11 thora-seal III three chamber system The ARGYLE THORA-SEAL III Chest Drainage Unit (CDU) is a wet suction chest drainage unit used to re-establish normal lung function. The chest drainage unit incorporates three basic chambers: Replaceable collection chamber for monitoring volume, rate, and nature of drainage; Water-seal chamber that acts as a one-way valve, as well as a window into the patient's pleural space; Suction control chamber to regulate suction and help re-expand the lung. ARGYLE offers three distinct models of the THORA-SEAL Chest Drainage Unit to meet individual needs, including the ARGYLE Auto transfusion Accessory options. Clear chambers allow for visualization from any area. Individual chambers for collection, water seal, and suction control. Removable collection chamber allows for quick and economical replacement of collection without replacing entire unit. Unique baffle system prevents fluids from spilling or mixing. Latex-Free patient tube and components and safe for both the clinician and the patient. 17 TURKEL SAFETY THORACENTESIS SYSTEM Colour change indicator As the needle moves through the chest wall and into the pleural space, the indicator displays: GREEN - The blunt tip safety cannula is exposed not cutting; RED The cutting edge of the needle is exposed cutting. Duck bill valve The one way duck bill valve allows air and fluid to escape from the needle yet prevents atmospheric air from entering into the pleural space to prevent accidental pneumothorax during procedure. Ball valve Automatic ball valve snaps into place occluding the opening of the catheter when the needle is withdrawn. In line stopcock Provides convenient access to drainage assembly while maintaining a closed system. 17
