Chrysler PACIFICA System - Fault Codes - Fault Codes - Fault Codes - Fault Codes is a way for the vehicle to report problems it has with hardware on it. A problem with the fuel pump would be a hardware problem. The fault code would have an ID and a short description of the problem. Transponder keys and parts that make up the transponder system have fault codes associated with them. If everything is working fine there should be no fault codes. Once you enter remote programming a chime will be heard. If the above procedure is not performed other chimes may interfere with the remote programming chime. 19 powered MVP & CHRYSLER FOBIK 2010 The Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Fobik remote system is made up of several different modules and systems depending on the supplier to Chrysler. There are variations to the type of system that is used on these vehicles. The rule of thumb should always be to try the Fobik system we list first and then if you get an error code, switch to the next Fobik system. Challenger & other later vehicles may be equipped with an option called Keyless Go that includes a Push-to-Start button ignition. For programming - the Button is removed and a Fobik Ignition is behind it. Check the KEY-LOOK-UP GUIDE for proper system selection. There may be several different Fobik remote s depending on exact model, check with dealer for the correct Fobik VIN. MVP User s Note: Using the MVP to Read the PIN number will require 1 Token and programming the Fobik will require 1 additional token also. If you can get the PIN number from the dealer that will save you a Token. Once you connect to the vehicle and get security access (Web or SMC) you can go in and erase and program as many FOBIK as the vehicle allows and use only the one Token - if you have the pin. You can also switch systems A or B once you have security access as long as you remain connected, if you unplug of course you have to get security access again. 29 powered MVP & Chrysler SKIM Functions for Type 1 & 2 Procedure for SKIM Functions The SKIM (Sentry Key Immobilizer Module) is located in the antenna ring. The antenna ring is what surrounds the ignition lock and makes the data exchange between the transponder chip in the key and the SKIM. On some occasions, it may be necessary to replace the SKIM because of damage to the SKIM and the ignition lock due to a theft attempt. 61 powered MVP & CHRYSLER PROX KEYLESS GO Chrysler / Dodge Keyless GO proximity systems was first introduced on the 2009 Dodge Challenger as optional upgrades. Now expanded to Dodge Durango & Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle is shipped with the Push to Start button removed and the Fobik remote s are used in the Fobik ignition to Start and Stop the engine. After the vehicle arrives at the dealership and is taken out transport mode - the Push to Start button is placed into the front of the Fobik ignition. When the proximity Fobik remote is recognized inside the vehicle - the driver can press on the brake pedal and press the Start button to start and stop the engine. Replacement Fobik proximity remote s are programmed like other Fobik remote s inserting them into the Fobik ignition switch. On the Keyless Go removable push button systems described above anytime any programming procedures are performed on the FOBIK keys there is a matching function called MATCH KEYLESS GO on the menu that must be performed as a last step. This function enables the PUSH TO START button to work. Without performing this function the FOBIK keys will only function inserting the keys in the ignition with the button removed. The matching is always performed last and after any keys are added or deleted. Once this function is completed the Fobik keys will operate as PROXIMITY keys allowing the vehicle to start with the Start push button installed. This new system is called GEN 4 for being Chrysler s generation version 4. A more technical name that is used is RFH for Radio Frequency Hub. This system is a true proximity system. The Start button cannot be removed as there is no ignition behind it. The presence of the proximity remote near the front doors will unlock the vehicle when pulling on the door handle only. No need to press the rubber nubs on the outside door handles. The center console area is used for proximity remote learning. There is no learning slot.
