2 CONTACTS LIST EVENT EMERGENCY NUMBER: DURING THE EVENT Safety Coordinator Any issues relating to medical, health & safety, rescues, dangers, incidents, accidents, disturbances threats for any person (walkers, volunteers, support crews, etc) Event Controller To report any Event related concerns, problems or information or to get help regarding any issues you re not sure about. Logistics Coordinator For anything related to food & drinks, supplies, marquees, portaloo s, power & lighting, waste, keys, schedules, catering, etc. Volunteers Coordinator For anything related to volunteers at your checkpoint and on the trail (Trail Marshals). Results Team For anything related to teams progress, whereabouts, retirement, etc OR OR OR OR OR EMERGENCY SERVICES (During the event) In any life threatening, TIME-CRITICAL emergency dial 000 (ensure they know that you are at Oxfam Trailwalker) For any other assistance call the Oxfam Trailwalker Safety Officer on (This number is active from 7am Friday to 10am Sunday). Outside these hours call the Volunteers Coordinator or Helpline. BEFORE THE EVENT Volunteers Coordinator

3 INSTRUCTIONS FOR GLOW STICK ACTIVATION TEAM 4 CP3 TO CP4 Glow sticks 24 hours 50 ***Only install glow sticks in locations where there is potential for walkers to get lost or there is some kind of hazard i.e. steep decline or steps. Sections you should install glow sticks are: Along Kokoda Track Memorial Walk up the Thousand Steps (Map Ref 4B) At top of steps into One Tree Hill Picnic Ground (Map Ref 4C, 4D) At intersection signed for Tyson Track (Map Ref 4F) Successive Map Reference points 4G to 4Q.

4 INSTRUCTIONS FOR GLOW STICK ACTIVATION TEAM 5 - CP4 TO CP5 Glow sticks 24 hours 80 ***Only put glow sticks in locations where there is potential for walkers to get lost or there is some kind of hazard i.e. steep decline or steps. Glow sticks should be placed 100m s or more apart. From Rock Track(ref 5.01) to Track 18 At direction N to direct walkers around gate and down through to clearing At Tramway Rd, from end of clearing on fence through to road From direction P to Q in map book After crossing at Clegg Rd through til it joins Warburton Trail From where the trail leaves the Warburton Trail up to Graham Colling Reserve

5 INSTRUCTIONS FOR GLOW STICK ACTIVATION TEAM 6 CP5 TO CP6 Glow sticks 24 hours 60 ***Only put glow sticks in locations where there is potential for walkers to get lost or there is some kind of hazard i.e. steep decline or steps. Glow sticks should be placed 100m s or more apart. Securely attach them to any stirrups sticking up from the Warburton trail these are usually just before and just after road crossings

6 INSTRUCTIONS FOR GLOW STICK ACTIVATION TEAM 7 - CP6 TO CP7 Glow sticks 48 hours 70 ***Only put glow sticks in locations where there is potential for walkers to get lost or there is some kind of hazard i.e. steep decline or steps. Glow sticks should be placed 100m s or more apart. Back fence of school and barricade across Warburton Trail to direct walkers coming from CP5 into CP6. Through Yarra Junction Recreation Reserve (7F) Illuminating small path at back of Millgrove shops directing into Water Stop (7K) Dee Rd - from direction M to N in Map Book At start of O Shannassy Aqueduct Trail (Map Ref 7N) At exit from O Shannassy Aqueduct onto Sussex St, direction 7P in map book They are 48 hour glow sticks so will be in place for from Friday until Sunday morning; please make sure they are securely installed.

7 TRAILWALKER and are hung along the trail at approximately every 100 metres. Use these along with the map book provided as your guide. They are attached to trees, fences, posts at around head height on the left hand side of the trail. The markers play both a directional role and most importantly form the basis of the emergency INSTRUCTIONS FOR GLOW STICK ACTIVATION TEAM 8 CP7 TO FINISH Glow sticks 48 hours 70 Solar Lights 20 Only put glow sticks in locations where there is potential for walkers to get lost or there is some kind of hazard i.e. steep decline or steps. Glow sticks should be placed 100m s or more apart. From Backstairs Track Dolly Grey Car Park (Map Ref 8B) all the way to the Finish, except Conduit Track where there will be solar lights Check secondary marking team have installed solar garden lights on the Conduit Track. There are approximately 20 lights to install, please ensure they are securely installed and if not collect from Finish. The glow sticks are 48 hour lasting so will be in place for from Friday until Sunday morning; please make sure they are securely installed. You will have 50 glow sticks, approximately 1 for every 150m s use them wisely!
