2 A Message From Our Pastor *** Johnny Ray Noble, Ph.D. *** To the Youth of Second Nazareth: I salute you and all of your achievements this year. I know you have worked hard throughout the school year and you are having a prosperous summer in the Lord thus far. I see the work you are doing with the Youth Ministry, Christian Education, and our Vacation Bible School held earlier this month. Your Youth Day theme this year states, Youth Only Loving One God s First Commandment supported by Matthew 22: We believe and are committed to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, which will provide growth for our church and the Kingdom of God. Now that you have committed to keeping God s first commandment, I ask that you learn and remember all of God s commandments. I pray that you will remain committed to loving God with all your heart, your mind, your soul and loving your fellowman. Always remember there are people cheering you on as you grow in your Christian walk and work to achieve your goals and dreams in life. I wish you great and continued success in your endeavors. Remember, only what you do for Christ will last. I am proud of all your accomplishments for the Kingdom and proud to be your Pastor. I love you all and my prayer is you will keep on loving God. 4 *** Mini Youth Speaker *** *** Myles D. Branic *** Myles Davis Branic is a fourth generation member of Second Nazareth Baptist Church. He is the great grandson of Sister I. D. Green, grandson of Sister Dorothy F. Branic, the youngest son of Brother Willie Eugene and Sister Myra Davis Branic and the brother of Willie Eugene (Tre') Branic, III. Academically, Myles has been on the AB Honor Roll every year of elementary school and has received a Student Superlative Award for Conduct and Behavior and a Certificate for Perfect Attendance. He has also received a Certificate of Excellence for Math, Reading, Social Studies and Science as well as an Honorable Mention Certificate for his Art abilities. Myles has achieved many accomplishments as a result of his talent in art. He received the first place award in the Richland School District I Elementary Arts Wild Things Exhibit which was displayed at Riverbanks Zoo during the Christmas holidays. In his extra-curricular activities, Myles received his yellow belt in karate from the Tony Thomas School of Karate and he plays Left Field with the Nationals Baseball Team in the Meadow Lake Baseball League. He is most proud of his accomplishments as an awesome football player with the Bull Dogs of the Greenview Park Football League. With his outstanding abilities as left tackle on offense and nose guard on defense, his team won the Midget Division Championship! As an active member of the Second Nazareth youth department, Myles offers his talents with the Children's Choir. He has also previously attended the National Baptist Youth Convention in order to increase his awareness of biblical teachings. Myles motto is "if you believe it, you can achieve it" which is backed by his favorite scripture: I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me (Philippians 4:13 KJV).

5 *** Main Youth Speaker *** *** Jordhan L. Irvine *** Jordhan L. Irvine was born on March 14, 1994 in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She is the daughter of Janet Irvine and John Irvine. During her younger years, Jordhan s family became members of Victory Church of Stone Mountain. She began her spiritual foundation at Victory Church by attending Sunday School, Bible Study, singing on the choir, praise dance, and worship services. Jordhan participated in extra-curricular activities such as cheerleading, acting, soccer, and Tae Kwon Do. In September of 2005, Jordhan and her mother relocated to Columbia, South Carolina to be closer to family. Although this was a challenging experience for her, Jordhan decided to regroup and focus on one of the things she enjoyed more than anything which is reading. She started working at the Richland County Public Library in October of By the time Jordhan was a freshman in high school, she had received an award for over 200 hours of service at the Library and in 2008 and 2009 she received the Presidential award for hours of service. As high school freshmen, Jordhan also joined the ROTC at Spring Valley High School. In her sophomore year, she became a member of the Color Guard as a member of the Spring Valley High School Band. As a junior, she also joined her high school s Gospel Choir. In her senior year, Jordhan was more focused on academics and decided that upon graduation, she would enlist in the U.S. Air Force. Jordhan s motto is: If you want to be somebody, and you want to go somewhere, you better wake up and pay attention. Her favorite scripture from the Bible is Psalm 150.

6 *** Our Guest *** *** *** Reverend Ryan S. Warren is the 20-year old son of Robyn L. Warren and the late Isaiah Simon. He is married to the former Bethany Keys. is the youth Pastor and Associate Minister to Rev. Dr. P.W. Wise, Pastor of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Camden, SC. He was ordained on December 13, He started preaching at Edwards Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church under the leadership of Rev. R.G. Dawkins. In the beginning, Rev. Warren was an exhorter which is defined as a person who urges others strongly and earnestly to do something. He then became a local preacher with the guidance of Romans 10:14-15 (NIV) which says, 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things. Rev. Warren is employed by Hailes Funeral Home in Camden, SC. He is the former President of the VCYC of the Columbia/Camden District of the A.M.E. Zion Denomination. He is the President of the Membership Committee of the NAACP and the Chaplin of the Kershaw County NAACP Branch. Rev. Warren is a Third Degree Prince Hall Master Mason of Composite Lodge # 372 of Camden, SC. He is a member of the Black Caucus and a Dare to be a Daniel Certified Evangelist. He has also served as a volunteer for the Barack Obama Campaign is very involved in the community. Rev. Warren s motto is: I m just a nobody, trying to tell everybody, about somebody, who can save anybody.

7 *** Acknowledgements *** On behalf of the Second Nazareth Baptist Church Youth Ministry, I sincerely thank each and every person who helped in any way with this year s Youth Day Observance program. Our youth selected a powerful and meaningful theme which required them to think about whom they love and worship. It is important that praise and worship are relevant for their generation; however, it is also imperative that they understand that as a Christian, loving God should be first and foremost in their lives. I encourage all of you to continue to help instilling in our youth that God wants and deserves their love, praise, and worship. Please continue to pray for our youth they are deserving and worthy of your support in all of their endeavors.
