THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN ELK FOUNDATION Recognizing the need for an organization to support elk and elk habitat, four hunters from Troy, Montana, started the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in Since then, the RMEF, with support from its members and volunteers, has successfully worked to protect and enhance over 6.7 million acres of North American wildlife habitat and to ensure its access for hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation. Much of the success of the RMEF can be attributed to its 11,000 volunteers working through more than 500 chapters across the United States. THE BOONE AND CROCKETT CLUB The Boone and Crockett Club is our nation s oldest conservation organization, and is credited with forming the foundation and framework for conservation in North America.
